So nice to haver someone actually EXPLAIN what B12 is/does. I just tested >2000 pg/ml (this week). I messaged my doc who said, "Stop taking the supplements'" I HAVE NOT taken any supplements in many, many years. I've been having a dull left side (kidney) pain. Who knows? He's the doctor, maybe I should just hope it "works itself out".

I think this test can be helpful in these cases of ongoing high levels. There are some genetics and that can cause this too.

My B12 is EXTREMELY high. My B12 binding capacity is low. What does this mean? My MMA Serum/Plasma is on the low end of normal. I am desperate to figure out what is going on with my health. I did have osteomyelitis 6 years ago, and am concerned that it has recurred somewhere in my body. My serum B12 has been extremely elevated for over 3 years, even if i stop taking it. My B6 will be high, but if I stop taking IT, it drops off to normal very quickly. Something is wrong, and nobody seems to want to help me find out what

You need to go to the proper doctor, someone in the hematology area.
@JesusWillSaveUs0313Ай бұрын
@@rogeriomartins4304I did go to a hematologist. He said “B12 is a water soluble vitamin, you will pee out the excess”. Well, that does not apply to me. After extensive research I have determined my elevated serum B12 can be attributed to gluten intolerance/celiac disease

i have a question...can chronic allergies (mildly raised eosinophils) and immune system abnormalities cause high histamine and liver inflammation with vit B12 elevation? i have mild hepatomegaly, with normal liver tests, high vit b12 levels(no supplements), body itching and brain fog,fatigue. ..and 1 year history of allergies.

Some Of those things yes. Not high liver enzymes

My folate and B12 were both super high. I wanted my Dr to check my homocysteine level cause it's correlated with the MTHFR gene mutation. He tested all three. I learned there's a major connection with that gene and ppl having long haul COVID. I have been dealing with tons of symptoms since the spring of 2020 and most Drs I went to have no information about long COVID.

In sept of 2023 my labs were done and my pcp said my b 12 was high. I do not supplement. I also had a low calcium he said. And my calcium numbers went from 9.8 to 9.6. Ive had muscle twitches since November of 2023 until present. I also have hypothroid. Not sure what this is but it also comes with anxiety as well.

I am lost. I have moderate b12 in my reg blood test but in my Vitamin B12 Binding Capacity, Unsaturated (Transcobalamin) I am flagged Vitamin B12 Binding 638 pg/mL 650-1340 L Cap so I don't understand what I have and I don't understand what you are saying. No doctor of the 8 that I have seen knows anything about this. Help

I have low b12 at 280 , I, having horrific gastritis up to my throat. I’ve tested negative for intrinsic factor but my homocysteine is like 13.8 , MMA is high normal , can the sublingual be effective because in the b12 groups they say I need shots. I’m afraid to take shots because I am pharma injured and don’t want to make akathsia worse. Having balance and memory issues now …it’s really bad

I have been testing high b12 levels for 7 years - but no other symptoms or issues. They did scans of my liver and abdominal and nothing shows up. It’s went down a bit - was closer to 2000 and now it’s like 1500 - but I have no other symptoms and all blood tests and scans are clear. One other weird thing is one of our children also tested high- not outrageous like mine but 100 above the normal range. Could my issue just be genetic?

I have had b12 deficiency symptoms most of my life, but the test showed 12 right in the middle of normal. I have mthfr gene mutation, unspecific auto-immune and unspecific auto-inflammatory disorders. I was started on Folbee about a year ago with not much improvement to symptoms. If anything some symptoms are worse. Dr recently pulled some labs and binding capacity is very low, but all levels are normal still. The only other change is steady decline of ferritin and a high vitD (but i do love in HI). Any insight?

Is this test similar to the HoloTC test? I was high on serum B12 and fairly low on active B12 (HoloTC). I was suggested to do MMA test now, but I did those tests abroad because we have such cranky laws concerning bloodtesting and all they think of is serum testing here.
@swintegrative Жыл бұрын
It is similar yes. it is looking at transcobalmin saturation rather than total TC.
