Like Imma be honest I don't mind Strand being another punchy thing, but it needs to be more than just add clear. I am actually shocked and appalled they didn't do the simple things and let Titans just pull enemies with Strand. Let us single out a target to be the battlefield tacticians. Debuff high priority targets, and pull them into your team to chew them up. It's so brain dead simple and perfectly goes with the whole string vibe Strand gives off. The points raised are extremely valid. While I'm very frustrated by Sour Apple Striker, going all the way back to Solar (a class that is pretty visually and mechanically different from the other Titans) to raise the core issue of "it's always just random bullshit slapped together into a directionless mess" I think actually hits really close to the root of the issue.

I get the Berserker was made with the Strand keyword “Sever” in mind, but they still didn’t really add anything to the Berserker’s kit other than its melee attack severing targets. Imagine if they treated the Warlock the same as the Titan. You are Space Wizard?, Well now you have a super that shoots a ball, on every of your sub classes but with four different colored - purple, orange, blue, and green.

As a warlock main this is what it feels like throw a ball on strand a long ball on arc a pruple ball on void or reverse the ball to be orange and heal on solar (top of the well sword) and all the warlock dmg supers are just straight trash hunters barrage mobius tether and gstorm out dps any warlock super and titans at the very least get a chest piece that makes tcrash useful unless you get to close to a boss and get stomped or kicked in rhulks case. Now im not saying strand titan is unique cuz imo its really not its behemoth just with strings but they could have done something like hammers at least that has range and not makes it where you get too close up and just die because the enemies just burst you down since youre the closest target. Hell make it a true mmo and have it be a true tank class with good aggro pulls dmg mitigation something like gunbreaker in ff14 they have a melee rotation with some gcds that shoot bullets or the dps red mage (which i main) that has a magic rotation that builds up white and black mana to unleash a crazy 3 hit melee combo that then changes your jolt and scorch spells to verflare and verholy to put out good dmg hell red mage can even use very select white magic support spells to heal teammates or rez them if theyve fallen all while keeping the rotation smooth and not missing a gcd

@@rustycrowbar4250 hes not wrong tho ive been playing warlock since 2014 on my ps3 till now on my ps5 we had our moments in the light but they dont last very long stasis nerfed the same week it came out then all the 3.0s outside of voidlock are sub par to what they could do and titans do have a right to complain 4 out of 5 of their subclasses are punch in the rainbow just like how warlocks throw a ball in the rainbow but at least every titans subclasses neutral game is good enough to carry the class spots on solar to survive void os to tank arc to dish out damage stasis to do a combo of the others and strand berserker seems just like stasis in neutral game but the problem is they dont really have a ranged option for supers

Last night I got an idea on what strand titan could be. The warlocks creates the threads (and living things with them), the hunter pulls the threads and uses them to their favor, and the titan cuts the threads and catches enemies with them (the barricade's ripple). We also got this idea of the Weave that conects all living things, and being sever from the Weave is like not being alive. Lets mix those: what is the thing that always will catch you and takes you away from being alive? Death. Make the Strand Titan a cosmic and furious grim reaper, with a scythe that makes wide slashes that cut reality (Aka sever and the ripple ). The aspects seem somewhat fine, as it could be like harnessing the victims souls (tangles) to empower the living. For the melee i'm between the current triple dash but with a scythe or short-medium range slashes that severs or suspends. But what definitively needs a change its the super. Make the titan create a giant scythe to do a single vertical swing that sends a big ripple forward, doing big damage, severing and granting woven mail. This came out after swinging a broom arround.

The super seems functionally identical to behemoth. You have a ranged heavy attack that doesn't do much damage but locks people in place, and a melee lunge attack that goes for the kill

Bro honestly I’m glad someone is voicing my opinions cause I’ve been a titan main since d1. I love being a titan , being the wall, the defender of the last city, but I would love to be all that and more with more variety to my supers cause punch punch and more punch seems so pointless for every aspect of the game especially endgame activities and seeing what strand titan will be like has made me less excited and more disappointed to see that there seems to be no creativity for titans.

The fact that bladefury is literally just strand glacial quake is such an insult to us titans, both of them give you a buffed version of your normal melee ability on your primary, and your alt fire is an AoE cone in front of you that will CC enemies. I want to have supers that actually mean something and are cool and unique. I don't want yet another melee add clear super that just does what you already do but better, I want something that is fundamentally different than what the subclass does when it doesn't have super, making said super really stand out as an ability worthy of being called a super

