The Top 15 Big Brother Players - ALL PARTS (1-3)

Hello! Coming back roughly a year later, I thought it would be fun to see how my opinion has changed on certain players and which players I'd keep the same and which players I'd switch: 1. I'd probably take Enzo off the list at this point. I go back and forth on it, but I may put someone like Tiffany there instead (I'd still have Enzo in like the 16-18 range) 2. I'd switch Eric and Hayden (Hayden now at 14, Eric at 13) 3. I'd switch Jun and Maggie (Maggie now at 12, Jun at 11) 4. Probably the biggest change, but I'd move Cody down to 6, Danielle up to 5, and Andy up to 4. This is due to a mix of me possibly overrating Cody's ability at the time as well as me becoming more impressed with Danielle and Andy and what they were able to accomplish. I don't think Cody could pull off the moves that Danielle and Andy did, and I value that higher than Cody's ability to win a comp when he's in danger. That's all the changes I would make right now, but I'm sure as time goes on I'll have more changes I'd want to make!

I personally think Danielle and Andy should also be above Derrick, but that’s just me. Honestly I respect your opinion about Derrick’s win being the single most impressive win of all time, but personally I think he benefitted a lot from being in a weak cast with people willing to form a mega alliance rather than playing more intelligently. Even beyond the reset button, Derrick was on a season filled with misogyny and bullying, and while it is impressive how he managed to stay off the block so long with the battle of the block twist, I just think in a different season the cracks in both his and Cody’s games would really show. Plus, compare their games to Will, Andy or Dan and I would argue those three did way more strategically to win their seasons, whereas Derrick and Cody had a lot handed to them. That’s just my perspective and while I think both of them are pretty awful people, I can put that aside when expressing how I find their winning games to be overrated!

One thing I’ve come to realize is just how incredibly good Dan’s “weak persona” was at helping his game. It allowed both sides of the house to think he was a number for them, but when Jessie was evicted, most of the other side assumed that it wasn’t Dan’s doing (mind you, it wasn’t) but that he was strongarmed into it by Keesha and Libra, who took the heat. I’m sure if Memphis were evicted, a similar feeling would have occurred. Michelle almost instantly came back around to him, and only Jerry was genuinely upset with Judas-I mean, Dan. He had an incredible willpower in the game where most of the house thought they could strongarm him (see: April trying to get Dan to use the POV, all of Dan’s first HOH with Ollie) but he never was going to back down from it. And then, the Funeral. My goodness what a masterclass. Yes, it hurt his standing with Britney and eventually Frank, but in what world do they give Dan a jury vote anyway? They both would have cut him and shipped him to Jury to go to the end with Shane/Jenn. It’s also not talked about enough how incredible it is to completely turn your number one enemy into one of your closest allies. Dan turning Frank is absolutely incredible, but gets overshadowed by the flashiness of the Funeral. Same thing where Amanda turning Elissa gets overshadowed by the formation of the Exterminators. The Exterminators wouldn’t have had to work nearly as hard as they did if Amanda couldn’t pull the rabbit out of her hat and get Elissa to vote with her.

Erika asked her a jury question on if personal attacks were part of her strategy. She hindered that answer so bad Erika and Robert just shook their heads, it was a thing that Jun would be very upfront with the other houseguests about her dislikes which made them see her as mean. They didn't want either Alison or Jun to win the game and it is clear on the jury questions and voting

Paul is such an interesting person to rate. Really feels like Russell in Survivor. A very talented player at maneuvering (even if both got lucky once with Paul having Victor return a few times and Russ having Tyson vote himself out)... but both also fail to realize that if you get to the end and everyone you voted out hates you, then you finish as runner up. Feels like both would have had a better chance with a couple years between playing.

1:02:42 I’d love to see a video on BB siblings / family and how it helped / hindered competitors coming in. I know Rachel’s sister was an automatic target, but the twist that season kept saving her because America loved Rachel. whereas with Paulie, he expected to do well because his brother made final two (and won?). He expected to be loved as well. One was definitely more likable than the other (although Paulie on the Challenge has put a bad taste in my mouth). When Danielle came back for a second season she had to work to gain trust because of Evil Dick etc. Not sure if there have been other siblings / cousins / etc.

I’m glad Hayden Moss made the list. BB12 was the first season that I kept up with constantly through online live feed updates. He was my favorite player from the start and to this day he has been my only preseason favorite to go all the way and win. If only he could have played on the recent all stars instead of Enzo.

I do think Nicole deserved to win over Paul on BB18, but Paul's best game is BB19. And the way I look at it is Paul's best game on BB19 is better than Nicole's best on BB18, and Paul's 2nd best on BB18 is easily better than Nicole's on BB22 (where she nearly went out at Final 8, and was happy to throw away the win to Cody by taking him and losing for sure if she won final HOH). The only argument in Nicole's favor is she actually won, but then again the argument in Paul's favor is he made F2 twice, and an even bigger one is he made Final 2 on his first season while Nicole had a mediocre showing in her first season.

Another thing about Nicole that many people don't bring up is that she always got to play with a Califiore brother in each of her seasons. Paulie and Cody both propelled Nicole's game in 18 and 22. Paul's closest ally in 18 was probably Victor, and he got to final 2 in 19 without Victor's help.

