I was so relieved to see Secrets Akumal as your #1!! It is an absolute amazing resort, we went last September and we were blown away. We were preferred club, ocean front swim out and the room was everything. We used the swim out pool every morning and evening. The room service was spectacular and the restaurant staff & chefs took note of our dietary restrictions and prepared sugar free/gluten free desserts for us without us even having to ask. The concierge service was next level and they provided so many extras that made the trip special and memorable. The beach was amazing and the beach service was exceptional. It was such a lush and pretty resort. I would recommend this resort to anyone!!!!

Great video. Was surprised Secrets Aura Cozumel didn't make the cut. Been to 5 of the top 5, Cozumel was on of my favorites. Especially the water slide outside the rooms that lead to the pool bar.

Maroma is our favorite. Way better than Sandals too and we were in St Lucia Sandals. Maroma- service is by far the best, staff is fabulous and always helpful, breakfast buffet is south BOMB and the different fun themed dinners are great too. Won’t go anywhere but there, especially since they know us after five times visiting!!

We went to Cap Cana last year and though the resort is moderately sized, the beach size is amazing. The preferred option definitely pays off here but there was no shortage of open chairs (May 2021). We are looking to try the Jamaica options this year to switch things up:

Great video as always. My wife and I were betting whether it was Akumal or Maroma but you can’t go wrong with either one. I personally also liked my stay at Secrets The Vine, the food there was fantastic! We reserved our suite at the new Secrets Moxche for December so we’re excited to visit this new property. Vanessa, This was right on point! I have been to Secrets Akumal, my personal #1 and Maroma, my #2, so you got it right. I enjoyed Secrets Cap Cana (Best beach) I was there in July 2021, and as you said, it was the food that was "MEH". I agree Wild Orchid and Montego Bay should be in the running, but at # 10. Also, note to viewers, uh, Wild Orchid/Mo Bay has A LOT of jellyfish in the water (Eww, been there 2 times) YOU NAILED IT. I cannot comment on the others, but DO plan on visiting Costa Rica in 2023 cause I am booked up for 2022 and I also plan on visiting Los Cabos in 2023 as well. Note, Secrets Moxche' is now opening February 11th 2022. We were just notified that we had to relocate as we were visiting in the first week of February, so we chose Maroma and Akumal for 11 days. Thanks for the video.

Just went the to Secrets: The Vine in February, so I have some updates. The only food available after midnight was from room service and most of the buffet food was just passable. The sit down restaurants were a 7-8/10, and the coffee everywhere was divine. Cocktails were good, but not very strong unless you asked for double shots. Good thing the pools were nice, because the beach was tiny and the water was too rough to swim.

Fabulous video as always!!! I just came back from Dreams Punta Cana. The rooms were very dated but other than that I had a fabulous time!! Their service outstanding, so I am Now an AM resorts fan. I am going to do Breathless Los Cabos for my birthday in March. I'm so excited about that. And I think sometime in the near future I will be trying the new secrets location. 😍🏝🧳✈

My travel agent calls Cap Cana the “Best Value in all the Carribean”. She herself goes twice a year! We just went and LOVED it!! Very chill and relaxing vibe but they do have a lot of fun options including a nightly show and live music as well as dance lessons and water aerobics (way more fun than it sounds). The spa is also NOT to be missed!!

Great video. I am at Secrets Akumal during the release of this video. It is amazing. Great beach, pools, restaurants and very couple friendly. Not too loud and preferred club rooms are closer to the beach and main pool. Mild cons are distance from airport and some seaweed at times on beach. I am willing to answer questions about the resort if you reply to this comment.

@@tinatodd3522 yes they do have some gluten free options at the buffet that are marked as such and some restaurants especially the French restaurant have gluten free items on the regular menu. You should be able to see menus on line.

Thank you for the video! We went to Secrets Hautulo, but unfortunately, it was June 2021 therefore midpandimic. Property and area were beautiful, great food and service was top notch. We had the pleasure of doing a couple off property excursions through the resort, 7 bay tour and went to the magic waterfall. Our only complaints are the sand is rough (used to Florida gulf sand) and the ocean isn't swimmable. Excited to try some of the other Secrets resorts soon.

