Dr. Will is so good because his strategy is almost impossible to replicate he’s annoying but also charming. He let everyone tear each other apart while waiting on the sidelines eating popcorn. He completely removed himself from being “moral” in the game but was honest about it so nobody was that upset.

Not to mention he is still the only BB winner to this day to never win a single competition, something that no player has even tried to replicate let alone succeed in doing!

Another reason his strategy for BB2 is impossible to replicate was the use of his confessionals (that the jury could see because they weren't sequestered). He explained to all the evicted house guests that he wasn't the only asshole: everyone in the house was an asshole! He was just the only one who was honest about being an asshole.
@JRJuggernaut1
@JRJuggernaut1 Жыл бұрын
@@Sideshownicful that’s part of why he was so likable, he would lie to people but he never pretended to be honest. He could be charming while he was orchestrating your eviction and you would vote for him because you could still respect the moves he made. Will’s ability to talk his way out of situations and not put a huge target on himself still blows my mind. And the best part was even with some of the impressive moves he made in BB2, his run in all stars is something else in the best way! I don’t think we will ever get players that recreate what we saw from any of the top 5, but that being said I can’t see anyone ever being able to recreate Dr. Will’s game, because it’s so unique and nothing anyone has even tried to replicate!

BB16 was the first season I started watching Big Brother, and Derrick completely blew me away with how strategic and dominant he was at the game with Cody. Thanks to him, I still watch the show to this day because of how drawn in I was to the show from that year.

Okay that was a... surprisingly good argument for Cody. I guess the reason I didn't consider him a Top BB player is because whenever he was targeted, he relied on his alliance or Derrick to get him through. But the fact he would have survived against the BB16 Block Queen herself: Victoria, yeah I agree wholeheartedly. Plus I'm not a fan of BB22... it's one of those seasons which could have been amazing but most of the returning players minus Cody, weren't able to play two steps ahead. As a certain BB player once said: He was playing chess while everyone else was playing checkers.
@JRJuggernaut1
@JRJuggernaut1 Жыл бұрын
There are a lot of justified frustrations surrounding BB22, but Cody’s win makes me happy it exists purely for that! Still doesn’t excuse how disappointing the season was on so many levels. Christmas should never have been invited back, Memphis was way less likable compared to his time on BB10, David being brought back felt odd despite how glad I was that he was part of the cast, Ian felt so out of place in this cast, Dani being there just reinforced how much I wish they never brought her back after BB8 even though she was more tolerable here than in BB13, Kaycer’s eviction speech was so on point and yet he was disrespected by several houseguests for daring to echo what the audience was thinking, I could go on but god that season was a mess 🤦🏻‍♂️
@KlaviceGavin
@KlaviceGavin Жыл бұрын
@@JRJuggernaut1 Instead of Christmas, I was wondering how the season would have done if BB19's Cody came back, he was far more likeable despite originally having some "colorful views" and probably would have been savvy to Cody in the game. Hell it would be nice to see BB19 Cody in a season where not everyone wants him gone for a change. I mean he foiled Paul's plot to win BB19 and helped the flawed and quirky but likeable in his own right Josh win. Plus he and Cameron were the ONLY ones savvy to Paul's shenanigans until Josh outed Paul during his goodbye messages to everyone, which I feel should have made him a contender for a great BB player over say Paul. I like their BB18 game far more, and to be honest, had Paul actually not bullied their way through with an alliance of yes people I would be more inclined to see them as one of the better players who never won.
@JRJuggernaut1
@JRJuggernaut1 Жыл бұрын
@@KlaviceGavin 1. I agree Paul’s BB18 gameplay, despite the way they treated the women at times, was often respectable and they had a great narrative for the jury when all was said and done. BB19 Paul I never want to see ever again because they were unbearably obnoxious, and only with a cast that stupid and underwhelming could they have received 4 votes to win. Matt and Raven voting for Paul mostly because they didn’t want to accept Paul betrayed them was a special kind of absurd! Either way, glad Josh won even if it’s still my least favorite season of BB 2. I appreciate the efforts to defend Cody from BB19 but sorry he is a horrible human being. The show may not have cast him in the worst light, but his bigotry and intolerance are abhorrent, and it’s awful that someone like him has a platform that he uses to spread his bigotry on a regular basis. Cody does not care about how harmful his rhetoric is or the harm his misinformation causes and his Instagram shows that off in the worst ways! He does not deserve to ever return to reality tv at all, and it’s terrible that CBS tried to cover up the bigotry he said on the feeds. People need to stay away from this man!
@KlaviceGavin
@KlaviceGavin Жыл бұрын
@JRJuggernaut1 Oh damn... I figured he might be acting as I didn't think anyone could be that homophobic and transphobic in reality but now that I'm older and wiser to how the world works... yikes. If Paul was to ever return (doubtful as they and Cody made that season a slogfest of hate), I'd hope they choose to play like BB18 Nicole Franzel Arroyo, where they fly under the radar, and scheme their way to the top. I feel like I never really disliked Nicole until BB22 when she kicked fellow Big Brother alumni (rumor has it she didn't even let IAN go to her wedding) off her wedding guest list for petty reasons, and while not as awful as Memphis Garrett it made me not like her game in 18 as much anymore.
@JRJuggernaut1
@JRJuggernaut1 Жыл бұрын
@@KlaviceGavin hey I originally tried to defend Cody too, especially because he and Jessica did not deserve any of the crap they dealt with. Unfortunately though, his social media content is several levels of yikes. To his credit, he and Jessica do often talk about content outside of politics, I saw some content from when they appeared on Sean Johnson and her husband Andrew’s podcast, and it was mostly talking about family stuff, pretty tame. Then I once saw several stories on Cody’s Instagram about various political topics. First he shared misleading information that children who got monkey pox must have been abused by gay men in order to have contracted it, even though that’s not necessarily true. Then he talked about everything wrong with the search of Marilago where several classified documents were found in Trump’s possession, even though his information was misleading at best and completely false at worst! Finally, he posted about how great of a job Ron DeSantis was doing running Florida, despite all the terrible things he was doing to harm its people. Cody is an emotionless and heartless sociopath and when you get down to it, his inability to show compassion for others and revel in hate is what makes him so loathsome. Admittedly, many people who voted for him for AFP back in 2017 regret that decision because he is a lot less popular within the BB community nowadays!

