European football needs some form of regulation. Yes a salary cap is unfeasible because of the structure of the sport, but some sort of equal revenue distribution or something to make the sport from becoming an oligarchy of 12 or so superclubs. FFP was a good idea for financial stability but has done nothing to shrink the gap.

​@Kevin Martinez Hard salary cap is not possible. There is too much of a revenue gap to implement any sort of fair salary cap. The reason it works in the us, is because there is also equal revenue sharing in the NFL and NHL. Also pretty sure the cas or european bodies would rule it illegal as they did with the maximum wage cap and other laws that place a limit on player earnings. A soft cap like a luxury tax in the NBA or MLB may work, but even those sports don't have as big of revenue gaps like european football.

I have respect for the traditions and accomplishments of the big clubs, but there's a limit to everything: e.g. Bayern Munich and Juventus. At this point, they're doing real damage to their domestic leagues. The purpose of having a professional sports league is to have teams fairly competing to win a championship. As in life, nothing is fair, but total dominance by one club isn't healthy. One obvious fix is to limit squad sizes. The rich clubs then can't just stock players (especially if the 5 substitute rule becomes permanent). Gridiron college teams in the U.S. used to do just this--accumulate massive rosters of players so that the smaller schools couldn't compete. The NCAA imposed scholarship limits which increased competition...only somewhat. But the current situation can't continue. People eventually are just going to lose interest. Relegation "battles" get old rather quickly.

These are merely estimates at best. A club is only worth what someone would be willing to pay for it. Nobody would buy Chelsea for 2.2 billion. Nobody would buy Spurs for 2 billion. Arsenal would fetch significantly more than either - ergo, they are more valuable.
