Great video! The humor is incredibly good as always, and the list is pretty good too. I myself would add Nostalghia, Sans Soleil, Rumble Fish and L'Argent. If you're covering 1943 next, check out Day Of Wrath, Colonel Blimp and Shadow Of A Doubt. If you're covering 1984 next, there are many films to see, but the three big ones for me are Amadeus, Once Upon A Time In America and Paris, Texas. My personal favorite of 1984 is Stop Making Sense with the Talking Heads, but I don't really know if you can call it a film or a recorded live performance. Cheers!

Great to see another 80's list up, some of my favorite's in your list especially the Right Stuff which would be up there as one of my favorite films of the decade, I was compiling my list from what was left over and was surprised that what I initially felt would be a weak year had a lot of my favorites. Some of these choices may be of dubious quality to others but hold a place in my heart: (10) Staying Alive, I loved this film at the cinema and was shocked when none of my friedns enjoyed it and it was roundly derided by all, I watched it last year and though it has its issues, I still love it.. (9) Pauline on the Beach- Eric Rohmer has so many great films but this is one of my favorites. (8) Wargames- My kids hate this film and I have tried to get them to watch it on numerous occasions but they no nothing, stone cold family classic. (7) Uncommon Valour There were so many of these Vietnam based B movies in the 80's with very dodgy politics for me this film is saved by Gene Hackman's performance. (6) The Outsiders- Every star of the decade trapped in one teen film, concluded with a great tune from Stevei W, get your tissues out. (5) L'argent- a pretty downbeat film but I love Robert Bresson the master of the Bleak. (4) Silkwood- The only film in which I would rate a performance from Cher, quite a down beat film but a very underappreciated one. (3) Blue Thunder- An action film with a warning of corporate power and the industrial Military Complex coming together, moody and bonkers at the same time. (2) Tender Mercies- I think you highlighted the popularity of weepies and this is another for me but so much more family, love and country music. (1) Rumble Fish-First seen on Moviedrome I love this film, very pretentious but what a performance from Mickey Rourke channeling the ghost of Marlon B, he never again hit those heights for me. Roll on 84.

I made my kids watch wargames, it was a childhood great for me. I think it just depends on their developmental age that you present it to them, as everyone is a little different. I got lucky for the time I showed it to them and they generally liked it. I kind of had to position hollywood to them in a carefully planned out way. I know they get a slanted view point as they see modern movies so I have to withold and make them watch some old movies first. Otherwise they just won't hold up for them. It's quite a challenge and where they are now, they can't really handle anything but action, some suspense, and hardly no slow drama works for them at any year of the movie. To keep them motivated I do have to throw in a modern movie from time to time. Basically, I rotate genre's between space/sci fi, ancient war, cops/crime, underwater/ocean, modern military, then occasional just give them one of their choosing.

Perfectly understandable, typo level mistake corrected: Gus Grissom died in the disastrous Apollo 1 mission not Apollo 11. I have watched twenty or more vids on the channel. This is the only mistake I've spotted. Which is awfully bloody impressive.

I actually need to watch The Keep. Angst is great. You can see it's influence on Gaspar Noé and Lars Von Trier. I saw it a while back but because it's so nasty I think I blocked it out of my mind. It really should have been on the list!