There’s a reason no one has even tried to recreate his game, it’s because his gameplay was so effective but it was also so hard to play correctly, and it was so unconventional that no other players have ever thought they could win taking his approach. Dan Gheesling’s BB14 game is the closest we have and will ever see purely because Dan intentionally decided he couldn’t rely on winning comps to make it to the end, but even then he didn’t generally throw comps to make that happen so it’s not quite the same.

Very good list! Love your videos. In my opinion, the thing that makes Dan the best player of all time is his versatility. He is able to float safely when needed, he is also able to pull out huge social moves when he is in serious danger, and in season 10 he won a ton of competitions at the end that makes him a competition threat. My biggest critique with Derrick in season 16 is that he wasn't really ever in serious danger, which is a skill in itself that Derrick was never tested on. If Derrick came back for a second season and survived a back door or pulled a huge "Dan's funeral" level move, I would see Derrick as the number 1 GOAT because of that ability to both avoid danger and get out of danger when he's in it. That's like saying someone is the best at fighting because they've never taken a punch and always dodge. If they take a punch, are they able to keep going? Vanessa is a great example of getting out of danger when she avoided a back door attempt. Then you look at a recent example of Michael in season 24. As soon as he loses ONE COMPETITION, he is quickly evicted and back door. Amazing competition wins but a huge hole in his game from a social aspect.

I like how you put Josh at the end saying he's your number 1, and I feel the same about some players where I consider them my "personal favorites" but I wouldn't put them at the top of a greatest of all time list. Who are your other personal favorites?
@JRJuggernaut1
@JRJuggernaut1 Жыл бұрын
Michael played a great game but you can definitely see the holes in it. Imo, his biggest mistakes were winning the veto at final 12, winning the final 10 HOH, and not putting up Monte and Turner at Final 7. Michael underestimated how his threat level would be perceived, and he didn’t take into account how quickly his threat level was increasing. If I had been Michael I would have taken a back seat at final 10 and let someone else win with the goal of aligning with the people most likely to protect me. Instead, Michael goes into final 8 with a big target on his back, and while he hoped that target would shrink after winning the veto, it didn’t and Michael mistakenly thought keeping Monte and Turner around was worth it in the short term! I loved Michael but despite how strategic he tried to be it’s a shame that his game has some glaring holes. Sure, one could argue Michael could have become a big target at 8 even if he didn’t have 6 comp wins under his belt, but I can’t help but think Michael’s position was avoidable if he just made the right moves!

A few honorable mentions in my book are Steve and Ian. Steve was the only player to perfectly manipulate Vanessa and to carefully construct a social system where he was perfect in the Jury's eyes, where as Ian played an all around perfect game in my mind. He stabbed people in the back when he needed to (like Boogie) and he came in clutch during competitions. He also made a brilliant move by taking Dan to the Final 2 as the cast did not want a former winner to win again. Overall, these two played amazing games in my mind.

@@thecamishere4344 Fully agree with this. Steve is in my top 15 just because I think he is a clever manuvering player. Ironically I find him to be a similar skill level to Vanessa in manuvering skill, though they accomplish their goals in different ways. Steve is an active player who appears inactive, in a similar vein to Andy, though much more flawed. Ian was messy throughout his BB14 run. Taking Boogie and Ashley out worsened his position in the game, mostly benefitting Dan in doing so. Andy is the one player I would always bet on without fail in a returning player season. He masterminded the perception of himself in the game to where everyone had him in their endgame plans because no one was threatened by him. His one and only time on the block he had absolutely no chance of getting evicted because of how good his bonds were. No one ever mistrusted him even when he actively flipped his allegiances. People like to clown on McCrae for taking Elissa out, but McCrae was a solid player that season (top 5 of the season behind Andy, Amanda, and Helen, and then depending on what you value more, maybe Spencer). Andy completely misted McCrae on live television, and to this day it’s one of the game’s greatest social plays. I’d argue Andy’s winning game was superior to Derrick’s, but also that is personal bias because I don’t care for the mob mentality steamroll that The Detonators had (although Derrick was absolutely incredible in running the season). Andy has proven in his one season he can play from both the front and behind, and knew how to outfox everyone, to the point where he was never a threat on anyone’s radar.