​@@thecamishere4344 The reason he is so highly rated is his influence. He took the clean slate of the game and created multiple staples. His strategies, while revised, are still so prominent in today's game. During all stars, Boogie definitely helped his situation, but Will's social game is unmatched. The fact that he was only evicted because he wouldn't cheat on his fiance shows just how dominant he was. He was fearless, entertaining, and strategic, making people love and hate him simultaneously. While he has many flaws and errors, he wasn't shown even a blueprint of the game. He went in and just started building.

​@thecamishere4344 I'd say Ian might not be top 10 but apart from the scenarios which would have knocked him out, he definitely should get credit for making it to F2 without a single eviction vote casted against him in S14, not to mention that he's definitely one of those feel good winners because he's representing people on the spectrum and also took advantage of the fact that Dan pissed off the jury too much despite having a more superior gameplay. If anything, I'd rather see Ian take down Dan as supposed to Danielle doing so, even though Dan was my winner's pick.

He deserves at least T15, especially since Dan is #1, Ian was partially coached up by Dan during that game, and executed a decent amount of "hands in the kitchen, clean of blood" strategy Dan pulled in BB10. Top 5? Probably not, but definitely deserves that. Same with Kaysar and Janelle, granted, this list is seemingly more of a "by any means necessary" strategy list. Especially if Andy is listed here too.

Will should be #1. Had anyone but Erika won Final 5 Veto in S7, he would've been in a situation where he was guaranteed to be taken to the finals by every remaining houseguest (Boogie, Janelle, George) and would've destroyed anyone of them in a jury vote as well, despite all 3 of them knowing that Dr. Will was the greatest and most dangerous player of all time at that point. Dan really had no shot at winning S14. He made the finals yes, but he didn't do a great job of managing the jury and gaining their respect. Basically despite going out at 4th, Will was actually closer to winning a 2nd time than Dan because he was one Veto away from it (and a Veto he didn't even have to win mind you, just anyone but Erika), whereas Dan wasn't winning a jury vote.

You know something? I don't think I ever fully understood this until now, but whenever I see Josh winning Big Brother over Paul, I am reminded that no matter how smart you are, no matter how strong you are, no matter how much of a superfan you are, the game of Big Brother is not a game that was ever meant to "make sense" or "be understood" by any human intelligence. It is a reminder that nobody can ever be perfect, nobody can always be right or wrong. But also, Paul losing BB to Josh reminds me that just like in real life, it is not our abilities who show who we truly are. It is our choices. EDIT: okay, fine. I got that last part from Harry Potter, but it's still one of my favorite quotes, and I think it holds up here. =P

I think the more time passes the more I’m convinced Taylor might deserve a spot on here, maybe not top ten or anything, but on here. Her ability to salvage her social game that was in huge trouble based on seemingly inconsequential stuff she had minimal control over and becoming a near-unanimous winner against an EXTREMELY capable opponent is incredible. The MOMENT Taylor gained some social footing a coalition of people formed in part around her. Then she was playing between the Monte/Turner and Michael/Brittany alliances - players deemed bigger threats - and then convince the most strategically successful player in the game that his BEST FUCKING FRIEND who was seen as his lackey the entire game was a bigger threat. Combine an excellent jury speech and a couple of clutch HoH’s and it’s clear how impressive her game is.

I would put Dr Will on number one only because that if he made it to the end, he would have won. Yes, Dan made it to the end, but the point of Big Brother is get to the end and get the jury vote for you. Will didn’t need a coaches twist. The only misstep Will did is he overplayed about Chilltown having a third secret member. Dan is definitely at the top two, but he just couldn’t win in the end for BB14.

DERRICK. He is and always will be number one. I know he hasn’t played twice so a smaller sample size, but he’s the best. Cody took him to the final two knowing he would lose to Derrick in a landslide lol dan is number two and will at 3. The season will win, he was playing against a bunch of children. He was the only really gameplayer and playing the same game in allstars got his head chopped off eventually. He’s a one trick pony. It’s a pretty entertaining trick, but won’t fool people twice

I think even without the Coup, she still wins. Because if not, Russell goes at F9 4-3, Michelle still wins HOH, puts up Chima and Natalie, Chima still goes. Jordan wins HOH at F7, puts up Lydia and probably Jessie. Jordan wins veto, Jessie goes home 3-2. Jeff wins F6 HOH, Natalie and Lydia go up, Lydia goes home 2-1. Then the rest of the season plays out like normal, and Jordan still wins

On Paul I do think if Jessica puts Alex up against Paul at the Final 13, Paul might well go home. Jason OBVIOUSLY is never voting out Alex so now voting Paul. Cody is voting out Paul. Ramses is definitely voting out Paul, if Jessica spares him, and tells him too. It comes down to Mark and Elena, dumb and dumber, but I would like to think since they are friends with Jessica, and Paul had no real allegiance to them they would evict Paul with Jessica telling them to in this scenario. 5 votes is enough, since Jessica would send him out in a 5-5 tie. Kevin was in the middle of the house at this point, and not really with Paul, so he also could vote Paul out if Jessica asked him to.
