Damn I didn't realize Correa has averaged over 7 rWAR per 162, that's higher than guys like Machado, Soto, Arenado, Acuna, Harper, Vlad, and J-ram have, yet it never seems like he is talked about as a top ten player like those guys are. Though it is worth mentioning that Fangraphs does view him a lot less enthusiastically, particularly by defense, having over 8 less fWAR, though 31 fWAR by the end of your age 27 season with a 5.7 fWAR per 162 average is nothing to scoff at.

Just two years after a breakout season with 33 HRs at Tampa Bay in 2021, Mike Zunino was traded to Cleveland. He started out well but slowly slid towards the Mendoza line with a minimum amout of power. A totally different player. The Guardians finally gave up on Zunino and released him. Whether he makes it back to the Show remains to be seen. At 32, he may have peaked. A good kid and a UFla legend, he had a decent career but fell short of real stardom.

Unfortunately, I’m a twins fan and man do I love watching buxton play. I’m happy we locked him down with a long contract, but I’m terrified that his career his gonna end up being like a David wright career. And the thing is it would be even worse because we haven’t even seen ONE full year of buxton playing yet. I’m honestly losing faith in him and it makes me extremely sad because he’s a mvp caliber player but he just cannot stay on the field for a full year.

Imo if the player makes it to the majors then he can't be a bust. The odds of any minor leaguer making is astronomically low.
@AndThatsBaseball2 жыл бұрын
I understand that line of thinking but I feel like top 10 picks are expected to at least make some impact at the big league level. Someone like Dahl, for example, is tough to call a bust cuz he at least contributed for a little bit, but someone like Zimmer never really did anything and was drafted a couple picks ahead of a star pitcher. Anything beyond the top 20 picks or so and it gets really random really fast. Hard to call any non first rounder who makes the league a bust imo.