Warlock main here. Been on the outside looking in on this issue. Never really played much Titan, Mage has always been my go-to in most things. I still think we should wait till we got our hands on the new supers before making any judgements but at this point I absolutely get where you’re coming from. Titan theming for the Darkness subclasses has been pretty weak so far. I think the Light subclasses are pretty good, Strikers all about hitting fast and hard like a human freight train, Sentinels all impenetrable defense and protecting allies, and Sunbreakers essentially a God of The Forge, but the darkness subclasses so far have pretty much just been Fists of Havoc 2 and 3. Regardless of effectiveness, its just not a different enough play-style. Hell, i think just giving berserker the ability to pull enemies Kratos style woulda done wonders for it, at the risk of being closer visually to threadrunner. Point is I totally get it, the subclasses/supers all feel too samey, and like none of them have a clear fantasy their trying to provide. If I can give some words of comfort though, chances are the darkness subclasses are all gonna get alt supers eventually. Probably not soon, but they will, so its not like theyre gonna be this way forever. Id also be shocked if they do ANOTHER roaming super for the third darkness subclass (which we all know is gonna be red). Iunno, you Titans deserve better, there so much cool shit you can do with a space warrior.

my idea was give strand titan either A. a minigun or B. a cannon/launcher (something like Republic Troopers in Star Wars: The Old Republic have) a single shot cannon that has massive impact and aoe damage but cannot hit precision, and is loaded with 3-4 shots. each shot causing a ripple in the cosmic web and forming a tangle for your team as well, not just damaging.

Agreed. Only punch really viable is Thundercrash but even still, it's too much punch, not enough of anything else. If someone manages to get though something like a Master Dungeon/Raid or GM with a melee build (On Titan!), then it would seem possible. Enemies just hit too hard for one to work or even get close enough to working.

Mayhem is a great example of Supers strengths and attractiveness. Titans use 2 of their 7 supers, Thundercrash being most popular followed by Bubble. Hunters use 4 of their 8 supers. Silence and Squal, Blade Barrage, Gun Slinger (both) and Tether (Moebius Quiver). Warlocks use 3 of their 8 supers.Nova Bomb (both), ShadeBinder and Dawnblade (occasionally). The rest of the supers are used seldomly. Most of these supers are either ranged roaming or single use. Gunslinger being hit scan is very easy to use, along with having more fragment slots due to their aspects. Dawnblade is usually paired with the tracking projectole aspect and even if the main sword may miss, the flame produced behind it will clean you up. Shadebinder being shutdown freezing, along with their stasis turrret. Edit to Gunslinger and Dawnblade.

@@PocketTuna Its funny how they mentioned in the Vidoc that titans are "tanky, pushing the front line", resilient, etc. Which is why we have woven mail. However, woven mail for titans is produced when killing an enemy, and for everyone else, its an orb of power. But, hunters get an exotic for that, making the activation of Woven Mail increadibly easy (like Gyrphalcons), also due to the aspect giving 2 charges and refunding grenade energy on persistent latches. Sounds like constant woven mail to me! Makes me feel like they are encroaching on the idea that titans are the resilient class. The barricade aspect itself looks and sounds bad. In the Vidoc, they say "the aspect itself will JUST send out a wave that will suspend enemies in front of the barricade", that's it!? The titan exotic legs will grant woven mail on enemy suspension, requiring a HIT. Where in pvp, hippity hoppity hunters can easily jump over the wave (though I'm not sure if said wave tracks).

Berserker Strand Titan Idea: Instead of knife hands we get dual wield Scythes/Pull apart Scissors to embrace the “sever” fantasy. Melee ability could’ve stayed the same or been a charge up ability similar to thunder clap where the Titan can throw the scissors and bring in a target and slice em to inflict whatever the current strand melee does. Super coul’ve been a hybrid roaming/one off. Gain woven mail and have a light attack that spams the slash melee or does consecutive grabble attacks depending on the aspect you have; and make the heavy attack be a charged ranged nuke where you use your remaining super, combine your scissors, jump up in the air to throw a precise but deadly slash through the air(with damage reflecting the amount of super energy used). Idk you can say it cuts through web of life or whatever but that way you get Titan punch and a ranged dps option at the cost of your super. Idk would’ve been cool to see as a berserker play style

The only titan subclass with an identity is sentinel but even then, they took the most unique thing about it, void detonators aka volatile, and let hunters basically have nearly 100% uptime no matter you aspects or fragments though some help while titan has to equip a certain aspect and/or a certain fragment and still not nearly as powerful as hunter. Only problem with solar titan is the supers, kinda wish we had a giant sunspot like a well of radiance but it just gives you a stronger version of the restoration, strong dmg from the sunspot utself but also give all solar weapons incandescent, increased scorch stack and bigger and strong ignitions or something like that. Su spot if my fav part of solar titan and I think they need to make a super out of it.

