Is the plaster stuff around the base modern, or were all these covered? Was it exposed brickwork, or enclosed pillars? The carvings are so intricate.
@EyeoftheSerpent8 ай бұрын
They look modern, a reconstruction of how the plaster would have covered the original pillars.

I wonder what the place looked like when the Tenochca started "acquiring" relics and artifacts from there in the 1300s/1400s.

I would imagine like a recently emptied metropolis

Wow. Amazing. Why is it called the Burnt Palace? And did those square columns hold a roof?
@EyeoftheSerpent8 ай бұрын
To answer both questions at once: Yes, they did support the palace's roof, which had apparently burnt down.

Is it okay for foreigners to learn Nahuatl if they really like to learn it and nahua culture?
@EyeoftheSerpent7 ай бұрын
Back when the Aztec Triple Alliance was in charge, they expected foreigners to learn Nahuatl language and, to some degree, culture. This channel is open to all visitors with open minds and sincere hearts.
