this was fun to watch : ) I feel like it might be fun if you get to add one move (incl. extensions/follow-ups, as you already did) to your arsenal per rank you gain (and you'll lose it again if you drop). So i.e. Fujin you got what you've shown here and each rank above that you're allowed to add one thing. Or it could also be tied to won sets instead, if rank seems too limiting. And muscle memory and reflexes are expected to kick in every now and then, so I think you should be allowed 1 illegal move per round as well. If you use more, the set doesn't count.

Not gonna lie, this is the most fun I've had watching a Tekken 8 video in a very long time. This is good entertainment! 👍 Also, I think you took his tweet too literally. Yeah, you can do the mentioned moves and the extensions, and the powercrush, but I think it goes without saying that you of course can jab, and do the d4 low and heatsmash and rageart and moves like those which are non-character spesific, so you can at least play Tekken.

He’s not lying, Nina needs to be nerfed. I’m an Azucena main that’s been playing Nina for only 2 days and I took her from Mighty Ruler to Bushin just from poking (df 1,2 into ws 1, db 3, and 4,1). What makes Nina so strong is because she can essentially still play Tekken 7 with her pokes….all the dmg done from her pokes is non recoverable health and her frames on hit are super strong usually +4 or more while all the startup frames on her good poking tools are 14 frames or smaller. If an opponent gets too aggressive just f 1+2 powercrush through everything

Great video! I think a good video idea would be to decode what people mean when they say something is broken because most Twitter opinions come with almost no explanation and I still have no idea why Nina is broken or easy lmao. As a first timer I find her very difficult to play as and struggle to get better with, my time playing as yoshi was much easier and I could understand why he is broken but I don't understand Nina's strength and I would love to see it actually be laid out in detail!

I think the challenge should be to mimick Special Style as closely as possible, you pick the 4 most essential strings / moves to that character. For some characters that may include a jab string but others may not, but I think picking top 4 is fun.

I think using fundamental/common tools is fair. Using neutral buttons like jabs, using wake up options, throws, and other basic mechanics is fair. The goal here really is to test the utility of those three particular special moves in a way that separates her from other characters, so anything other characters have should be fair game, I think. Combos using those moves and extensions I think follows the spirit of it, but maybe full combos that you have to study and practice and optimize doesn't quite do that, I think. At that point, it's just learning to optimize the character around a particular gameplan--which is just learning a character in general, I'd argue.

i think these videos are much more helpful as a reference if you use "just those 3 moves (and universal tekken tools, jab, ws moves, punishes, bnb combos etc)" and add more key moves/strings if needed as you hit roadblocks edit: theres no reason for this to not be episode 1 part 1 of pp for nina, with an actual nina vid part 2 or something

As to not go against the spirit of the challenge, which is Yagami's tweet, maybe using the sample combo at most so you are still playing from behind in the match. Using only legal moves would be cooler though. For anti-defense state, maybe throws would be cooler than lows? You are using lots of highs, so you would still need to rely on the mid to counter high crush, using the throw more on reads. For anti-turtleing, that is tough. If Nina had a really infamous low, like Jin's d+2, then it would be fine, it would be in the spirit of the challenge. Like, it isn't that those lows you pointed aren't super good but it isn't the thing reddit would complain about, you know? Maybe at higher ranks it would be fine. Again, in the spirit of the tweet, maybe just avoiding doing optimal punishes and combos are the priority.

I think Tekken Emperor-God is possible. You might hve to add a couple moves for Tekken God and beyond. I suggest doing 5 move challenge by adding ws1 with extensions (for duck and low punishers) and add d2 as a low (has a CH launching extension, high crushes and only -12)
