@theman134514 ай бұрын
@baldassodouniversoparalelo6972 meaning he had a hand in writing the shows. Also you're comparing 2014 numbers to 2024 numbers. You have to adjust differently. If wwe at this time 10 years ago was doing a 4.2 and now they are doing a 2.2, they are doing pretty well because of social media engagement. Just admit these shows were terrible
@baldassodouniversoparalelo69724 ай бұрын
@@theman13451 He had not a hand in writing, he was a consultant, not a writer. And this is bullshit, since when 4.2 million in 2014 mean 2.2 million in 2024??? Based on what? Now 2+2=5 in 2024? You are inventing a new kind of math to justify your stupid opinion, fuck Alvarez and fuck Meltzer, AEW sucks and only has 800 thousand in a good day, TNA in 2014 had 1 million +, and that's a fact. The shows being "terrible" is your opinion, you don't like it, fair enough, my point is that this so called "terrible shows" outdrew the 5 star match bonanza and the "serious sport based wrestling" that uncle Dave and Bryan Alvarez have been advocating for years.

Good match. Also I remember he had world title Matches against Angle and Drew Galloway. Would love to see EC3 vs MJF on aew at some point.

I think that when EC3 became TNA World Heavyweight Champion, that's when he cemented himself as a recognisable and worthy face of TNA, and not yet another wrestler from WWE that TNA signed. EC3 was given a great heel run, a decent babyface run and title reigns. You said it best. He had all the tools. The look, the charisma, the wrestling ability. When people think of EC3, they automatically think back to his time in TNA where he beat guys like the Drew McIntyre, Matt Hardy, Kurt Angle, Lashley and Sting and dismiss his wasted WWE return. I believe that he HAS lived up to his potential. It's just a matter of companies not knowing what to do with him for half of the time. Plus, he should have never returned to WWE. EC3 looked MISERABLE during his return there (at least on the main roster).

When it comes to EC3, I never really got why he wasn't a bigger name. He was a two time world champ in TNA but it was just sloppy. He beat Kurt Angle to Win It, had it for about 3 months, then lost it to Matt Hardy, after Hardy pinned Galloway/ McIntyre. He had the title "legally" stripped from Hardy, won it back in a tournament for the second time, but lost it three days later to Matt Hardy In terms of people's reaction to him oh, I typically hear that he is "not a good wrestler" but I was watching him since he was Derrick Bateman on Old NXT. He is a great wrestler, his style just isn't for everyone. Like you said he would have made a killing in the old days. Early 2000s, 90s, 80s

ECIII was actually doing super well up until he left NXT and premiered on the main WWE roster. But he was put up as a Babyface against Dean Ambrose/Jon Moxley before the crowd had bought into a heel gimmick for him. And being a spoiled rich kid gimmick being presented as a BabyFace doesn't help. After that he was reduced to just one more random guy who chased R Truth around to try to get the 24/7 belt. And then once the Pandemic hit, he was released-- but nothing he has done in in the last year really worked despite going through both AEW and RoH and others in that time.

THis one is supersubjective to me, but the one episode where Eric Young had to win a bikini contest to stay on the company will always be the worst for me. A huge part of this is that awfull segment that went on for ages and was teased over and over throughout the episode but the one thing that made it even worse was that it was the last episode that was aired on TV for several years where I live. So untill they found a new TV station here in Germany (which was around when Bully Ray revealed himself as leader of aces and eights) the last thing I saw of TNA was Eric Young in Sponge Bob underwear winning a Bikini Contest against actual knockouts.

Mayu Iwatani, who was LEAGUES better than anyone they had on their roster, held the title for 55 days before losing it right back to Kelly Klein. Despite having a partnership with STARDOM, which has a FANTASTIC roster of women, they rarely used them and mostly treated them like dirt or had them in multi-women matches. It was painful.