I personally put Cody at least below Andy on the list because I’m not sure about Cody’s ability to adjust to the game if a plan fails. To give him credit, if Cody’s plan A works, it will work phenomenally, but I worry about Cody’s option for a plan B. I think that in many what it scenarios in BB22 I think Cody falters and struggles to recover from that point having to win out from that point; for example, Nicole leaving in the triple, Da’vonne winning week 5 HOH, Kaysar winning week 4, Janelle winning week 3, etc. I think Cody gets put in a vulnerable state where he either wins or goes home and I’m unsure on his ability to recover from that point. Compared to Andy in which he is rarely ever in a position where he’s in danger in the game. The only time he touched the block was as a pawn and even so it wasn’t a “hey you’re a threat” but more of a “hey you haven’t seen the block yet, might as well” and it was against Aaryn who goes home unanimously in any scenario at that point.

In All Stars it felt like he was pulling a lot of the Chill town strings, Will was just getting credit for being the Mastermind. I actually rewatched this Season recently and it felt like Mike Boogie did a little more work and deserved the win. Will's strategy was mostly just getting on people's nerves and charming Janelle.

I’d argue Andy is better than Cody. Cody dominated is season from top to bottom but faced no adversity. In BB16 we see Cody almost blow up (I forget who at) but Derrick is there to calm him down. That alliance would’ve been fucked because Cody couldn’t control his emotions in the face of adversity. Who knows how he would’ve faced Enzo flipping in BB22, probably not well. Andy didn’t dominate the game but he floated throughout the game masterfully and played out Cody’s weaknesses better than we’ve seen probably anyone do before

I personally think Will is the only player to have actually been a two time winner had he made it to the end in season 7. I think the cast members of that season recognized that he was without a doubt the best and would have awarded it to him. These days, I don’t think a cast would vote for a previous winner over. I don’t think Dan had a chance..Danielle wins over him too.. Nicole and Ian wouldn’t have won either,no matter who was next to them in bb22, unless of course it was only them left. Enzo had a great chance against her if he was next to Nicole. Will, I believe, is the only one who really had that chance.

