The most imporant change for me as a multicrew enjoyer is that its now possible for the Copilot to fiddle with the power settings in the Power Management MFD. This adds a new nice layer of depth to multicrew that is just exceeded by the ability of the copilot of the Zeus to actually fly the zeus. (a thing that i just know from the carrack's observer spot)

Zeus copilot being able to fly the ship is a welcome change. One, we will hopefully see more of going forward.

Thanks for trimming it down to just what has changed. The new power management screen will take some time to get used to it, but it's certainly got more function than the triangle.

Hold alt Q for a few secs to select the Upper Left MFD cast (you'll need a flight or combat helmet to see the MFD cast), then you can press alt q or e to cycle through it just like the dashboard MFDs. Likewise holding alt E for a few secs selects the Upper Right MFD cast, then press alt q or e to cycle. They're really only useful right now for Self Status and Target Status.

MFD for power management needs some adjustment as it wastes to much space. we could also use a screen that better shows the ships status, fuel/heat/cargo etc.

I’m so glad we’re getting updated MFDs. The power management one is going to be a problem as I had the power triangle mapped to a little stick on my throttle.
@Kyle-sr6jmКүн бұрын
I haven't been flying lately, but the new power management is going to take some time to love. Previously, I had power tied to hat toggles, which was fast and intuitive.

I like the power triangle more than the new power management MFD HUD. It feels more natural by showing you the trade-offs

It'll take some getting used to the new MFD for power management. I actually appreciated the button approach using F5, F6, & F7 for weapons, boost, and shields.

That power management screen seems perfect for engineers and people who constantly tweak power in combat, while being another layer of complexity for those of us just trying to fly without hitting something.
@JikAldemarКүн бұрын
I like the new power management system. It’s reminiscent of FTL, and it gives a feeling of scale to ships, where the old power triangle was the same no matter what you were flying.

I think they could have replaced the power management triangle with any other polygonal representation (e.g. pentagon) and people would have instinctively 'gotten' the change in line with the new requirements far better than a brick-stacking exercise.

Kind of disappointed to hear that you can only see the signature in the power management MFD you would think that would be also under just general ship status.
@Bob-jy6hmКүн бұрын
Power Management MFD displaying your own signature is practically pointless. Honestly for example in this video: IR: 26k, EM: 22k, crosssection: 11k. Does it answer? 1. On a scale of 0% to 100% for my ships hull + components, how is my ship performing? IR 26k means ... idle, normal, ... ? 2. On a scale of detectability, what does this mean to the world? Detection range km for radars S0, S1, S2, S3, ... ?

Danny has a detailed guide here. Nails the essentials. But lemme sum up 3.24.2 for you... They broke looting...in an MMO. The ship UI is inconsistent, broken in some ships, and terrible. The MFD and engineering gameplay has broken the ability to do anything efficiently in combat. 3.24.2 sucks. Come back in a year. Maybe they'll finish polishing the half-finished features they added in 2024.
