Dom Brown just brings back painful memories. Almost every team in baseball was willing to give up everything for him until of course he finally became full time starter.

Sucks that Jesus Montero didn’t have a better/longer career in the mlb. When I was a kid I went to a ton of games when he was playing for the mariners AAA affiliate and he threw me quite a few third-out balls over the course of those seasons. One time he even hit a homer in BP and then signed the ball for my mom on her birthday.

Ugh Jesus Montero.. I'm a mariner fan and that was a bad time. The Pineda trade looking back was brutal. Oh come on Ackley as well!? Oh this is brutal to watch. I had so much hope.. you are right the mariners failed him. It's brutal when you know who the club passed over in the draft
@AndThatsBaseball3 жыл бұрын
Mariners had some talented guys in the early 2010s, sucks that they could never put it all together around king Felix. Ackley and Montero were supposed to be two generational contact hitters. I’m a Yankees fan, they were comparing Jesus to Miggy, then we traded him. Idk what we saw, maybe the bad work ethic, but Cashman sold at the right time.
@Zaron_Gaming3 жыл бұрын
@@AndThatsBaseball at least you are a fan of a successful team. It boggles my mind to know that everything from 02-20 was pure mediocre at best. So many good players it's honestly to wrap the brain around it. Another one you can say the Mariners nearly broke was Zunino rushing him from AA to a crucial piece of the team. Just goes to show what bad management does to a club.
@AndThatsBaseball3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I feel like Yankees fans feel entitled sometimes. So many people wanna say fire Cashman when he’s never had a team below .500 and he’s always finding great deals on undervalued players. Even this year, we’ve had an insane amount of injuries yet we’re still competitive, I’m very lucky to root for this team.

As also a Mariners fan, I somehow am both relieved and disappointed that you didn't bring up the "I've cream sandwich incident." As far as Ackley goes, I legit feel bad for him because Jack Z really did screw him. Jack Z literally had the strategy for a few years of "2nd basemen are usually really athletic, so we should get as many 2nd basemen as we possibly can and play them wherever, and I'm sure it will work out fine," and then would wonder why the team was usually near it at dead last in fielding. I remember there being a few games where I figured out there were like 4 or 5 2nd basemen playing in random places around the field. It should be noted that Jack Z is also the guy who later signed Robinson Cano just to make sure that no future M's 2nd base prospect would ever have the chance to come up to the majors playing his native position.

IDEA FOR A VIDEO …. .. that somebody probably already commented, or another the KZbinr may be already made but AnyWho I think it would be really interesting to see what rounds or picks in draft either what ranking of prospects (like prospects with the ranking of 13 through 26 for an example ) have the best odds of becoming successful in the bigs. And since I know that whole long run on sentence was confusing another idea for a video that I haven’t seen is a top 10 of prospects with the number one ranking (or with in the top 10 prospect rankings) that ended up having successful careers with the guy at the top of the list having the best careers.
