There’s a difference between a choke and a throw, guys. A throw is when you make a terrible decision that makes you lose. A choke is when you lose when it looks like you had it in the bag. A throw can be a choke, but not all chokes are throws. S1mple and Woshige threw, Tweek just choked.

@@Carlisho Throw vs choke is a matter of bad decision vs bad gameplay imo. Throw is when you drop your advantage by a terrible decision (you are 100% in control of what you're doing, but what you're doing is just stupid/bad it drops all your advantage). Choke is when someone just.. stop playing well. There's no huge blunder or anything, but you just stop playing well enough and the enemy starts to comeback. Canadian could barely see a pixel of their head and he still didn’t move his mouse, if I’m honest, if he used the K1A he wouldn’t have choked, because the C75 has really chunky iron sights. Also, that angle isn’t even a necessary angle to hold on Oregon because if you go into objective, there are 2 bunk beds to hide behind, a wardrobe and a locker. If he stayed inside he wouldn’t have cost his team the game because he would’ve had the ability to help in a gunfight AND call out, all while waiting for them to push staircase. And seeing as this was pre-rework, he could’ve wallbanged them, once he heard them going up stairs. But don’t worry guys, I’m just a Gold III. I’d NEVER know how to not throw a game.
@kyida4 жыл бұрын
OH BOY, CHEESE it’s actually a very strong angle to hold but at high competitive play it’s well known, he definitely messed up that round but you can’t put it all on one player. I’m not sure why he stood up but he used the C75 for the Fire rate which in that situation would’ve been better if he didn’t mess his shots

Quick nitpick about the MKLeo vs Tweek set, he didn't need to win 6 in a row. He was down 2-0 so he needed 3 in a row to reset the bracket but after that it was another normal Best of 5, so he could have given up 2 games then and still won. That said, MKLeo did get 6 in a row to get the win, but it wasn't necessary to take the event

Zven’s throw is karmic justice for bming Jensen by flashing Ekko during champ select If you don’t know what that means, before this, one of the biggest LCS throws happened when Jensen went into a late game team fight as Ekko with ult and Zhonya’s up but died immediately without using either

The accepted use of “throw” in competition is “to intentionally lose.” This is a video of is commonly called a”choking,” except for number one - that was a legitimate throw!

To the 10. place: It's quite easy to fail an awp shot on that range so it isn't even the worst decision to knife. And nitro only had 17 hp left in a 1v2 situation while the bomb was planted. So it wasn't s1mples fault. He did a lot of damage and his two teammates were simply not clever/good enough (in that situation) to play the bomb timer off und do 17 damage.

OK, as someone who knows about GG I wanted to give some more info on Woshige's blowup. Woshige didn't lose the round before he sat back down - actually Ogawa's play was way more big brain than that. Instead, Ogawa waited for Woshige to panic and hit a button, then COUNTER HIT him for maximum advantage and with the resources he had that was the end of the round. Ogawa didn't beat Woshige while he was AFK - Ogawa actually WAITED for Woshige to realize his mistake, panic, run back to his stick and hit something before finally acting. Way cooler than just KOing your opponent because he's AFK.

I think Dafran’s literal throw also deserves to be on there - he purposely lost a match

eUnited at IW champs is the most heartbreaking choke in esports ever. You REALLY should do a mini-doc on that eUnited COD team.

I could've seen S2J not only dropping a possible 3-0 on Armada in tourney, but also dropping the fact that he was the only Captain Falcon to have a chance at beating Armada ever. All he needed to do was get one edge guard...

Absolutely. Just google “throws in sports.” Then google “chokes in sports.” Only number one on this list is what everyone in every sport would call “throwing.” All the others are what all sports players, fans, and writers call “choking.” Imagine if the video was “Top Ten Matches in Esports,” but it was a video of inflammatory insults that ignited anger. We want esports to be taken seriously by non-gamers too.