My Top 5 Players, Part II 2 (TIE). Paul Abrahamian -- This will be the other possible controversial ranking because you either love this person (or respect them) or you hate them. But I take agency into consideration the most, and no BB player has ever or will ever have as much agency as Paul did in BB19, for better or for worse. I was just talking about Vanessa's analytical mind and how she controlled the season, but calling Paul a puppet master is an understatement! But let's start with BB18. Of course modern seasons have to be ridiculous and introduce twists that alienate viewers more than they excite them, so for four weeks, there were three nominees instead of two, and Paul was a nominee the first three times. They won the veto the first time and helped Paulie get votes over Jozea just for that iconic stare. The second time, Paulie nominated Paul, but then used the veto on them. The favor was returned in week 6 as Paul won HOH and nominated ally Paulie, only to backdoor Da'Vonne. In week 9, Paul was nominated as the target next to ally Victor, but won veto in another clutch moment. El Fit was eVICted, but when he came back him and Paul somehow curried favor with Nicole and Corey, so when Nicole got the next HOH she targeted and cast the tiebreaking vote to evict Big Meech instead of Paul and Victor. Then, everything swings back and forth; Paul wins two more HOHs and a veto to ensure that Corey and James went home, potentially their only big mistake (evicting James instead of Nicole). All in all, Paul was nominated six times, which isn't good. But they only received two votes against them, which is fantastic. They also won six comps, putting them in rare company, although it gets rarer next! Paul should have won 5-4 or 6-3 like everyone in the viewing audience expected them to because they was a newbie that knew nothing about the game and outplayed a veteran by far. Natalie and Paulie are the shady ones here. Natalie said she wanted a girl to win (which is a pretty bullshit reason to vote for someone in my opinion), and that she had overheard Paul talking bad about something she had said and never forgave them, when in actuality she just completely misheard them and screwed them over for no reason. And I suspect Paulie voted for Nicole because of Cody's close relationship with her. Basically, Paul got robbed, pt. I. But I'm breaking this one up into two paragraphs, cause boy does Paul deserve a college course studying their gameplay in BB19. I said earlier that every single thing Vanessa did was calculated. But in BB19, every single thing that EVERYONE ELSE DID was calculated by Paul. They HAD to have eaten, slept, and breathed BB strategy 24/7. For BB19, Paul shifted their game from winning comps to a strategy dominant social-manipulation game, and damn did Paul do that like a BOSS. I'll admit that they had a decent starting advantage, but let's be real, Paul was gonna have these poor bastards under their thumb for the whole season regardless. Week 2, Paul gets out Cody, who's pretty much their only opposition. Week 4 comes and Jessica and Cody are together again, with the former being HOH and POV winner. She has her enemy Josh as the target and Ramses as the pawn, so of course Paul rallies the troops and votes out Ramses just to spite Jody. The very next week, Paul has Jody on the ropes again and sitting on the block on eviction night. But then Jody says "hey, remember when we nominated you and you cancelled it out with the PoP? Well check this out, bitch," and cancels the whole week. This is getting to be a slugfest between Paul and Jody, but in week 6, Paul decides to take a breather and let their minions do Paul's work. During the next several weeks, Paul neither wins anything nor gets nominated, yet they is still behind the scenes controlling every single action: Josh getting out Jessica, Alex getting out Cody, Jason getting out Elena for the sole reason that she and Mark where going after Paul and then Christmas finishing them off by getting out Mark. That FOUR people in FOUR consecutive weeks sticking their necks out and getting blood on their hands for PAUL'S benefit while they do absolutely nothing but watch their puppets dance. But here's where the real fun starts, so let's get a THIRD paragraph! Week 10, Paul orchestrates the most ludicrous HOH competition, his magnum opus if you will. We all know it, the one legged woman winning a foot race. This is a great example of Paul's strategic acumen being seen every step of the way in thinking up/executing this plan. Paul goes to person A and says to throw it and they respond "only if person B does this," and that goes on for a minute. But what does Paul do except make all that shit happen! He convinces four people to throw the comp to crippled Christmas for three different reasons (well two and a half; when Kevin asked Paul why he should throw the comp, Paul basically replied "cause I said so," and you bet your ass that was good enough for Kevin.) Thinking that Kevin was the target, Alex then threw it. At that point, Raven didn't give a rats ass and threw it, and then came Josh with the most ridiculous acting anyone has ever seen, but them BAM! Christmas won the "race." And what just gets more impressive/impossible to believe is how everyone COMPLETELY trusts Paul and never compares notes with one another. Josh questions Paul for half a second? Christmas is right there to shame his ass into submission. I'll give Kevin a break because I don't think he even knew where he was the entire season. It's never enough for Paul because they're so badass they can't help it; a champ is a champion. So just for fun, Paul has ANOTHER genius plan and forces a 2-2 tie where Paul voted to keep Jason but Christmas sent him packing with the tiebreaker, yet again keeping Paul's hands clean. Next, Alex gets out Raven because Paul says. At this point I just assume that Paul bought a lifetime supply of Eau de Mist from Dan, because this is getting absolutely unbelievable how no one suspects that Paul is playing for Paul and only Paul, and how they keep thinking their ideas are their own and not Paul's. For their coup de grace, they cause ANOTHER tie vote where they votes for the person leaving to stay AGAIN and forces the HOH (Josh) to get more blood on their hands...AGAIN! They definitely win the season if either of two things had happened. First Paul's goodbye messages could have been a lot better. Josh kept undercutting Paul and selling them out, looking way better in the last message people get before heading to jury. But really, bitter jury members cost Paul the win, pt. II. They should have had another 6-3 win, but Alex and Jason were a couple of crybabies. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY has ever worked even half as hard Paul did all season. I don't care if they LITERALLY stabbed me in the back on the way out, I would still vote for Paul in the end. BB is a game and Paul kept draining 3s after 3s while everyone else just bricked, so Alex and Jason took their ball and went home. Paul had 8 comp wins and zero nominations all season, which is crazy impressive. Excellent comp ability; amazing social game -jury management; out of this world strategic ability. Rating of 9.5/10. 1. Dan Gheesling -- There's not much debate about this in the BB community. Anyone who argues that Dan isn't the best is either a BB newbie or is being misted by Dr. Will instead when he told them that he hated them all and to rank him last. Dan won and then got second by playing two very different games. First season, he was very behind the scenes, mostly just watching things and not acting until he needed to (but boy did he act). He still got 5 comp wins, and received zero votes against his 2 times on the block. But in his 2nd season, he was in control the entire way, a game he had to play because his coach status in the beginning of the game thrust him into the spotlight. He was also Dan mf Gheesling, so he had a huge target the entire game, yet pulled one genius move after another out of his ass and somehow took second in a game he would have won if he were anyone else. I have so much respect for the way Dan carried himself all season in BB10. He never used religion as a crutch and always stayed true to himself. The one time he broke his word, he took his cross off first. That was not a game move, that was an awesome human being move. But the crazy thing is that I respect him even more for being able to do the exact opposite in BB14. He was NOT Judas in BB10, but damn was he a good villain in BB14. There are so many great moments involving him and his next level strategy, but my personal favorite is the F4 when he got both Danielle AND Shane to be okay with Dan casting the eviction vote instead of Shane, which he of course casted on Shane haha. It also led to two iconic lines. Danielle says "fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'm a dumbass." And then she said she felt so bad and Dan said "That's why we make a good team, cause I don't." RUTHLESS! And then, this master manipulator convinced BOTH Ian AND Danielle to throw part one of the final HOH. This is the last comp and half a million dollars is on the line, and these two threw the comp. The fuck? He probably still would have lost, but I wish the jury had time to cool down because they were so damn bitter (looking at you Shane and Frank). Oh, and I think there was some kind of funeral or something. I'd call Dan a God, but I don't want to be blasphemous. Oh and another thing, the tin foil veto in BB10 would have been the most boss thing ever if he had ever gotten to bluff it. Anyone who uses Dan the Demigod Gheesling's name best put some respect on it!! 10/10 I hope you all enjoyed this. Let me know what you think! Do you agree with my rankings? If not, what are yours? But PLEASE, keep it polite/respectful!

So I haven't gotten around to BB6 yet, but from her other three appearances she hasn't really had much going for her other than being a comp beast (and not even that in 14/22). Her strategic play isn't anything to write home about, and she seems to alienate a lot of her fellow housemates with her social game or lack thereof. You could say her lackluster performances in her last two appearances can be attributed to her being a huge target going in, but those could also be viewed as opportunities to prove her ability to maneuver out of danger, which she flubbed. Don't get me wrong, I think she's great, but she's almost like Rachel Reilly - amazing at competitions, but out of necessity because most people would want her out if she wasn't safe - and it'd be REALLY tough to argue for Rachel being in the top 15.