I have emailed Secrets Majorca three times, but they never bothered to reply. I am booked for a week in March, and I was wondering whether I could smoke on the balcony of my room, obviously wouldn’t want to smoke inside the room. As for Paguera , I have been before in a different smaller beachfront hotel, and I really liked the atmosphere of Paguers, no rowdy youngsters,abundant choice of seafront restaurants, many with a German oriented food theme, bus stop outside hotel, plenty of very reasonably priced tourist shops on the one high street it’s got and easy to get to the rest of Majorca for excursions and only about 30 mins to Palma airport by car .

I never comment on KZbin videos, so this is a rarity. I have been to Mexico many, many times. However, I have never stayed a Secrets Resort and I have been flip flopping back and forth between Akumal and Maroma. I had pretty much settled on Akumal as the husband and I love snorkelling and your video has made up my mind! Until I saw Moxche.. However, I have heard the beach there is not quite up to par, hence why they invested so much in the lagoon pool. But still think Akumal is our best bet until Moxche is maybe a little more established. I would be interested in seeing a review if you head there. Whitney from grey and wet London! :)

We just got back from Secrets Cap Cana and it was incredible! We were expecting the food to be subpar, but it was actually head and shoulders above Excellence Playa Mujeres where we went last year. The beach is every bit as amazing as you said! The only thing I’d disagree with besides the food quality is the people who go. We experienced a lot of groups while we were there - it could’ve been a fluke, but it was annoying to have loud music playing even if we were at the beach at times. The resort itself was fantastic though!!

Also, the cabanas at SCC are a charge like at Maroma, and romantic spots are noted on the map like at Akumal! I’m sure there are a lot of similarities at Secrets resorts, but I loved hearing the differences!

We just got back from Cap Cana last month (June) and the seaweed was horrible. It was the only downside for us. Lots of honeymooners and very chill vibe. We felt it was almost too quiet! The food also was phenomenal. I never ate that much in my life!!

was just in Huatulco, beautiful location but very tired and definitely not 5 star. The food was inconsistent and really not very good. We did however swim at the beach every day, there is some current but not terrible and if you go to the left side the snorkeling is pretty good.

Was pleased to see Acumal as 1st, and was anxiously waiting if St. Martin would make it to the 10:) that was a waste of money- the most expensive(even with 60% off deal), and the worst kept property, just ok food, and NO service, NONE! Do not go there. Though nature is great there. That’s the location where it’s better to book alacarte hotel or RB&B

My husband and I went to Secrets Playa Mujeres for our 15th anniversary. It is not in the hub of it all...so if you're looking for more of a "stay on resort and enjoy the relaxation time" it is a beautiful resort. We enjoyed ourselves.

Hi Vanessa. I had booked Secret St Martin two times as part of my UVC membership. Both times I had to cancel with full refund due to pandemic reasons. Is more to the reason why I canceled twice? Hi Terry! Thank you so much, I really appreciate that ☺️ That location isn’t great which is why it didn’t make my list. Usually if a location doesn’t make my Top 10, there’s a reason for it. Make sure you check each country’s specific corona restrictions and requirements bc many resorts are just abiding by whatever the countries require. Hope this helps!

Hello! I’ve been watching your videos for about a year now. Thank you so much for all of your excellent information! I need your advice. My kids told me to pick an all inclusive for my 50th in about a year and a half. We would be in the moderate financial zone and would have many active young adults, 12 year old and active adults that mostly have never been to an all inclusive. I would love a resort that has private areas, flowers, foliage, beautiful, secluded pathways and beach areas. Of course the food and options are important. I would love the kids to be happy with the pool and activities, also nearby excursions. I have been wanting to do an all inclusive for years and your info is great but so much of it. This video left me thinking about the #2 choice but it is adults only. I would love the Caribbean or an island. Mexico is also fairly close to home on the west coast. Any advice, comments, suggestions? Thank you!!!

Hi Laurel! Do you have a budget in mind? It seems like one of the Family All-Inclusive Resorts might be best so there's something for everyone in your group. My top 10 All Inclusive Family Resorts might be a good place to start.

Ive been to both" Excellence El' Carmen" & the Beloved resort. They were both beautiful but Excellence El' Carmen was our favorite.

I have been wanting to try Secrets but a couple of years ago my travel agent told me they were mostly for couples. Is that true? I do see from the video some of them do cater to couples.

I don’t think they’re technically only for couples, but I’ve mostly seen couples as guests and they definitely do cater to them. Hope this helps!

I am surprised Secrets Playa Mujeres didn't make it. Where would that or Secrets Playa Blanca land on your list of secret resorts?
