Fork width doesn't matter much. A wider fork means lower power, as the force vectors of the left and right bands are slightly drifting apart. But that also means the draw weight is lower. So you just use a bit more rubber. The fork must be wide enough for the projectile, plus some safety margin.

I'm fairly certain in guns, it helps because the force from the explosion can push the bullet for longer. Also barrels can have groves inside in order to spin the bullet. These two things combined make a more accurate shot. As for guns like this one, it is the same logic. He can use a larger band that has more force and closes over a longer distance resulting in more force on the projectile.

My dad was in the tree trimming biz, so was I at the age 3. Back then there were no toys or us or money, Dad showed me how to make sling shots out of the crotch of branches. Leaned quick which crotches were the best. lol Rubber inner tubes from tires, bag of selected rocks, a pocket knife & a watch to know when to leave school & go to work- I was THEE bad ass in second grade. Carried in my back pocket of my corduroy trousers and cowboy boots. At 55 I am back in slotshot biz~ Melody

You could make some sort of dynamic adjuster for the sights just as it is on sniper rifles. That way you could always adjust your sights to compensate for the distance/wind and make it really accurate.

The sound of those things flying is really amazing. iif possible you should do vids from that kind of angle more often. because one can see the traveled distance better the shots do look a lot more scary. i bet you had your reasons (table close to the chair, no heavy weapontip?) but normally the construction would have been way more steady with the bipod more to the front. Awesome new vid, thx!

thats crazy accurate. one improvement i would probably make would be to trim the feathers on the toilet brushes so its more like a a arrows feathers. that may improve accuracy, but more so, it would decrease the drag and make the shots quicker

true, but you could set up safe houses within a mile or so of eachother and just keep walking between them getting the horde to wander off in one direction or another while you're sitting in a different location entirely. it's not like the average shamblemonts are all that fast, so it'd be easy to make a bunch of noise out at one place, run off, and then go to one of your safehouses for a day or so.

Jorg, if i may sggest, i get the feeling the wide toilet bristles might turn the toilet brush into a floo-floo arrow, the rushing air to me means massive drag perhaps take some scissors to the brushes and experiment n your next video with differing fletch configurations, one idea i'd suggest is ripping out entire rows of bristles to create a pattwern similer to a typical set of arrow fletches perhaps?? or just shortening the LENGTH of each bristles by say half or a 1/4 length to reduce drag?
