One thing I haven't been able to find in either a written or video tutorial (maybe you did one and I've just overlooked it) is how to make a straight edge on a c2c when it's still triangular as when making a shawl. Christa you should definitely add changing colors mid row and multiple colors per row like for a graphgan. I really struggled with these because as I figured out the basics I found so many wonder graphgan patterns I wanted to do. Also include the borders in the c2c list as well as your borders playlist. Some c2c designers do half double and other versions of it too. My favorite is the double crochet but only chain 5 when starting a block to keep the holes smaller.

Extra spindles - you simply pop your current colour on the magnetic base (no need for multiples). I don't like the mild tension that happens when pulling and it goes to the bottom of the skein, so I cake up the skein before use (the cake slides off the winder directly onto the spindle). Zero tension by doing that. As a bonus I've found out I can use my small winder without clamping it to a table - on hand holds it and the other cranks (I wind from the center so no bouncing skein).

Another comment regarding c2c; will you be showing how to, with different stitches like the bean stitch or more open lacy stitch? C2c is the only thing that makes self striping yarn worth buying. So I’m anxious to know how to do it with different stitches. Thanks Krista for giving all of inspiration and training. It is greatly appreciated.

About the yarn genie. I opted for the wooden one because the distance from the vertical side and the spinner is wider thus it holds a large cake or supersaver ball. Also you can put two smaller balls of yarn on one spindle. And switch colors or crochet together. I use my spinner often. I’m anxious to learn about the dual counter-sunk ones you have coming. Thank you for all you do.

I love your tutorial ideas for the granny square beginner and the C2C. Although, I never cared for the traditional granny cluster square pattern because of the holes it creates and multiple clor changes - too many ends to weave in, 😢. I never was interested in making them, but after 60 plus years of crocheting, I decided to try it out to see if I would change my mind. Nope, I still don't like the traditional pattern, especially using four or more colors, but learning how to make the square wasn't a problem for me. But I do like the idea of the square being a more transportable project and began my journey into different patterns that are more to my liking, such as the Solid Granny Square and other designs. Regarding more tutorial ideas, I would enjoy a masterclass on borders for granny squares and C2C combined into one class.😊

I use my wooden yarn holder thingy. I have the kind that attached by magnet and have no issues with it. When i have smaller cakes or skeins, i put 2 on the one unit. My idea is to have several spindle parts to just change that on one base. I also purchased one of the walk-around type that yo slip on your wrist. I don't use that at all. It is too awkward for me. I have some hand issues and don't always do things the usual way.

Good morning, Christa, I think I shared this with you before, when you commented that grannies aren't really a good beginner project... The very first thing that my mother taught me to crochet was a granny square, over 50 years ago. Not a proper one, with stepping up for each round, etc., but just keep going around and around with this weird lump in one corner... 😅 I've learned a little since then, including some from you (thank you 🙏).