My only hope is that maybe we'll get the forsaken treatment for darkness subclasses and we get a 2nd super for darkness subclasses When I found out that titans had a "minigun" for strand, I really felt bummed out cuz it could have been like a big burst damage ability like Golden gun or some shit. Idk, something like a slow charge on cast and then a flurry of bullets shooting out with explosive rounds that can cause enemies to get tangled on hit if not *die*. Wishful thinking. It feels like they could have really done alot with Titan if they went less with haha funny punch memes and more SPACE KNIGHT type deal y'know? Arc, keep it the punch man as it was intended. Void, lean into the protector more. Solar. PALADIN. They literally could have made a Holy Paladin type sub-class, Stasis ...eh no-one cares about Stasis, kinda wish we had more than yet another punch but i don't have many ideas for that one honestly. and Strand could literally just be Hive Knight the Super. We weave the threads into this massive sword and we can just do all sorts. Crown-splitter animations, blocking similar to old Sentinel shield in that it's only for the Titan, ranged heavy attack etc etc. I'm sure they could do MORE with this idea to be honest but the point is that they honed in on the Archetypes for Hunter and Warlock super well, so why didn't they do the same for Titans? The inspirations and ideas are all there, but they went with the haha funni punch memes rather than space knight. Seriously. We have Space Ninja/Rogue and Space Mage....why don't we have Space Knight?

Another piece of evidence it's so bad is that all the best Titan exotics are usually class neutral. I can run peregrine grieves and shield bash a barrier or an overload champion and get them finishable in a GM. Why the heck would I get excited about an armor piece that gives me 2 shield throws that can't even stun a barrier champion with one shield and now I can stun them with volatile instead?

I'm new to destiny and I chose the titan subclass, and after grinding the lightfall quest, I can say I'm very disapointed, I think the names of the classes should really affect the gameplay, like, when I saw behemoth I thougth it would be an absolute beast, being extremely hard to kill by creating walls around him and his teamates and with absolutly absurd punches that could make the ground shake, but no, I'ts just a titan BUT you can build a singular wall every couple of minutes and the super is just slam the ground again and again ( if you don't die just by trying to get close ), but my point is, I think bungie is focusing in the "unstopable force" part of the titan, when they should have been focusing on the "imovable object" part of the titan as well, like the bubble void super, and I think the titans should not only be able to charge in the enemy but also hold their position as well. (I'm brazilian so i don't speack english that fluently, so if there is any gramatical errors please fell free to let me know and maybe learn from my mistakes)

I do think people are giving the strand titan a too much negative reviews for what it is worth. I do see a common thread with this subclass and that is to constantly be attacking enemies on the frontlines and to engage close range fights with immobilization. Also, the super I would say is more comparable to a spectral blades/ behemoth hybrid. It is a lot more rapid than striker and has a similar light attack to spectral blades in that it gets more and more powerful after every swing. I reference behemoth as that subclass also enables close range attacks with its heavy attack.

I do agree with you to an extent. It is getting a lot of negative attention right now, HOWEVER I believe It's not the responsibility of the consumers or the players to make themsevles excited for the content they make. They failed at making us excited for the Titan class it's not our fault.

I was hoping the titan ability to have a Ironman ches beam ability to do huge dps dmg and suspend enemies a in prox. Or even have a super that creates a ward like dome only bigger that allows Allies increased ability dmg and any npc that enters dome is suspended and is prone to extra dmg

As a warlock main titans supers really need something besides im gorilla i punch then slip on banna and die theres so much they could have done for strand hell in the vidoc they said they didnt want to do something like poison they wanted something only destiny can have. Which as a warlock main its the same deal all our 1 off supers are just utter dog food both nova bombs havent been good in years chaos reach was killed to the ground and the exotic that was good for it got effectively taken out well is the only good solar super and warlock super in general but 2/3 aspects are for top tree dawn which lets be real lets be honest lets be real honest is just ass i dont wanna dash which is alright but you need the floaty aspect to get 2 and it keeps you in the air while you shoot and they just out right removed bottom tree which was better than top tree imo. With all the 3.0s bungie had a chance to give every single class new supers but only hunters did and only 1 at that! I dont even have hope for broodweaver because if its a one and done like the novas or 8 secs like chaos itll be buns either way because for some reason bungie wants us to be minion masters with our super. They said they didnt want it to feel like blade barrage but blade barrage even with the nerf is still really good so whats it to feel like rain drops? Titans deathly need a good range option and no tcrash is not it you still have to get in melee range and run back after you used it hammers are alright but kinda just feels like dawnblade not worth using. Bungie said they didnt want to do what we all thought poison and wanted something unique to destiny man i can load up borderlands if i wanna run around and punch like brick or amara at least there you have other good options besides i have big fist so thats not unique to destiny. Hell even 1 of the new titan aspects is just keprhis but green like come on bungie theres no way in hell youre changing $100 for wasabi from big hero 6. I remember we got taken king with 3 new subclasses for less!

