As for the exploit, from what I heard, it was just Kaveh. I know that there was a video of Nahida deleting a Petrified Tree, but the original creator of that video did come forward and explained that they used an overlay to make it look like they deleted their tree and asked their co-op partner to act surprised. The exploit pretty much just relied on Kaveh being able to explode Dendro Cores immediately, which so far no other Dendro character can do

I recently encountered a hacker on asia server aswell I even recored it. he had furina with her signature but the sword was burning and when he attacked he would freeze in the animation and everything died cuz they took dmg like 100x per sec it was crazy. they could also teleport and spawn random enemies from other regions or create dendro cores and make them explode whenever he wants

Let's not forget there was a specific section of their official statement that basically said "also stop attributing this negativity to our characters they did nothing wrong" 😂 The Nahida video, I saw one on TikTok or something that a friend shared with me. It looked real, but allegedly the person later admitted to editing it (I never saw this confession myself nor any proof they edited anything). For good measure I just assumed Nahida could as well. Some people said it was specific to Kaveh because of the dendro core thing, but some said that most/all items you can hit/interact with have a life/death meter (like setting random crates on fire etc). If I recall, some claimed that because you can set hp to go down on these things. only enemies can respawn after they die, those items that "die" never come back because they have to trigger to refresh at daily reset, since they weren't created to be destroyed by characters. This had been the most well written explanation that included the possibility of others besides Kaveh doing it, so I took it as most likely fact. I just figured that something specific to Kaveh made him the easiest to do the hack with and that's why they chose him. That or the fact he's such a kind character who builds and they wanted to use him for destruction

So for anyone wondering how this exploit even works (on very simplified term): Let's say a dendro core is represented as "dendro core" variable, and since kaveh deletes every dendro core on his area therefore the logical term would be "kaveh deletes every item that has "dendro core" variable in them. Every dendro core generated is the same, thus all of them have the same "dendro core" variable without any unique ID on each of them (which i don't understand why they did this). Now every other stuff in the world also have their own variables that's unique to their own. Now how the exploit works is they change every item's variable name to "dendro core". Then kaveh would delete those items because it have the variable name "dendro core" even though it's not a real dendro core. Thus kaveh deleting an artifact tree would not be reversible since you can't make an already gone dendro core from kaveh's skill to reappear. I'll put the original post in edit where it have the exploit code but i forgot to save the twitter post.

I feel so disconnected 😭 i never know about this stuff but I do always keep to myself in literally everything, I’m basically a hermit watching from the shadows, I can’t hear what people are saying but I can see them lips moving. When I first started playing I did co op all the time and I started in 1.4 or 1.3, I’m pretty sure it was 1.3 cause I remember the festival changing everything in town and I got super excited but confused and i had no idea what was happening and I also didn’t know what the limited events were. But around 1.6 I completely stopped co op because I heard about the hacking issues and I heard people get targeted when playing co op and I loved my account so I tried to make my account look small and insignificant to people looking for people to play with and never accepted a co op request again.

The idea of this is that in game engine there are a name for each item (that name is used to make script work) so the scripter made the collider of the e ability to make any thing that collider touch named by "dendro core" and the script that destroy the spawned dendro core will destroy any item with that tag "dendro core" funny thing to know
