1:13:30 I actually find the idea of a crowd of demons outside Mark’s door having casual conversation like intermission at a show kinda hilarious. Like… “Oh hey Bob, didn’t think I’d see you here. Get a load of this guy eh? Think he’s gonna open the door tonight? I hope so, I’ve had these tickets for months! Anyway, how’s the wife and kids?” ”Ahh y’know, I wanted to bring my youngest here with me, but the Mrs started nagging me about how it’s ‘too early’ and ‘bad for his development’ yaddayaddayadda. Ya believe that crap? I was in diapers when I watched my old man torture his first soul and look at me, I turned out just fine! I tell ya, kids these days are too soft.”

If it bothers you, try listening with low volume and without headphones. The editor also adds slurping noises every time Wendigoon takes a sip of his drink in the first part, so if you hear something weird in the first hour or so, that’s why. 9:56-10:10 19:39-19:55 38:54-39:29 - It’s just the intro for part 2, so you’re not missing anything. 53:21-53:31 56:20-56:25 - Just gibberish 58:57-59:10 - not scary, just audio of their argument. 1:12:37-1:12:39 - knocking on the door 1:13:33-1:13:42 - not scary, just sounds of a crowd talking among themselves 1:19:00-1:19:02 1:34:31-1:34:42 - intro to pt 4 (not sure where 3 went lol) 1:39:34-1:39:40 1:57:43- 1:57:53 2:04:29-2:05:00 2:11:39-2:11:53 2:12:28-2:12:42 2:18:15-2:18:30 2:19:11-2:19:25 2:23:10-2:23:20 wendigoon does a pretty good job at describing what is said in these portions, so you shouldn’t be missing any important information. let me know if i missed anything.

I made the mistake of having this video on as background noise while I worked on a project late at night. Legit could not relax enough to sleep without cracking my door to let some of the light from the lamp outside my room flood in. Which is... pretty normal for me, all things considered, my imagination tends to run wild and scare me after watching spooky stuff. But what REALLY got me and made me realize just how much the mandela catalogue affected me was this morning (after I hadn't even watched it last night): I left early in the morning before sunrise to go to work, and felt decidedly more uneasy in the darkened house than usual. Even walking outside, through the outside world over to my car, and even sitting IN my car, because it was dark, I felt very unsettled, in a way I don't think I ever have before. The false Gabriel's face (not the goat-lookin one, the one from the later part of Overthrown) kept popping into my mind and every time it did every single shadow became that much more unnerving to me. Like, that face legitimately made me feel noticeably more unreasonably afraid and unsettled whenever I would think of it again. Hell, the only reason thinking about it right now isn't freaking me out again is because it's broad daylight. This series is just. ungodly, and i mean that in the best way possible. I'm so damn excited for the story to continue

I still love how much flipped allegory is stuffed into this story. Especially the Adam and Eve story. Both receive forbidden knowledge in the form of MAD and thus both are kicked from their “normal” lives and tossed into turmoil, but instead of Eve being tempted by the snake first it is Adam being tempting by the intruder. And instead of Eve convincing Adam to eat the fruit Adam is the one to tell Eve something she “wished she never heard.”

While I don't doubt that line has additional implications, Alex himself said in an interview with Wendigoon that the line, "Avoid opening your eyes when you are certain that the man in the corner is in fact now inches away from your face, watching" is just a teaser for the big spook in volume 2.

@@waido_I wouldn't say it doesn't have enough, look hiw shallow most horror movies are. You don't need deep lore. Like hellraiser and those horror movies that have 7 plus seqauls are the only ones with deep lore and the Lore usually feel so shoe horned. But that being said, it being on KZbin and made on A budget adds so much charm and makes it way more terrifying. Not saying there aren't horror movies that are lore heavy, I'm just saying it's not needed to make it to theaters.

@HungerGamesFan88
@HungerGamesFan88 6 ай бұрын
gore and possession are stereotypes at this point, but to see a format you grew up with manipulated like this is,,, oh no. like i remember using VHS tapes as a kid - i only remember them really falling off around maybe 06, and if you had a player still in good shape and a stockpile of cassettes, like we did, and especially if you had another kid on the way and you have some Sesame Street, Blues Clues, etc tapes from the older kid(s) that arent ruined by overplaying yet, there isnt much point in just tossing them. hell, i still have a bunch of DVDs! remember dvds? sure you can get the same movies on streaming services -(or just pirating)- but it's just not the same - not having to pay by the month and in turn having to skip through a billion ads just to get to the disc menu. and oh my god the dvd games?? so, in conclusion, analog horror is scarier than conventional/mainstream horror because youre /familiar/ with the format, youre /familiar/ with how it works, and the body of tropes/narrative devices hasnt been fully catalogued (haha) yet let alone overdone a hundred times over