I already knew titans would get another basic melee class, and depending on the aspects we get later on (cause the launch ones sound terrible) titan could end up being turned into something really cool to. Just not the super. That super will never be fun unless it is heavily reworked. Swords coming out of your hands doesn't really play into strands "power of life" theme. A super where you push or pull enemies around or like devour them for buffs or something would though.

Yep. I even get the feel they would have skipped on a new titan subclass if it wasnt basically needed that all 3 classes have the same amount... It may be viable, but strand titan is definitely an afterthought, nothing more (hell even the choice of weapon.. claws are aybe the one weapon where animations need not change much from punching to look good...).

It's the sole reason it's the lowest played class in the game. Even so many people complaining about the class looking really dull their response had me unconvinced they'd do anything about it. They'd need to do another super, and change the melee. Either give us a melee where we pass through enemies since that also doesn't exist in the game currently or give us a melee like the Geth Prime from Mass Effect 3's multiplayer where we can grab an enemy and force choke them. Could be really cool too. You can also make it unique in that it doesn't require a full charge to be used but like sword energy it drains slowly as you hold the button. But instead we get 3 punches and Blade Dancer from D1. Seeing everyone else get so hyped when I'm looking at the Ogre in the room like there is no way you've done this a 5th straight time.

@@scythebez9572 throughout the entire history of Destiny Titans have never been the 2nd most played class. The last poll thing showed that Titans were at even with Warlocks but primarily it's because Titans are strong. Bungie often has had to overcompensate for Titans to be enjoyable because because there isn't some over the top fun or unique playstyle that comes with playing Titan. A lot of Titan mains just master these abilities to a point that we can Tapout raid bosses and then get to see a mid-season nerf come along only to realize just how boring the class is because there isn't anything fun or interesting about it. Fortunately with light 3.0 we've gotten enough busted things they haven't been able to keep up with them all. So for now we've got a decent amount of stuff that I'm sure is on their radar for nerfing soon.

it's because of hunters if you ask me like even the new warlock super is basically nova bomb in green and with blade barrage but a bit changed animations. and i find it hard talking about core identity of warlocks since all or class identity got taken to all classes: healing grenades, devour and ionic traces but what did we got in return we can go invis with finishers yah totally nice. and then look to strand warlock we can eat greandes again wow as someone with 3000 hours on dawnblade im a happy we got a shutdown super finally after all it looks nice i guess but still feels like nova bomb but i am sure that our super is gone get nerfed because of pvp faster then blade barrage after solar 3.0 it's just feels like the used 60% to 70% of their time for hunter development and then realized they run out of time and then just made some different variance of an already existing thing made it green and said good enough. i mean just look to their melee where they get more energy back the better they time it. but as a warlock we have stasis turrets, arc souls, void souls now strand what ever the running things are called that just basically do their element damage and maybe a nother effect. and we have to just sit back and see how hunters are once again bungie favorite.

Right from the beginning it was clear things would go like this, when they started trying to make the classes into stereotypes. With the Titan obviously being pigeon holed as the , “beefy melee class.” Then they started giving it’s features to the Warlock. Problem is, that shxt doesn’t work in a SHOOTER like Destiny, with all these diff subclasses. Especially when they constantly had to nerf Titan survivability in-super, because of PvP. Bottomline is, the Titan melee class RPG motif was more limited than the others right from the beginning esp when Destiny is Not really an MMORPG, and there are not different weapons and dozens of diff types of magic.

@@PocketTuna mobility 22, resil maxed, recovery 63, discipline 96, intellect 38, strength 27 as far as armor stats go, they’re master-worked as well. For mods I’m using solar/strand dual siphon harmonic targeting and solar targeting on the helmet. I’m using impact induction heavy handed and don’t of focus on the arms. Charged up twice on the chest piece for as much armor charge stacks as you can get (5 is plenty). Absolution solar weapon surge and strand weapon surge on the lion rampant boots. And don’t of restoration and time dilation on the mark to maximize your armor charge effectiveness and how long you can keep it active with It’s the constant decay you will have. now for strand fragments I’m using thread of transmutation, thread of fury, thread of generation, and thread of warding. Your free to change things around and mix up stuff at your leisure so it works for you but this is my go to for now I haven’t found too much else i wanna experiment with. I will say firepower and heavy handed together on the arms are amazing because when you do a grapple melee you will drop two orbs cuz it counts as both so yeah try it out tell me what you think all my other titans out there try this as well you might like it.

We're Titans and i will be a Titan main until the end of destiny. But you made some valid points. We could definitely have a super that is a one and done high damage super. Look at what they added for Arc Hunter for example. They gave the hunter a lightning rod you can throw. I play all the classes, I been playing all the classes since 2014. This is silly AF. Titans get some of the best toolkits around, not the least of which is the barricade - which is getting Khepri's Horn functionality built into the class with Lightfall, which none of you have played a single moment of yet. The only thing more consistent than Titans punching things is Destiny players crying about nothing.
