I took it upon myself and actually read the things on that wattpad account. It had a single fanfiction about the tramp stamps, where Marisa is a lesbian but evil manager prevents her from ever getting close with any woman. Basically she keeps "flirting" with some random unnamed women and the manager bursts into the scene and stops the sinful activities, like a homophobic kool aid man. Of course, the fanfic is full of typos and grammar fuck ups and its writing style is completely inconsistent with the tumblr "stan account" that was allegedly ran by the same user... I pray for that poor marketing intern who had to write it to get payed.

I'm a 30 year old white woman and I grew up romanticizing the Riot Grrrl movement. That was until I learned how flawed it really was. I still have appreciation for many of the people involved in that era and a lot of the good things that came from it. But that was 25-30 years ago. We need to keep moving past that exclusionary time. One thing I see alot from this band is the ageism thing. Like most ppl don't care if there's a punk band with members in their mid to late 20s who are still dressing punk or dying their hair. Hell I still dress like this and dye my hair crazy colors and I've done it since I was 12. The thing that ppl are pointing out is that this group of girls didn't dress like this before they became a band, like at all. They're only doing this to try and target gen Z and it's the fakest sh!t. Gen z listens too and are fans of many bands and singers that are into different subcultures and styles who are in their mid to late 20s some even older then that. The difference is these singers and bands are all stay6trei to who they are. And that makes a huge difference Just one of the tramp stamps many issues is them trying to use ageism as a reason ppl don't like them and are calling them fake. This is not gen Z trying to gate keep older ppl from the punk scene like the tramp stamps are probably going to try and say at some point if they haven't already

It’s so messed up, and them calling it a “poor sexual experience” that they could all relate to and acting like the men they’re referring to owed them something more and are angry that they either couldn’t or didn’t want to have sex with them is straight up perpetuating r*pe culture and calling it feminist, calling it “punk,” when it’s neither of those things. Ok this band seems cringe and all but what bothers me more is how the whole Riot Grrrl movement has been labelled as some kind of white supremacist movement by Uncle Herman and the zoomers. Like, sure, most performers were white and probably biased in a lot of ways, but that applies to pretty much any punk movement, especially ones that occurred decades ago. Including the male-oriented ones. Like, can we just let women have one thing or do we have to purity test it into the ground and label a whole, super important and progressive music scene "problematic"?

I mean, I agree Riot Grrrl had issues and nu Riot Grrrl should be more actively inclusive and anti-racist. But it’s true that the same criticism is not directed at male musicians who market themselves as progressive, and it’s clear why. Not trying to cancel anyone, but Kurt Cobain talked about ass@ulting an intellectually disabled girl as a young man. David Bowie was credibly accused of statutory r@pe. The hardcore scene is full of sexism, racism and @ssault. Men are excused for terrible things because of talent, while women are torn down for much less.

@@ixmay1023 Yeah, I get what you mean. And I'm sure modern scenes are more inclusive. The thing Uncle Herman is saying, that Riot Grrrl was somehow the cause of "white feminism" is just wrong. Feminism started as a movement amongst white suffragettes and have become more and more inclusive since. The 90's was not some kind of step back in terms of representation. Rather the opposite. So why make that up? My honest guess would be that maybe the term "White Feminism" could have been coined in the 90's..? But surely that would just demonstrate that feminism had become more diverse at that time - which meant that distinction had become necessary? I dunno, think Herman missed the mark on this one tbh.

I heard about this band like a week ago. Whether it was organically or not is up for debate. Either way I'm glad that everything I've seen about them after looking up their music shows whats up.

The Sex Pistols were put together by fashion store owner, Malcolm McLaren and Sid Vicious didn't even play the bass at all. You could also say that they were industry plants too.
