Mr. Towns - my son Noah and I had the good fortune of meeting your Mom twice. The first time was your junior year at St. Joseph's. We were watching you play in a tournament and my son was mesmerized...During half time my son approached the bench and waved to you - you waved back! Your Mom saw this and said "would you like to take a picture with my son Karl?". My son just nodded his head. As soon as the game ended and you collected your MVP trophy - your Mom asked for you to come over and you did so immediately. You knelt down and spoke with my son and took a picture which he cherishes. You could see how proud she was of you then. You only made her prouder as you accomplished more first at Kentucky and then Minnesota. We are very sorry for your loss. May her memory be a blessing.

@@kingtut2421 Yeah, this guy clearly doesn't know what he's talking about. KAT's one of the best at scoring in the block and is among the league leaders in post ups... while being double teamed constantly as soon as he touches the ball. He's opting to shoot more threes because of the offensive scheme of the team and because him spacing the floor opens up driving lanes for others.

My mother passed away from brain cancer in 2007. I'll never forget her mother's roar of agony while the casket was being lowered into the ground.. it pierced everyone's heart and the tears fell from each person's face simultaneously.. I know the pain brother. Truth be told, we never truly heal from it. We just learn how to cope with it and try our bests to make them proud while we're here. So when we meet again we don't have to hang our heads. I'll keep your family in my prayers. God gained another angel that faithful day. 🕊

I just want Karl to know that this story really touched me. I've lost my Grandfather this year to cancer and it has just been the worst year of my life too. Prayers to the Towns family and to everybody going through hard times right now. Never forget that you are not alone in this world and your family and friends always got your back.🙏

I lost my dad 2 months ago. A similar situation that I was the decision maker to pull the plug. It was only my 15 year old sister and I with him when he took his last breath. It is definitely day by day but I know my dad and your mom are with us right now. Thank you KAT for telling you and your mothers story. It helps me as well as many other who’ve lost a parent.

Brother I lost my dad this year. I lost him four weeks before this whole Covid thing started, and may be about seven or eight weeks before you had lost your mom. I want you know you’ve been one of my favorite athletes from the very start, right when you were out of Kentucky, but nothing will ever beat the compassion and love that came from your mom. I know it hurts, I know you miss them every single day, and I know you wish you were here. But all you can do now is make them proud for what they left behind. I’ promise she’s with you every day. She is so proud of the creation and of the person that she had to leave behind. You inspire me to keep going forward Karl. To keep moving my legacy make them proud. And I pray you never stop. She would never want you to. I know nothing can heal this pain, but know that I love you man, know that you make me feel like I’m not alone. We’ll get through this. I pray for you to have smiles, I pray for you to be well, and I pray that you and I will both get through this in our own right. But one thing that I promise you to know is that you made her proud, you blew her mind and expectations for what you could be. And you continue to every day. Thank you for being an inspiration and a hero to me, someone that I can relate with. I love you KAT, but never as much as your mama did. I promise you continue to with every step that you make brother. I’ve been crying for you and me both this year. Thank you for sharing this and having the bravery to take this step. It’s just another thing she’d be proud of. All love to you big bro, we’re all in it together. Thanks for standing for what you do, and being who you are, that was what she made best ❤️🤘🏼 rooting for you forever, 34

So sorry for your loss. I lost my mom in 2018. It's the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with but the memories will comfort you and staying close to family. One step at a time. I've learned to allow myself to cry when I need to and sometimes you'll get to the point or have days when you think about her and smile❤