Damn, I wish I had gotten to post this on time! Now it's gonna get buried underneath all the other comments (maybe that's for the best haha). BUT, here is the second part of my Top 10 players of all time list, written way back when my guy Ethanimale made his video for tierlisting every player a few months ago. I put a lot of time and effort into writing these up, and did a hell of a lot of research to supplement my memories. I did not just pull these out of my ass. Yet, right off the bat, I'm going to turn a lot of people off and get wtf comments for putting Janelle at #5, which gave me anxiety for half a second. But then I remembered that I am entitled to my opinion and that if anyone disagrees, they are welcome to take as much time as I did to make their OWN list. I am open to having a dialogue with my fellow youtubers about my rankings (and theirs as well) where we can share our thoughts and justifications (my rankings are far from fact, just my opinions and how I formed them), but please don't just blindly insult myself or anyone else. Disagreeing is great, it's how we form a back and forth in which we can learn from each other. Just be polite about it please. SO, the 10-6 spots from part one of my list were given to: 10. Dr. Will Kirby 9. Dani Briones nee Donato 8. Cody Calafiore 7. Tyler Crispin 6. Danielle Reyes Without further ado, here is my top 5: 5.Janelle Pierzina -- I think we can all agree that this woman is a comp BEAST. The amount of comps she has won and the records she holds are enough to put her in the top 10. In BB6, she is integral in forming the Sovereign Six, and god damnit that alliance could have taken the whole thing if Howie the Manchild wasn't completely tricked by a brilliantly bold misting by Maggie (a super underrated player btw because everyone HATES the Friendship). Janie won a decent 4 comps in BB6, but if you thought Cody's 8 wins in BB22 was impressive, check out Janie's unbelievable 9 wins IN ALL-STARS!! Furthermore, she won the veto FOUR TIMES when she was on the block, some mega clutch shit right there. Even FURTHERmore, due to all of her comp wins, Janelle was immune from eviction 8 out of 11 weeks prior to F3. But I think she is more than just a mega comp threat. She is smarter than some think (shit, ANYONE can get bamboozled by Dr. Will, so the Marcellus eviction halfway through the season was whatever) and displayed strategic ideas when given the agency from her comp wins. She had strong alliance members in her first two seasons, before her reputation preceded her; you don't get back to back third place finishes on comp wins alone. And there's at least a chance she wins both seasons if she only won the final HOH each time. She gets Howie, Rachel, and James to vote for her in BB6, so that one comes down to April who probably (but not definitely) votes for either Friendshipper, but even if so, a 3-4 vote for a second place finish is something to write home about. Then she would demolish a BB7 jury vote, because come on, ain't nobody voting for Erika. She was THIS close to back to back wins, and she was where she was at each time because of HERSELF, nobody carried her there. As for Janelle's other two seasons, she was totally stonewalled from doing anything with anyone just because her name was Janelle, and that says something about how awesome and, by proxy, how scary good she is. Everyone was AFRAID to play against her because they saw how damn good she was at the game. And I mean really, what's the best finish a third time player has had anyway (aside from Nicole F.)? They barely even let Kaysar walk through through the front door anymore. The only third time player that placed well was Nicole F., and I think it was because people DIDN'T fear or respect her gameplay ability like they did with Janelle. Janelle is hella clutch, tough as shit, and is just an all around GREAT player that had a lot of agency and used it well. Perhaps female comp GOAT; pretty good but not amazing social game; good strategy. Final player rating of 8.5/10. 4. Vanessa Rousso -- I am very very tempted to say that Vanessa is the second best person to never win. She is very much like Danielle Reyes, but with good comp ability. The woman had the most beautifully analytical mind I've ever seen in Big Brother (probably, but see below), and pretty much everything she did was calculated. When to use the bathroom. When to sleep. Hell, when to choose smooth peanut butter over chunky, every god damn thing she did was done with purpose. And her agency as well as win equity was always sky high. Vanessa won 7 comps, making her immune from eviction 7 out of 13 nominations from F14 to F4 and allowing her to take herself off of the block at F5. And let's not forget that on the spot F6 misting of Julia (or Liz? Idk, they're interchangeable) during the Bowlerina veto that was just sick as shit. Vanessa knew the plan was for Julia to win the veto and save Liz while not being able to be made a replacement nominee and therefore giving them the votes to save Austin and evict Johnny Mac, but that whole plan was just no bueno for my girl. She did not want to go into F5 with a trio under any circumstances, so she pulled a rabbit out of her ass and tricked Julia into challenging Austin in the veto, which made him paranoid as hell. So much so in fact that he went on a rampage to win the veto and totally screw the plan, eventually sending Julia home. Nice one, Austin. I don't 100% remember what the strategy of everyone was during F5, but Vanessa was HOH and put up Johnny and Steve instead of Lizton. However, Johnny Mac Daddy won the veto and Austin was put up as a replacement next to Scuba Steve, which led to a 1-1 tie that Vanessa broke by evicting Austin. Again, I don't remember those episodes particularly well, but if Vanessa evicted Austin over Steve, I have to believe that was her intention the entire time, which was probably the better game move of course. This whole season was one big poker game for Vanessa, and she always had the nuts, at least until F3. She controlled the entire season like Danielle did, but won a few comps and had a much bigger target and still managed to survive almost to the end. She's easily a top 5 fallen angel. Great comp ability but purposely downplayed; good social player due to her high ability to manipulate others; the actual strategic GOAT. Final player rating of 9.25/10. 2. (TIE) Derrick Levasseur -- This guy is pretty much Paul with social/relationship building skills (and probably slightly less strategic manipulation power). He controlled his season so masterfully and stayed well respected by the jury. He survived a historic amount of nominations without getting put on the block, and only won comps when needed, which is super impressive if your pull it off. He didn't win a single veto because he was never on the block and was never gonna get backdoored. Why not? Because his core alliance won EVERY COMP from F10 and on, going an absolutely astounding 17 for 17. Although, you know, Victoria was usually THIS close to winning each one ["insert Chilltown diary room laugh here*]. Derrick was so excellent at the x-factor type things, like reading people. He always knew when someone was lying to him, but he played it cool every time. He had far more influence than anyone else in the house, so whatever happened was usually good for Derrick. He definitely had agency over other people, but he also used his earned agency well. In his three non-dethroned HOHs, he gets out Devin (thank god), Christine the Snake (only the second person I can remember getting booed on their way out), and then Beast Mode, a huge contender to win the season. For someone with little objective power throughout the season, Derrick still had a crazy amount of agency, and his win equity was pretty much always second to none. He has an unbelievable feel for the game and was constantly thinking three steps ahead. He's an incredible talker, and is also quite adept at inceptioning ideas into players heads. Everyone trusted him and he really treated them with respect. Unlike Paul, Derrick never talked shit behind anyone's back, so there was no word to get back to them. Every base was always covered. I mean, how in the holy hell do FIFTY-FIVE people get nominated throughout the season without Derrick being any of those people. That's enough nominations for EVERYONE on the season to be on the block four times., yet Derrick was never one. He was very controlling of the house, but in a much much more subtle way than Paul. Nobody was upset at anything Derrick did, and that was paramount to his success at the end. Christine and Caleb both voted for Derrick even though they were evicted on his HOH. What Derrick lacked in next level manipulation skills, he made up for with people skills so that people would help him because they wanted to and not because they were manipulated. Derrick always sent people out the door with a good last impression of himself. His alliance is perhaps the most dominant alliance of all time, and he was the leader, so that speaks volumes. Probably great comp ability but not sure; top tier social skills; legendary strategic ability. Total player rating of 9.5/10

