I love it that many who set their sights on the Toreador believe that they are, with some justification, a bunch of efeminate pretty bubbleheads. And when the Toreador masterfully turn the tables on them, they find that it was their first and last mistake.

Really? May I ask why? I'm not saying you can't have your favorites its just that I, personally never had any love for the toreador and want to hear the reason for the love of them. I don't really hate them either, its just nothing about them really clicked with me. I'm the type of person who creates a bunch of character sheets and characters I'll probably never use because there's a bunch of concepts I want to try in the future. Of the main clans, the three that I never seemed to vibe with were, toreador, the followers of set, and the brujah.

Interestingly, the Toreador are my very favorite clan! Perhaps because I was drawn to beauty even as a small child in real life! When I was three or four my grandmother who raised me, decided (it being the 1950's) that my room must be PINK and WHITE! So... she took my most beloved Victorian chest of drawers, made of beautiful burlwood, with inlay and finely grained wood *and painted it pink!!* I threw a tantrum, the violence of which terrified her! Scratching and clawing at the dresser I shrieked "Take it off! Take it OFFF!!" and would not be consoled! She had left the insides of the drawers unpainted, and in tears every morning thereafter, I would open the drawers and look at the unpainted parts. I fell into a depression that lasted until we moved (when I was six) and got rid of that now hated furniture! From that day until today, I adore wood and fine furniture and cordially loathe the color pink!

I only had a quick look into Coteries of New York to deem that I wanna play it myself. At least there I think Qadir was perfectly introduced and I got the feel of his inner twist without knowing him beforehand. Plus, with the gay Toreador - it seemed like there could be a romance between them or so some like me hope. Will see if that holds true. Excited anyways.
@lazarofstygia22414 жыл бұрын
I've seen Coteries of New York, but haven't played it. I'm sure if a nice fledgling like your character offered to whisk him away from the brutal and spiritually-degrading office of Sheriff and restore his lost humanity with your love, he might be tempted. But Qadir's 'art' is his duty, and a Toreador would sooner face Final Death than deny what best expresses their soul.

Seneschal is pronounced "SEN-eh-shawl."
@lazarofstygia22414 жыл бұрын
That is true. However, if we are strictly adhering to the rules of the Spanish language and just flexing, then the name of the clan should be 'Brujos', since a mixed sex group defaults to the masculine plural of a given noun.

You are correct about the Spanish pronunciation but it isn't spelled the same way...and the book's pronunciation guide offers the pronunciation that Lazar uses. Further complicating matters, official media uses both the Spanish pronunciation and the exotic one from the book. In my game, the Spanish pronunciation is common in California (Anarch Free State) and among Anarchs, with the exotic one from the book more common in Europe and among the Camarilla, but that's just a houserule.
