This was Pierce Brosnan's best role to date. He was born play Thomas Crown. And Renee Russo was born to play Catherine Banning. Best roles for them both.

And the on-screen chemistry was, simply put, amazing. Every scene has the air between them shimmering from the heat.

Brilliance on the script. But you can’t write that chemistry. Love them together here. I’ve watched at least 20x and still counting.

They were perfect together. I like this and the sailing scene with NYC in the background. Have you seen the 1968 movie? It has a scene where the protagonists are playing chess, I like this scene, again such hotness, such chemistry.

Of course, given how horrendous the Bond movies he was in were, I'd hope it was better. Though I don't think he was the reason those Bond movies were awful, that was bad luck on his part. 🙂

I love her snarky remarks. Crown has met a worthy opponent. You can almost see the pheromones raging in the air. When he asks do you think you''ll get me it takes him a second to realize the double entendre response from her. And Catherine does get her man.

@@lindildeev5721 Cool. You made me look it up. Thank you. “Frigga (sometimes called Freyja[1]) is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character appears in particular in those featuring the superhero Thor, who is Frigga's son. Based on both Frigg and Freyja of Norse mythology, she was created by writers Stan Lee and Robert Bernstein and artist Joe Sinnott, and first appeared in Journey into Mystery #92 (May 1963).” - neatoh

Just watched again, and while the writing/acting/direction was great, the actual characters aged like fine milk. In 2022, I'm to sympathize with millionaires who feel "trapped", and just want to disappear....with "means" (million$). It's still a fun story, but having now grown up, they make my eyes roll. No sympathy.