I won’t disagree that his strategy benefited a lot from the chaos of the season, but a lot of other winners gave that too. Both Cody and Derrick benefited from the fact that their seasons were heavy with people willing to form mega alliances and weren’t willing to flip until it was too late. I also think it’s a bit silly to act like he got off easy by being against Gina Marie in the final 2. She was a horrendous speaker and extremely unlikeable, but you have to give Andy credit for choosing to bring her to the final 2 for the easy win. Why is is better to bring a more challenging opponent? If Cody was a little smarter in S16, he would have been against Victoria and very likely won, and that would have been a great strategic choice. People clown on Paul for losing twice in the end because they didn’t bring an easier to beat player to the end.

I think overall your list is super balanced & I think you make fair arguments for everyone but the biggest name I see missing is Tiffany. Maybe it’s due to the fact that she’s only played one season, or didn’t have many comp wins, but in my opinion she deserved a spot in that first video of spots 10-15. She orchestrated the greatest alliance in Big Brother history & had it not been for the sacrifices she made for personal reasons, I see a clear path to the end for her. She was one of the smartest strategists we’d ever seen & played very similar to Vanessa. I could see a good argument for putting her in place of some of those 10-15 spots. I also think Britney deserves to be apart of the conversation- and just hear me out here okay!! The 2 times she was taken out of the game she was taken out because of A. one of the greatest alliances of all time, and B. Dan Gheesling himself (because HE saw HER as a threat). I think she deserves some flowers for the fact that she has only ever been taken out by the best of the best & I think she has one of the best social games of all time. (Also notably missing, of course, is Janelle & Rachel but I do totally see why they weren’t here & don’t disagree with that decision actually) I’m pretty passionate about giving the women on this show the props that they deserve because I feel like men have an easier path to the end than the women do🤷🏻‍♀️

Like I said in the first video, my rankings are extremely fluid and on any given day I totally could have Tiffany in the top 15 over an Enzo or Eric, and I do think Tiffany more than has the capabilities to be a top 10 player and I really hope to see a return someday

I wouldn’t put Tiffany in it because her massive flaw is her inner connections within the CO, which makes her F8 HoH worse cuz she pissed off half of the alliance since the plan was Azah as HoH then Kyland, then she couldn’t convince Hannah to keep Kyland off the block since that’d expose some lines, which ultimately sent her out. An HoH she didn’t need to win, forced to take out her closest ally, couldn’t convince her other closest ally to keep Kyland off the block, and didn’t make strong connections within the CO, where at least half didn’t trust her. Good player? Yes, but not the greatest to get top 15

I like the placement but the one player I just couldn’t get behind not being top 10 is jun.The way I see it is her being in 12 spot is because you weren’t a fan of her one way to win game plan but in my list she is higher especially because of the fact that she accomplished that.She knew her flaws and exploited them so while you gave points to some players of having a strategy that put them in a place of a 100% win I liked Juns risky but guarantied win more.

