My only complaint about Capita is they have the Death Grip in the middle which makes the waist widths a bit misleading. Wish board companies would list the width at inserts more often.

Great topic for me. I have size 10.5 UK boots (TM-twos). I can euro both ways on a bataleon party wave which has been revolutionary for me. I used to race SBX so the BSOD looks pretty great for me, although I mostly go for side hits these days...
@johnkirwan4890Ай бұрын
Thanks for showing the big boys some love with this list! I would also personally like to bring up TC’s favorite, the battalion beyond medals as another option. The 164w comes in at 27.2 in the waist.
@martinbailly573Ай бұрын
I think you should have added the GNU Gremlin ! In the 158 and 161 it is wide enough ( 27 cm and 27,5 cm mid ) for big feet and a one quiver board in my books . You can also go shorter . Can’t go wrong with that beauty, espacially when you live in the East and ride very firm conditions. Thank you for all the review….. priceless!

Good call, while I'm not a magna fan I always find myself looking at that deck. Didn't realize there was a 27.5 waist on one of them.
@mikechavalas447629 күн бұрын
I think the gremlin is technically a volume shifted board that's why its not on the list. I think its in the video on volume shifted board or party boards. By all the board on the list this seems like its for regular and wide boards. The Gremlin and other volume shifted boards seem to be better options for bigger feet as well. A few of the volume shifted board have slightly bigger waist widths than the boards on this list. I've looked extensively into finding the widest boards possible offered by all brands. The skunk ape is defiantly is the biggest standard twin board your gunna get form the big brands (Technically you could get the douk freighter which is a little wider but a brand out of the uk, a brand that wont be named also has an option). Other than that for big boots you gotta custom order a wider board or your going to pay 800+ for a board. The website chairlift rebellion has a fantastic ultrawide snowboard guide that's easy to compare boards. Brands like Donek snowboards can also make custom size options, again its like 800+. I also had a buddy that would size down in boot so he could ride a smaller board, if your down

No twinpig, Warpig, Capita powder twin, Bataleon Party Wave, Neversummer DF series, Korua shapes, Gemenstick, Donek, a Waist width of at least 27.5 is for big boots, most of these are not it, should be a list of top boards for slightly above average boots. Size 13-15 please reference the above boards and the skunk ape, not whatever this list is.
@AngrySnowboarder12 күн бұрын
Twinpig sucks, Never Summers are for chodes that can't ride, I think you mean Gentem Stick which are really novelty boards, Doneks are for chodes like the Never Summer Crowd. All of these will work just fine for big footed riders. Waist width is an archaic measurement when the insert packs are further out and wider than it.
@parkers359612 күн бұрын
Waist width isn’t perfect but width at inserts are rarely advertised hence why you use the same waist width measurement in your videos and comments. Waist will still be the best approximation. Manufacturers will throw a wide designation on anything 2mm larger than their standard shape whether it’s actually wide or not
@AngrySnowboarder12 күн бұрын
Actually I take the tip width and subtract the waist width, divide that number by 2 and add it back to the waist width to know roughly what it is at the inserts. Been doing that for over a decade.

Wish the current BSOD had the flex of the 20th anniversary model. It’s my favorite profile and the single death grip in the middle is perfect. Went with a skunk ape camber this season for a more reasonable torsional flex.

Just a couple days on my 170UW. First thing I noticed is that it doesn’t track as effortlessly while one footing it. Not terrible, but you can tell it has a different nuance to it, and will take some getting used to. Day one was a very difficult wet heavy cascade concrete day and I only rode a couple runs before I switched out for a smaller more maneuverable board. I didn’t feel like dealing with it. A week later temps dropped and I rode mostly groomers with a few drops into pow stashes, and some mogul fields because I’m mental. It absolutely rips. Lays a trench while carving. You can get funky with it zig zagging in and out of moguls. Very stable at high speeds, absorbs chatter, and you can immediately engage into any kind of carve at any speed. I haven’t gotten comfortable with it yet doing a high speed nose butter, but that will just take a few more days. The camber runs further out into the nose than the BSOD, so it will feel catchy in certain situations, but the board is much easier to maneuver torsionally than the latest BSOD. It rides switch really well, I’d say better than my BSOD. It feels like a twin it rides switch so well. At 170 long and 28.5 waist width, it’s a very stable platform landing drops. I didn’t have the opportunity for anything too big, just a couple 10-15ft range. I’m so used to the profile of the BSOD, going back to full tip to tail camber will take some getting used to, and the magnetraction is noticeable compared to the death grip. I am really excited to get more time on it, especially knowing that it will break in and become even easier to maneuver. Late start to the season for me, I’m usually around 20 days by now and currently I’m at 4 🫤

@thezombiebiker thanks for the update. I hope it continues to be a board you enjoy riding. Cant really find one here. Only the non true camber version.
