A new animal discovered today, by me. It is incredible that it can do what it does. Nature is fascinating to the extreme.

good for the little fellow... often they are the victims of bulling, abuse, and hatred..... the little fellow, for once, holds his ground and battles a very dangerous and deadly insect.

That is no ordinary mouse. They actually take down and eat giant desert centipedes, scorpions and tarantulas for a living.

Scorpions are arachnids, but ok.

I live in AZ stung by a bark scorpion last year didn't die lower leg went numb for 12 hours weird feeling like electric shock then a sting. It's really rare for humans to die from bark scorpion sting some people have a allergic reaction those people airway can swell up they cant breath also happens from a bee sting too.
@nigelft4 жыл бұрын
Yup ... That is called anaphylaxis. As you said, it is an allergic reaction, but to the extent of it causing massive swelling, especially of the tongue, and throat, can it can cause severe breathing issues. If I remember correctly, that can be reduced by a quick injection of epinephrine, or, as it more commonly known as, adrenaline. I used to know how that works in cases of anaphylaxis, but something tells me it that, as a neurotransmitter, it acts as a vasoconstrictior, but also forces the heart to pump faster, increasing blood flow, thus reducing swelling ... or, that's what I remember. I really need to get my First Aid at Work recertification done after the current mess is over ...

So bbc is prone to adding sound effects like many of the movies with fight scenes with a few timely added Swoosh! Swash! sounds as one combatant swings at the other, and so on. Oh very good bbc! You've been busted...
@kerianhalcyon27699 жыл бұрын
+goofydog2 They've always done that, believe it or not. In fact when they were called out on that whole Polar Bear scene most of the cameramen came forward and indicated that not only do they do that on a regular basis, but they encourage it; seeing as it allows for the viewers to get a glimpse into their world from the safety of the camera while the cameramen and crew can watch from the safety of behind a glass window or a cage wall, otherwise they would be taking unnecessary risks that could potentially hurt both themselves and the animals they are filming. The only real difference between BBC and American documentaries is that we tend to be less professional about it...which is kind of sad. It's what we get for having generation after generation of people more interested in some random losers in Jersey or a big name family rather than something that is actually thought provoking and interesting.

It's all made in CGi. Pretty disappointing. Not real animals, not real background... :(
@Xerrill9 жыл бұрын
Actually no, they made separate little sets that looked like their surroundings. Then they hoped the animals would use them as their own. As far as the mouse, that is all true. I live in the Mojave desert and have seen it.

There was some editing work done in this documentary, but no real animals? You are kidding right?
