That Star Market in Malden closed well over 10 years before production of this movie. It was a real nice touch to add that line in to fully encompass that era

I don't care what anyone says jon hamm is a magnificent actor. his roles aren't over the top and that is confused with some as "bad". theyre subtle, and more realistic. he acts with his eyes, something that escapes many younger actors. don draper is executed perfectly, and he should most certainly get more recognition for that role. overall he is a consistently above average actor who is going to see a lot of screen time in the coming years for his look and his talents.

He's a great actor. The problem he has is the problem a lot of great TV actors have who played one character for a very long time. He's too associated with said character; in his case Don Draper. So much so the audience have a hard time seeing anyone else other than Don Draper on screen.

I think there are only two Stah Mahkets left. One for sure. The one on Beacon st. near the Cambridge/Somerville city line. The other is the one next to Magrath highway. Boston/Somerville city line. The second one might be a Shaw's now. I know Shaw's bought most of the Stahs in the Boston area. The first one, is one of those cheaper discount markets, due to where it's located. So Shaw's wasn't interested in buying it. Not profitable enough.

@devinandres5054 7 жыл бұрын
Cory HEAT was a better movie with better actors (Deniro & pacino) the best of the best. But Jon Hamm played the hardass FBI agent very well & it wasn't forced, he played out all the other characters weaknesses against themselves to create a rift. He is that guy u don't want on ur ass giving the "heat" an Al Pacino he is not but he pulled that role off hands down.. Ben Affleck directed that movie wich is his best film IMO. Considering he's an actor and not originally a director. Affleck did a great job with the casting Jeremy Renner, Blake lively, ext ext. Great movie

Devin Andres I feel it's unfair to compare two entirely different eras. Two very different takes on a heists based movie, Micheal Mann and Ben Affleck both created great heist movies. But they are just too different to make a fair comparison. It's classic vs modern, which is entirely preference dictated.

His response is to let the agent know that they know they're being monitored, that the FBI isn't as covert and skilled as they think they are. So the whole building of the case up to this point means nothing, and whatever evidence they found in the wrecked car isn't going to get them anything, because the crew's preparation is just that good.

In the book the relationship between the FBI agent and Claire was much more in depth. He really ran at her hard and the majority of his hatred for Doug was due to his relationship with Claire.

Jon Hamm needs to be in more movies. Only thing i know him in is this movie, mad men and that baseball movie in india (Super fucking random, but still pretty good)

Can someone explain this part? So they were detained and interrogated after the 2nd robbery and were given suspicion of robbing the bank the day before? Why were they let go?

The Boston crime drama genre has cranked out some pretty good flicks. The Town being my favorite, The Departed next, Gone Baby Gone third and Mystic River in last place (meh). I know the Equalizer remake was in Boston, but the City itself was not a “character” on that film like it was in these others.

In reality tho the character that is played by Jon Hamm is probably 10x more of a criminal then the character played by Affleck
