I just ordered a polestar 3. It’s coming this November I can’t wait. Getting delivered to Toronto I plan on keeping it for 5 years and then trading it in so someone else can enjoy it and I get a new baby

One thing to consider about the incentives, not every state or local area offers one. Here in Nevada, we get absolutely nothing from the state in way of any kind of incentive.

TFTC Bought a model Y poverty edition (AWD) while it was still off menu, just before they dropped the price again and put it on the menu 😅. Even though my state has no incentives and charges out the ass (nearly 1k) for a new registration, still worth it IMO.

I would not recommend 2011 - 2012 Leaf unless you can live with 30 mile range. A colleague has a 2012 and battery degradation is so bad on a full charge the car predicts 28 miles. Yikes! And he lives in Fremont, CA, not Arizona where it is super hot.

Could you make a video on how much the maintance of your Polestart 2 costs? I would love to know how expensive it is to change filters, tieres, breaks and so on. Especially as you own the performance version.

Max, does your Canyon (bike for non-cyclists) fit into the trunk with the seats down? Size? Would love to see a video on the various cyclist options in the Polestar. Those of us who don't live in cycling heavens like Boulder sometimes need to take fairly long drives to events, gravel rides, etc. and it seems to me that a bike rack (roof or tow hook) will destroy range.

@@outofspecguide Well you could fit a bike without its front wheel in almost any car it seems to me! How about with the front wheel on? I love the ability to just toss a bike into a hatch with the seats down if possible rather than messing with the wheel. Especially with disc brake bikes.

It's not just the price of new EVs, it's the price of ALL new vehicles- ICEV, Hybrid, PHEV, BEV. These car manufacturers have lost their damn minds with greedflation and trying to pass the buck on to the consumer. They are putting in cheaper, inferior parts, quality isn't up to snuff but then jacking up prices and then expecting consumers to shell out our hard earned money. That's not including the sleazy stealerships with their markups and add-ons. I'm still looking to buy a BEV within the next year or so. I love the Polestar but not the Polestar price so right now, a used Polestar 2 and VW.1D4 are high on my list (although it looks like the newer ID.4s have better software that the current ones have not gotten yet). Toyota really dropped the ball with the BZ4X (and Subaru Solterra). They missed an opportunity.

What is status of V to G and Plug&Charge on Polestar 2?

I got a 2019 LEAF + from a Nissan Dealer (under 25k and they know nothing about the $4000 tax credit and gave me no info or paper work on that (so for my 2023 taxes I’m not sure what to do?) hope by next year I can figure out, I feel like the dealer or Nissan should have a standard form and my understanding is they are to have reported my sale to the IRS. 🙃

I did a little research on this, and it seems for now (this year) this $4K tax credit just gets deducted from taxes you OWE and does not retain any remainder if you owe less that $4K. For example, if you owe $3999, after tax credit you owe nothing and don't get that $1 difference. If you owe $4001, after tax credit you owe $1 (which is better than $4001). Starting 2024, I believe that changes.

Wow 5500 from the "power company"? Who is paying for that? That seems crazy high for a presumably private company. And EV owners are going to be the ones putting the higher demand on the grid! Usually they subsidize energy saving devices lol

EV owners put more demand on the grid, that’s exactly why a private company which sells electricity would want to incentive the purchase of EVs lol. Most EV owners charge overnight when demand is low anyway so it’s a win-win for the power company. $5500 would be surprising though

That is insanely high. My power company in Maryland offers 1/10 of that. And in order to get it you have to apply now for if and when the program gets grant funding starting in July. And, you have to give the power company full access to your power so they can throttle you whenever they want to.

It's an income-qualified incentive with a few other limitations. For example, MSRP must be below $50k, must be purchased through a dealership in Colorado, and a few other things. It also replaces the $2k CO state credit.

Uh no? I explored hitch mount options and with my deep aero wheels those are literally a drag net sideways. Bike straight on facing the wind is the best solution outside car. If I have room and no passengers I’ll take front wheel off and load bike in interior for best efficiency.
