Really helpful stuff--thanks! Do you have a link to that Awana Matt Markins interview you mentioned? Sorry if I missed it.

Very well discussed brother. We only need God and His order. We avoid the typical organisation of the church nowadays. That’s why we opted a house church setting.

Good video Matt! In the House church model being smaller means you can lift some of the more hardlined restrictions for elders because you do not have many people to choose from so they have to be Mature Christians, Sober, and living right for the Lord and with good biblical knowledge so to be able to correct in love teachings that may be a little off. Growing past the house church is a problem. Many traditional churches started in someones living room but got up to 40-60 people then went into the building. That is why multiplying is critical in the house church model that it won't work unless you multiply. You can use free public space as an option also if you get to a number that the house can't hold anymore. Sometimes getting outside helps refresh the church also. I knew a church here that met at a school but once a month they would have church outside in the public at a free public space. It was a great way for passersby to listen in around the edges. People that normally would not come to church.

@@revolutionofordinaries I think what I saw and experienced is believers in a house church do not want to multiply. Its sorta like separation anxiety. lol But at some point if your growing in numbers you going to have to multiply. Believers develop relationships in the house church but do not want to leave to start a new house church because of the relationships. I think from what I have seen from other house church models is they solve this problem by creating a house church network by bringing together the house church plants to stay connected coming together like once or twice a month corporately. Feeling Isolated has been a problem in the house church movement that house churches fizzle out that many leave the house church to go back into the traditional church model. Its almost like taking methods from the home schooling networks they have developed over the yrs as away for kids and parents to connect together as a bigger community so your not so isolated. In the early yrs of home schooling that was a problem isolation that most with kids worried about the isolation and missing out on their kids developing social skills that you need in life. The home schooling networks solved the isolation problem.

@@Charleston4Jesus We try to not split the church but rather invite new people to new churches with new leaders.

You don’t need a lot of elders. They just help oversee
@revolutionofordinaries8 ай бұрын
Depends on how many people they are overseeing...in house church you typically don't need many but they would need to be biblically qualified.

@@revolutionofordinaries which means mature in the faith, can teach the finished work of Jesus Christ, one wife , not short tempered …. Most mature Christian’s men can do this