I actually have Will pretty low. He'd be #1 back before BB10, but the meta has changed so much that I actually have him all the way down at #8. His strategy perfectly fit the pre-Brigade meta. But I think if a player were to come on the show and play exactly like him, they'd be seen as a joke. Will was insanely benefitted in BB2 by the edit, and in BB7 by pregaming, though I do not count the latter against him. It is also worth noting that he doesn't always have full motivation to win the game. In BB2, he aimed for fame and didn't care about winning, only making it far. In BB7, he cared more about Boogie getting the win. The most important thing to me that drops him so low is how he fits in the meta though. His arrogant personality doesn't gel well with modern casts and he'd lose a jury vote either out of annoyance with him or a lack of respect for his apparently passive game. And while I do think he recognizes now that competitions are beneficial in the modern meta, would he really be winning that many at his age and physique? We don't really know. (BB Legends season?) He is still an extremely impressive player, a pioneer of social strategy, and one of the best to ever play. I just feel that 7 other players are more impressive, and more likely to win any given season.

I can't really argue with your placement of him but personally I ding Cody some because I think without Derrick he doesn't finish final 2 in 16 and if that's the case then 22 probably doesn't happen. I also ding him for 22 because of the rampant pregaming by all of the contestants and again using Derrick's connections to form tentative alliances before the show even started. With Will, yes everyone probably knew each other to some degree but social media not being what it is today, I doubt the ability of connections to be made pregame outside of being on the same season with someone. And with Dan, yeah the other 3 coaches were there but other than that it was a brand new cast

What is your criteria for best player? Replicability? Dominance? Both? So circumstantial when ranking. Best players (top 5) 1. Dan 2. Will Very interchangeable (again) depending on your criteria. 3. Cody 4. Derrick 5. Andy For starters, Andy. I think he is the quintessential perfect social game. He inhabits everything that you wanna possess as a player. IE; like ability, charismatic, can win comps, sound strategically, etc. Also, inhabits very good strategic acumen. And if your basis is replicability I think he is better than Cody/Derrick. As much credit as Derrick/Cody get with “never facing adversity” & or putting themselves in a bad position the same principle can be applied to Andy. He was always aligned with the power. He knew when to jump ship when it was sinking. IE; double eviction with Mcranda & or Helen. And every-time he did so he did it in a way he “avoided” any heat unlike say Dan did in this respective seasons. He possesses a sense of empathy that resonates with people. After Aaron’s showmance leaves week 1 he is the first person to truly console her privately & explain his vote. Cody > Derrick due to replicability. drop them into 100 random seasons simulator & I think current Cody has more success. As he is a player who can have any success in any era of BB as he is the complete package. Essentially a Better version of Hayden (BB12). Socially is very sound (most people forget) he had better relationships with majority of the people in game than Derrick. IE; Nicole/Hayden don’t target Derrick the week they are in power because of their relationship with Cody. Derrick’s an anomaly almost the Kim S. of BB where they exemplified a profound skill (like no other) on there initial/winning seasons. Nobody has ever replicated that level of control on there first season & I don’t think ever will. My question marks with Derrick & why he isn’t top 3 anymore is: Replicability? Can he do it again when people are self aware of his abilities? Opposition? Can he do it against more savvy players inherently? How much help did BOTB/Reset help him? If reset doesn’t come in fruition I am fairly certain Frankie wins the game. His skill set is astonishing but it comes with quite a bit of asterisks. And even though I can give him immense credit for being able to avoid adversity all together how does he fair in a situation that doesn’t suit him well? IE; he didn’t fully handle the zach situation perfectly & could’ve very blew up his position. Now the everlasting Dan Vs Dr. Will debate & like I stated previously criteria is important. As I think Dan’s more suited to a 100 random season simulator. He just is inherently the more versatile player who takes the game more seriously. But.. he also takes make quite a bit of egregious errors in his seasons & often puts himself into a vulnerable state. (Much more than Dr. Will does) & his personality > doesn’t resonate with as many people. - overplaying week 1 - nomination roulette almost lose him 2 votes & merely was for entertainment - was very close to leaving final 5 of BB10 - often pissed off Renny & she likely doesn’t vote for him against anyone besides Memphis/Jerry. - over-lied in BB14 & though I don’t agree his “jury management” was bad that season his actions didn’t help. IE: not his fault jurors were unwilling to reward a previous winner. - Also, I think it’s important to note that AP’s put him in a very advantageous position keeping Memphis > Jesse. Because his endgame becomes inherently more difficult to navigate. However, his BB10 is the most sound game in a vacuum, imo. And him constantly boxing Memphis into a bad position & making him out to be the bad guy on a consistent basis is otherworldly. Etc Will however is just more naturally gifted & is superb at bluffing his hand & getting people to sincerely believe it. IE; convincing Janelle that him/Boogie were more instrumental to her game long-term than her S6 alliance. He has an aura about him that you like him despite yourself. More or less Will’s more effective with less effort but his lack of caring & overconfidence docks him. He is overconfident early in BB2 & is barely playing the game. He is on the wrong side of the vote (even) week 1 + was willing to give up his fame for Shannon. And his F4 strategy was abysmal. But people have a misdirection on what truly cost him. It was his fight with Janelle in the jacuzzi that really sealed the deal & thus that made Erika’s resonate more. Will’s the most gifted player ever. Dan’s the most ruthless, cutthroat, & vindictive. Basically; Competitively: Dan Socially: Will Manipulation: Will Charism: Will Jury Management: Equal (Dan Unanimous win but against the other most hated HG & Michelle told me privately Dan might’ve loss to anyone else & Will’s constant narrative’s he crafted in the DR resonated with everyone & garnished him the win/respect. Strategically: Dan Positioning: Dan Strategic Acumen: Dan Versatility: Dan Craftiness: Will So I really really think they are equal. But I trust Dan infinitely more than Will. All in all great top 5: Biggest differences separating the 5. Andy’s analytical. Cody’s Versatile. Will’s chaotic. Dan’s Ruthless. Derrick’s methodical.
@thecamishere4344
@thecamishere4344 Жыл бұрын
I find it odd you mention Will's major flaws then say he's the most gifted player. Absolutely not. His gameplay in no way is repeatable and was luck dependant at points. No there is no equal jury management clearly. Will clearly won cuz the jury was not voting Nicole out of bitterness, Dan swayed the bitter jurors his way even to win unanimously. NO COMPARISON!!!
@thecamishere4344
@thecamishere4344 Жыл бұрын
And Dan has never truly made egregious errors. Call me crazy but Nomination Roulette though flashy, also had him gain more out of it. You looked at it too near sighted. He made the perception believable that he couldn't win in a jury even to me as a viewer at the time when meanwhile that was never gonna be the case. Yes America voting out Jessie helped Dan and he probably doesn't do as well if Memphis leaves but it's still an adverse situation being America's player and despite "voting" how he did and having to piss off a side without a choice, he mastered the sympathy strategy and even dodged a backdoor from his arch rival Jerry even though Jerry clearly wanted him on the block
@KarateKidBB
@KarateKidBB Жыл бұрын
@@thecamishere4344 Will’s Major “flaws” come from ego. Not skills. Which albeit why he is not the best player ever. “His game is in no way repeatable” it absolutely is. You’re talking about the most socially savvy player in history. A guy who was able to make people like them in-spite of themselves. “Can he win” again is different than him being able to repeat success. Especially in a modern setting where the game has become fundamentally easier & opposition has diminished due to poor casting outside the past 2 seasons. “Jury voted against Nicole & not Will”. So you are just gonna completely negate where Will openly used the DR’s as strategy? Constantly crafting a narrative to support his sentiment? Where he openly undermined others for acting “good” & doing the same thing he did? Where the jurors acknowledged his consistency throughout? The same reason jurors voted for Will in that regard is the same reason they voted for Dan in 10. The ability to craft a narrative & spin the negative attention to said person. You think it was on accident Will ended in F2 with the most disliked player in the game other than himself? Your criteria is very very flawed.

