I agree with you about the Spyderco Astute. That has barely left my pocket since buying it this summer. In fact the only reason it doesn’t get carried every day is because I had to make time for the CJRB Ria.

I hear you on Two Sun; they're up to 250-260 models last I checked. I ended up selling my TS-06 and still regret letting it go. Interesting choice on the #1. That one slipped my notice.

You may have just talked me into checking out the Steel will scylla. I like weird stuff, but I really like weird stuff that turns out to be a pleasure to use and at a good price point. I think my favorite knife this year is between the deka and the Malibu. Your right on the Malibu. Its not much of a looker, but I love using and fidgeting it. Now that is getting colder here in Connecticut, Im starting to remember why I'm not a fan of the aluminum scales. I almost dread when I have to use it if I don't have gloves.

The Malibu is really good, but it just wasn't memorable for me. That said, a lot of times with loaners I don't make the connection as easily, because like with the Scylla, using it a lot really helps tie me to a knife. Also, do I still have the box for the Malibu? I can't remember if you sent it and I'm pretty sure if you did I didn't send it back.

Great picks for top 10 JT! I like how your picks were unique from everyone else's. That TwoSun is probably my favorite of the knives you chose. Such a clean, simplistic great design. The Hogue Deka would be my second favorite. Great video once again JT! Hope you and your family had a great/Merry Christmas. Watching this....I would say one knife that I purchased in 2020 that may fit into this kind of price structure (as I have bought more expensive knives), would be my WE Kitefin. (I confess...I bought nothing on this list! 😬). I would not mind checking out a Mini Presidio II, though. I think that they can be had from White Mountain Knives for about $138 total shipped. I have one of the limited edition copper shred ones...but it was not much more. What a GREAT knife. It does a lot for the money...and if they had countersunk the clip..it would have been perfect! What a great knife, though!

Happy to see the Mini Presidio on the list. While I certainly don't handle the same volume of knives as someone like you...It's MY favorite of the year! (Of course, I'm not sure I handled ANY of the other knives on your list). I loved it enough to seek out the aluminum version, just to have a carry option. ;)

Twosun now have improved there heat treatments, however I have not found a design good enough for a user. They are literally all art knives not for users. And they pump out so many of them. They don't even have an iconic user model like say a Delica or a Blur for example. So good heat treatments goto waste. They could try and clone a good users design and still fail at its design for that purpose. That's how bad there execution is.

Really enjoyed this video! I think you have me convinced on the Scylla and the Piet. Also, that is the second TwoSun that has really caught my attention but I wish there were more available. Any particular thing outside of what you mentioned in your 10 things about the Penguin that made it a runner up instead of a winner? Scales can't put it in top 10? Also, I wanted to say I appreciate that you focus on the model of the knife to review and not on a specific edition of the model. I always find it frustrating when a sprint gets reviewed and the focus of the review is on the blade steel you can't buy or whatever.

As for the Penguin, naw, nothing really bad about it except for the fact that there are so many other good ones that i liked more. A lot of these decisions are subjective though, and you can't really say how good knife is by where it is on the list. And thank you, I appreciate the support and kind words. Have a great new year!

That was a very interesting list, very different from most of the others I've seen so far but that is a good thing 👍, there's some knives on your list I didn't even know existed 😀! Have to get myself a Mini-Presidio now I guess... The Scylla? perhaps... the non-reversible pocket clip bothers me (that's me as a leftie being frustrated 😂)

Interesting list. I have pretty mixed feelings about Steel Will. I have sold every one I've ever owned. However, I recently picked up a full size Gekko with micarta scales and love it (I owned the mini w/g10 and did not like the smoothness of the scales). So this may be the one that stays.

Great Job bro... good selection of knives I want to get more Steel Will Cutjack, Modus Scilla. Need to get some Civivi’ sassy well. I did buy OG Para 3 and Sage 5 not lightweights. Bought my first SMG Strider it’s awesome for any job. I want to get that Ferrum Forge knife I forget them but it’s cheap. I ultimately am wanting the Protec Ferrum Forge Mordax in blue. red. I really super-dig my Siren too! Is your backlock/blade a little sloppy up and down? With pivot adjusted. I love how easy it is to sharpen and polish.Probably going to pick up a Presidio CF-Elite at some point too. I have a SuperFreek but it’s not an awesome slicer. The Deka is 💯! The Hogue G-10 is called G-mascus.

I looked at the full size Presidio in a store. I like it, except the handle is too thick for my preference for EDC. I wish they would make a slim version (under 0.50"). The Mini is a bit thinner. I was underwhelmed by the Hogue Deka. They fibbed about the weight, and why are there so many screws sticking up above the G-10?

I've had a couple Harnds knives and they were just fine. Nothing that blew me away or impressed me too much (compared to all the other companies doing similar things) but the knives I've handled were well built, so if I liked a design I'd probably enjoy it.

@@JTsKnifeLife is there anything you can adjust on a knife to keep it from failing open? It has a flipper and thumbs studs, it’s a heavier blade, I can open it fully but have to give it a wrist flick, it closes perfectly, hopefully I didn’t get a bogus knife that got by Quality Control.

While the SOG Stout is a nice knife, I have a hard time seeing it as a better knife than the very similarly sized/constructed/priced Civivi Odium.
