Long, long ago when I was in high school, a girl moved here (Texas) from Chicago. She was amazed at how friendly and accepting we were. I remember being amazed that she was amazed. I was still young and assumed that all of the US was friendly like us. That's when I began to learn to appreciate how special it is to be born a Texan. I'd like to thank this gentleman who came here from across the pond for reminding me. I'm so blessed to be a Texan! God bless Texas forever! ❤

During my time in the military, I've lived in many different states/countries, and only in Texas do complete strangers wave when passing each other on the road.

There is one thing you may not know is that Texans absolutely adore a British accent. It can be Cockney, Geordie, Upper Class Pretentious or Royal. We just love the way you talk. We even love Australian and South African accents. We also find Irish and Scottish accents charming too.

My parents were Italian, I grew up in NY. Now I live in Texas (DFW) and the Texans I have met are genuine friendly people. Although, coming from NY, the bar was not very high.

One thing I love about being an Aggie (Texas A&M) - it’s our culture to say HOWDY to everyone on campus whether we know them or not. That friendliness creates such a life long Aggie bond.

I know, I know what is! It’s Don’t make me shoot you! Right? No.. It’s Beer n BBQ! Ok, it’s friendship. We are cool like that once you’ve been vetted. 😁 It is a refreshing reminder that an “outsider” can occasionally remind us of our best attributes that we might forget sometimes and take for granted. Thanks, English dude. Truly appreciated. Drink a Shiner on me. 🍻 If I ever meet you in public I’ll take care of it.

Thanks. Sometimes, we need that little reminder, which makes the people of my homeland exceptional. Keep preaching it, brother.

Just found your channel a few days ago and subscribed right away. I’ve been enjoying your perspectives of my home state, and looking forward to more! I wish more Englishmen would come and discover Texas for themselves...

Six months after my wife and I moved to Texas in 2005 I asked my wife if she was happy here. She said, "Yes. Because the people are so friendly." As I like to say, if you stand in a line in Texas, you'll make two new friends.

As a Texan you really notice it when you're in Los Angeles and open a door for a lady...The comments you hear from them isnt nice at all. Dont even get me started on saying ma'am there...

Well my “Speak Friend and Enter” Lord of the Rings doormat means so much more now! We definitely noticed this when moving from California. The pleasantries that Texans exchange during the small interactions in life do make for a nice day. Especially when it’s 95+ outside and humid, we’re all on the same team then.

I can never help but laugh when I here the word "bollocks". LOL! I never use the word myself, but am familiar with the dictionary definition of the word, this is what I hear everytime I hear the word is used "... this is all testicals!" I totally understand how the slang is used by and the meaning of discontent the word implies. My brain just works differently I guess. I have a challenge for you, make a video using different words from different regions of Texas to describe discontent of something vs using the word "bollocks". Love the videos. See you next time, Back at The Ranch.

I’ve been road-tripping in the upper Midwest this week, and I have noticed at times my usual friendly banter has fallen flat and been met by silence. Just sometimes, but to a noticeable degree. Kind of weird.

Native Texan here. My family has been here for generations. We can be a friendly bunch, but not exactly welcoming to a certain demographic.

*I mean, “voting a certain way” is pretty darn important when your wellbeing & personal freedoms hang in the balance.* But maybe that’s not something you have to worry about.

The Caddo word was translated through the Spanish language first before assigned to us. It went from Taysha to Tejas with the translation. Then obviously developed to Texas. Ironically, Texas was not friendly to the Caddo Nation. We took their land and relocated them multiple times. This is after 95% of them were decimated by European diseases.
