My mom is a traditional wife, and my father is a loyal husband. Together they taught me so much about life. My mom to this day is my best friend, who I go to for advice when things are hard, or who I call to celebrate my accomplishments. I would not be close to her if she worked. There were very specific time for myself and my sister in which we would talk to her, and she learned through being home that if she did not interact with us she would miss out. Because I saw my mom spending her free time reading a book, I started getting into reading. When she started picking up art again I would ask her for advice when I started my art journey. I think we forget how important having a parent there for the children is for their development. I feel lucky that my Mom was there for me as I grew up, and is still there for me as an adult. As a man who wants to get married and have kids I know that I cannot force my wife to be traditional, but I would bring in the fact that one of us should be there for our children to help prepare them for the world that we live in. Anyway, sorry for the long winded comment. I just recently found your channel, and I know this video is old in internet times, but thank you.

When women and men, both were told to work and to be providers and not to be the nurturers, you need to only provide about half the income nessesary to provide for a family. When they tell people not to have kids and focus on their career, you only need to provide enough for one individual to barely eat and get shelter (no taking child education costs or other related costs into consideration). According to Pew, men already work more hours (working + housework) yet feminist want to tilt in further in womens favor.

The only problem I currently have with tradwives lifestyle stuff is that they should also promote getting proper education and work skills. If you want to be a trad wife, sure w/e, have fune, but you should make sure that, should something bad happen like your husband becoming abusive, or simply passing away or becoming disabled, that you have the proper skills and resume to get a decent job to support yourself and your family. They shouldn't promote dependence, as much as promote trust, but getting ready for the worst outcomes. Even if you are in denial of spouses becoming abusive later in relationships, there's still the very real stat that people die and become disabled every day due to mundane things such as car accidents. What happens then? You gonna work as a waitress the rest of your life to make sure your kids don't become homeless? Or are you going to have some backup plans to possibly somewhat maintain your standards of living? Being a pure tradwife is nothing but a gamble with your kids on the line...

Of course, there are a lot of men who panic as well. It's just the immediate zero to one thousand transformation you get to see from superficially stoic or 'macho' woman is far more extreme. After the irrational and directionless panic is over, they literally cannot even remember what happened during the emergency. Their mind just straight-up departs the mortal realm until the threat passes.

@@prettyfayegirl7317 The thing is, any guy that felt like they were owed something simply because they paid for a date they invited a girl on is an asshole. The way I was raised, if you invite someone somewhere, unless other terms are specifically agreed on, you AT LEAST offer to pay. ESPECIALLY on a date. Expecting something in return is just being a dick. Having said that, if a girl I asked out truly wanted to pay her half, I mean, I'm gonna resist, it's just built into me, but not because I want something I can hold over her later. @@prettyfayegirl7317 But doing that effectively 'tips your hand', with regards to the general dynamics of any restaurant date. He'll assume that if you were eager for the kiss, you'd have let him pay since his charm would have overridden your desire to not feel indebted to him. You've let him know that he hasn't met the required standard, so he's already preparing to ditch you before you can ditch him. And that's without even getting into the additional fact that you've immediately set off alarm bells in his head, regarding your political and social leaning. My great-grandma was the most feminine and yet one of the strongest people i've ever known. She took care of three children after her husband died in war, in a country destroyed by war, in a terrible regime. Her life was on ultra hard mode. Yet despite all that, she was very feminine, very loving and very motherly. She also never once said anything negative about her late husband even after decades, if anything she only talked well of him. That's what you call strong, dedicated and loyal.

Same with my grandmother, but seven kids and pawpaw was an unemployed alcoholic. Twenty some odd grandchildren and more than 40 great grands. She did so much for all of us. She would come to the house and clean it during the summer sometimes and tell us to tell our parents we did it. When I had my son and I needed to feed him at a family gathering, she shoo'd my uncle out of the lazy boy, sent a cousin to fix me a plate and had my other uncle sit beside me to hold my plate and feed me since my hands weren't free. (Too many of us for a table) God I miss her.

I've always believed that EVERYONE, male and female, need to know how to do everything around the house (including minor repairs) BEFORE they get into a relationship. That way the couple is together because they care for each other and want to be together, not because of any dependencies. So many times young men are 'marrying their mother' and young women are 'marrying their dad' because of what they can DO, not because of who they are.

Yeah, a lot of people don't realize that it was about the same 20% of marriages have some kind of domestic violence that occurs, most DV is perpetuated by both sides towards each other, but most cases of one-sided DV is women hitting, slapping, punching, or verbally degrading men. What's really funny is that lesbian relationships are significantly more likely to be abusive and end in divorce when compared to gay and straight relationships, but you because of feminism, women are nothing but perfect angels that are stronger, smarter, hotter, more empathetic, more efficient, and overall more capable than men are and men, especially of the white variety, are nothing but misogynistic pigs that don't contribute a dime to society other than making money for them to spend their own money on themselves. sorry, bit of a rant.

I went to college and majored in what my mom told me to but I wasn’t passionate about it. I hate making decisions and I’m not great with money. I’m a follower not a leader. I know this about myself and I’m ok with it. Being able to depend on my husband and all I have to do in return is cook and clean and take care of my family seems like I’ve won the lottery. If you’re a single mom you have to cook clean and take care of your family and you still have to go to work and bust your ass. I respect them whole heartedly. I’m just not cut out for that if I can help it.

It ruined Hollywood. Women were always strong AND feminine in movies. Think of any Kathryn Hepburn movie. But now they need to actually BE LIKE men to be strong. And they don't have any faults or struggles. They're Mary Sue characters who can do anything and defeat anyone without a learning curve or character arc, like in Marvel movies, Star Wars, LOTR, etc. And the men are turned into fumbling idiots. The theory is that if you are financially dependent on your spouse, it becomes harder to stand up for yourself in interpersonal conflicts that naturally arise in domestic relationships. Once your spouse realizes that they usually get their way, it gives them a degree of power over you and they gradually lose interest in doing the work in maintaining a healthy relationship. Small abuses turn to big abuses and the relationship boiling-frogs its way to being trapped in an abusive partnership. In theory, anyway. Something like this probably happens some of the time to some extent, but it seems like some people take this theory as prophetic.

@jodhan90
@jodhan90 Жыл бұрын
@@resistancefm5133 In theory there should be a dependence in both ways. If you marry or even just move in with another person, you are in some way dependent on the other person. If you choose this type of lifestyle. A wife that doesn't earn money depends on her husband's money. A husband is dependent on his wife to take care of the household if he doesn't have the time or ability to do it himself. In that situation both are dependent. And yes, bad things can happen in those dependencies. If you choose that kind of lifestyle you need to choose the right partner because if you choose wrong, it's not a nice situation to be in.
@asdfbeau

@@resistancefm5133 I have a 'trad' wife- this dynamic plays out exactly opposite of how the feminists believe it does because they miss the most-basic tenets of humanity e.g. we naturally feel indebted to people who care for us. I get it though: maladjusted young adults, that worship money, have a hard time understanding how people could possibly _not_ be in control, if they are the breadwinners. ...and this TV trope of evil grandpa beating grandma over a cold dinner needs to die- if anything, domestic violence has increased. It's all probably unrelated to feminism, but that's kinda the point.