@@thecamishere4344 “Dan never made egregious errors” Proceeds to openly talk about an egregious error he made. He merely made that move for entertainment & acknowledged this post show. In WHICH he openly made Ollie/Michelle have a strong distain for him. Similarly to Will when they make these social blunders they’re able to adapt due to their overall charisma & social prowess. Nonetheless, it doesn’t negate it was an unnecessary move that could’ve very much have ousted his position. Michelle has openly told me that Dan struggles to beat anyone else in that season. Jurors did not like them. They merely voted for him over Memphis because he was more respectable & as I stated last comment that is due to his ability to sell a narrative compellingly. IE; pushing the blame on Memphis > himself when they got rid of Keesha. Dan is my favorite player of all time I have watch his game NUMEROUS times & dissected it. It’s not an adverse situation when the odds land in your favor. He would’ve voted Jesse out in that scenario regardless & still have received the same degree of flack.

I could go on a personal rant about Derrick and Cody after their questionable comments toward the Kyle Capener's racism, but I will save that for another time because even with that I can confidently say they are among the best players to ever compete in BB. That being said, it may be a testament to their gameplay that they managed to stand out in a season that wasn't the most exciting to watch due to what a steamroll it was! BB16 is entertaining for sure, but the gameplay itself is predictable and made worse by the inclusion of Battle of the Block, something that somehow detracted from the gameplay far less in BB17 due to how much more dynamic the gameplay was on the whole. And yet, Derrick and Cody displayed truly stellar gameplay that Cody would only build upon in BB22, a season that while one of the weakest, is one I am glad exists solely for Cody's win. Both of these dudes deserve to be in the top 5 imo, if only because despite what a duo they were, they both showed how well they could dominate BB when given the chance! I still don't love BB16, mainly because of Battle of the Block and because of some of the misogyny we saw (the way Amber was treated by Caleb and then the rest of the house is one of the grossest instances in the show's history) but Cody and Derrick definitely elevate it for me!

Cody getting Donny's jury vote speaks volumes to his social game. Donny's biggest criteria to jury voting is how he was treated by the player. As I come up with my player ranks, the Donny-respect scale holds a good amount of weight. I also have some other different criteria like how compelling the player's story was, and likability is important to me too. There's also players in my top 5 who made 3rd place due to BB's endgame sometimes locking out the definitive best player of the season. Also some of my top players get a pass for not having great performances in returning seasons. That said, my top 5 right now is: Dan Gheesling Vanessa Russo Cody California Tyler Crispen Kevin Campbell My hot take is that Will Kirby can't play without extremely dedicated allies. He's exactly what you want in a Big Brother player for entertainment though. This video series has been incredibly comprehensive and you made some good points about Andy Herren. He's somewhere in my top ten.
