The Terminal - Trailer.

The Terminal is a 2004 comedy-drama film produced and written by Andrew Niccol and Sacha Gervasi. The film is co-produced and directed by Steven Spielberg and stars Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta-Jones. It is about a man trapped in a terminal at JFK International Airport when he is denied entry into the United States and at the same time cannot return to his native country due to a revolution. The film is said to be inspired by the 18-year-stay of Mehran Karimi Nasseri in the Charles de Gaulle International Airport, Terminal I, Paris, France from 1988 to 2006.

Anyone noticed that Tom Hanks does a lot of movies that are 'based on'? Cast Away, Saving Private Ryan(partially), The Terminal, Forrest Gump(Based on a book, and we all know Sully is based on real life. In my oppinion, Tom Hanks is the best actor, afterwhich I think comes Nicolas Cage. Love his acting aswell.

Yes the Story of Mehran Nasseri (Nicknamed Sir Alfred) an Iranian Refugee who stayed at Paris CDG Airport Terminal 1 from 1988 to 2006. Even if he was finally permited a visa to stay in France in 1999 he prefered remaining inside Terminal 1. He was evacuated for medical reasons in 2006. The funny thing is I live in Chelles (France) near CDG airport and at the Time between 1998-2006 when I was a child I was used to go to that same terminal because I had to catch every year a VARIG Airlines flight to Brazil. When I was used to go inside this terminal I could have the opportunity to notice Nasseri staying at the last floor near the main fontain, but I never noticed him once.

He was granted to live in France in 1999 but I guess it is because of a certain fear of the outside world he might have gained befor 1999 considering the fact he yet faced justice and even prison in a europeancountry far from his home land in Iran. All this happening bewildered him to the point that for him the safest place to stay would be the same one he remained since 1988 before getting out for a short period of time and face prison sentence: CDG terminal 1.
