I like how Tom Rose tries to find the easiest way to certify trainers rather than a "nobody make an 'A' in my class" type attitude. You have a great teacher whom you have mirrored very well!

Hi Nate! I really enjoy watching your videos because I'm interested in becoming a dog trainer myself! Do you have any suggestions on what steps I should take?
@NateSchoemer4 жыл бұрын
If you can take the time and afford the school fees then the Tom Rose School would be my first choice. If you want to take a less expensive route, then I would suggest joining a local training club. Protection clubs are great for learning how to be a professional dog trainer. Many of the trainers in protection clubs are professionals and they are usually willing to share their knowledge and experience with other club members. In addition, most protection sports teach advanced obedience as well as agility and protection. This helps you become a well rounded trainer. Below are some links. You can find protection clubs with the links below. Thanks for commenting and watching this video. Unfortunately, I no longer have enough time to answer every question in the comments section of my KZbin videos. However, you can always send me questions through my Patreon. www.patreon.com/NateSchoemer Most of the questions asked have already been answered in one of my past videos. The basic obedience series has been designed to be watched to maximize results. I would also suggest watching my Q&A videos that are available on my channel as well. Many of the questions are also answered in my dog training manual, which is available on Amazon. amzn.to/2P2tyQH Lastly, if you're curious about what food, treats, or training products that I use, you can see them listed here: www.nateschoemer.com/store

I know this has nothing to do with the video but do you have any tips on how to slowly introduce dogs. I have a 12 year old pomeranian who has never shared a house with another dog. My grandad decided to get a German shepherd puppy out of the blue and im the main one taking care of it. Any tips please. My dog is not aggressive she just doesnt want to be near him.
@NateSchoemer4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I like to walk each dog separately, so I know I have control. Then I walk them both together, one on each side of my body. You can have someone help with this as well. After I walk around the neighborhood, I then walk both dogs into the yard at the same time. Once in the yard, I let them loose to play, as long as they were not showing any signs of aggression during the walk. It's also good to have the water hose ready incase they decide to fight. Spraying a water hose will stop most dog fights. I hope this helps! :)

What disappoints me is how "dog lovers" aka dog trainers know that majority of dogs are untrained and don't get loved as much as they would if they were trained just basic commands yet they make their training cost astronomical! I was looking around before I found nates videos and it was $1000 for 4 sessions for a puppy! I was like that's outrageous especially knowing that you got 10 15 mins with a puppy then you gotta give them a decent break! If you want to have them trained them for SAR at a training facility your talking 5 grand

@@MrNotech So whisper the search command? Sirens of police on the way to the scene?
@stevenjolley99882 жыл бұрын
@@mclyker good question, but if sound activated means some kind of vibration activation, so it is smart to be a silent response from the dog.
