I'm an Australian and I read about it. It made my stomach turn and I started to cry. I just can't imagine something like this happening so often to the point where it's normalised. It's bloody disgusting that nothing is done about it.

When the 2nd amendment was written, flint lock guns was the state of the art for guns and had been unchanged for over 100 years, so they probably thought that was 'as fer a they can go' in gun technology. I looked into flint lock guns, and boy oh boy are they hard to maintain, load safely, and get up to 4 rounds per minute. I think what we have here with the congress and supreme court is a very LIBERAL interpretation of the constitution.

Yes, indeed, this is a very liberal interpretation of the second amendment. So liberal that it ignores the fact that we are living in a whole different world than the founding fathers knew. "Arms" are no longer flint lock rifles which could barely fire three shots in sixty seconds. If the founding fathers could have been aware of what was to come, the assault rifle, they would certainly have added some restrictions and conditions to the second amendment. Certainly, assault rifles would not be available to teenagers. The supreme court is long on legal theory but short on common sense.

@@squarewave2 Well said. But no one ever talking about how back then a well ordered militia was a very time consuming and expensive enterprise to get all those guys lined up and load fast and fire in unison repeatedly. I thought of getting a flint lock and learning it, but its too dangerous and very time consuming. I guess as AR-15 takes about 2 hours to learn and use to kill??

this is interesting. by your standerd s. we should out law the wheel. there are .ore killed by the wheel then. by. gun. this is not one side ves the other side. the biggest mass killing in schools was not in this country. this is and education problem. more then any thing. yes this is a problem. but it is. not the 🔫 gun. think you for your thoughts.

None of my business as I live in the U.K. your gun laws are loony. Given the number of people that are injured and killed by even legal guns why would anyone want to own one.
