I do like the form factor...fitting into the "viewport" of the steering wheel is great. It looked like it doesn't turn the lines when you go into a curve. Also, does it handle Blind Spot notifications (maybe i missed that in your video). I am also looking at Hansshow but that almost feels like overkill.

I wish you had turned on your turn signals even once so we could see what that looks like. On my Model 3, it drives me crazy that the turn indicators on the center screen are dim, tiny, and both left and right are to my right. If this device could show a linking left arrow on the left and a blinking right arrow on the right, I'd be sold.

How hard will this be to install in an early 2018 Model 3? Sounds like the connections to the ODB area would maybe be under the center console instead of the passenger A Plr as was shown in the Model Y here.

The only small minor annoyance is that the car model shown on the screen does not reflect the actual car model/color that you have. The same one that is on your main infotainment screen. Seems like you were driving a model Y and the screen showed you having a blue model 3 highland

Some people might wonder why a device like this is needed in the first place. Technically it isn't, of course, but here's why I recommend something like this: Many Tesla drivers are unhappy with having only a large center screen but no display in front of them. They feel the center screen is outside their line of vision while driving (which could be a safety issue), and they dislike having to continuously glance to the right just to monitor their speed. In addition, Tesla's higher-end models have a traditional driver's display that shows vehicle speed, charge, range, and much, much more -- which means Tesla acknowledges the benefits of a driver's screen but omitted it from the Y and 3 to perhaps save money and cheapen a car they charged over $50K for at the time. Finally, Tesla has refused to offer either Android Auto or Apple CarPlay for no good reason other than to make a political statement, in order to snub their noses at the industry standards offered by Google and Apple.

No, however Teslasy just released a T9 Dash Display last month thats kind of an upgrade to this T8 model (multiple companies sell it), and it allows you to view Apple Car Play or Android Auto in full screen. It's a really nice display, and I believe it's only available on their website for now.

@@brianwgDK okay wise azz, we all know that heads up displays may have originated in fighter jets, and are nearly a complete display for every known electronic sensor on said jet, but in all honesty and with a lack of snobbery, they have morphed into limited use “HUDS” for cars.
