And people forget that at LSU, they used to park a LIVE TIGER outside of the opposing team’s tunnel 😂

As an LSU student I can confirm that any football-stadium-sized portion of Baton Rouge would be number 1 on this list.

Was at the earthquake game at LSU back in the 80's, but the loudest I have personally witnessed was in the 2019 Iron Bowl when McClain intercepted the ball at the goal line for Auburn and returned it for a touchdown.

I would say LSU because the natural acoustics of the stadium makes it very noisy at night in the end zones and in the evening the wind play tricks with the kickers and punters.

You hit it right on the head as far as the Stadium design and acoustics of Tiger Stadium. That's much different than other schools comparing aspects/features such as stadium capacity, mass shirt color coordination, entrance music, etc I'm an LSU/SEC alum so I'm gonna be biased toward another school, especially another conference when a fan base stakes a claim to #1 in ANYTHING college football. The first and only thing I hear about people who have been to Death Valley AND Happy Valley is, "Oh, the white out at Beaver Stadium is a sight to behold" blah blah...although the all-white looks cool (I'll give them that), that has nothing to do with crowd noise and how it measures/ can be directly compared to another stadium on this list. The seismograph on LSU's campus has registered 2 "earthquake-like events" during football games (1988 vs. Auburn, Hodson TD pass to Fuller, and 2007 vs. Auburn, Flynn TD pass to Byrd as time expired). Bear Bryant once said that coaching in Tiger Stadium was a "miserable experience", and compared it to feeling "like you are inside of a drum". I have never heard a Coach from a Penn St. opponent describe playing in the white out as "miserable" for opposing coaches and players. It's a true home-field advantage and a completely different sound in Baton Rouge that others wouldn't understand. Why do YOU think LSU is #1 on almost every national journalist, correspondent, or broadcaster's list? Because they have been to all the Stadiums, best of the best. Ask Scott Van Pelt. Ask Chris Fowler, Marty Smith, Tim Brando, Dan Patrick, and Penn St, at best, is a distant 2nd. There's an awesome behind-the-scenes video on Kirk Herbstreit's channel of him and Chris Fowler flying home from the LSU vs. Alabama game from 2022, and they are still, 2 hours after the game, in awe of what they just witnessed. Never seen a look of amazement like that in their eyes. If you are a Penn St. fan, I strongly suggest you check that out (search "Kirk Herbstreit LSU" or go to his channel and it is highlighted), and you will have a better understanding for the game-day environment surrounding a game in Death Valley. Keep in mind, neither of them have a dog in the fight (unlike Ryan Clark, Lavar Arrington, Marcus Spears, James Franklin, Shaq, etc). In fact, Herby is an Ohio St. Grad-

@@jonathanyoung9369 two more earthquakes registered during the Alabama game in November. I was at the Auburn game Oct. 20, 2007 (I remember because it was my 1st child's 1st bday). It was so loud the whole time until that last play, then silence. Almost like everyone was holding their breath, then Byrd scored and madness. It was incredible 💜💛💜💛

All of these "toughest stadiums to play in", " most intimidating place to play", "most intimidating environments" polls have been going on for decades. And for all of those decades LSU and Tiger Stadium always wins. The polls should just be for who's second. GEAUX Tigers!!!

Autzen and Husky stadium should be on this list.
@robertclark5874
@robertclark5874 Жыл бұрын
No they shouldn't. Autzen record is 60k people, and hasn't seen top 10 attendance since Chip Kelly. Husky has those roof-like structures over it that make it louder, but it also has weak attendance, plus Seattle is home to some of the quietest people in the country. I live 2 miles from Husky and have no idea when its a game day. The entire city of Baton Rough changes its schedule, mood, and traffic patterns on game day. They just had 200k people on campus 2 weeks ago.

Penn St is so overrated. Everyone saying the "white out" ignoring the fact that's one game of out 10+. This isn't about a single game in a 12 game season.... It's about every home game. Not just which ones you pick and choose...

@@americanguys5579 Fans and crowd noise don't actually make a game more difficult. I feel that statistics bear that out. But, some fanbases really bring a cool atmosphere. Like Virginia Tech last night vs WVU was awesome. But they got whooped anyways.

I, too, have lived around the nation, and the SEC stadiums are the loudest. LSU and Florida are terrible places for opposing fans. Although LSU fans are likely to feed you and alcohol consumption is high among a largely Catholic population, they can be nasty. But do not discount Florida. Gator fans can be MEAN.
