I used to live in japan until I was 7. I had a best friend there and we lost contact because we had no social media at that time. Then I coincidently found him on twitter because of picture from our last summer. There's this thing: most east asians DON'T look like any of those bleached and clinically modified idols, plus, I'm half brazilian and he is from okinawa, we both have naturally brown-ish skin and we tan easily. In that pic, we basically spent our last weeks playing outside and we got completly sunburnt, plus, it was a bad quality camera against the sun. Then, some random idiot came from nowhere and started to argue and demand him to delect that picture forever, called him racist, called the entire east asia racists and etc, because according to them, that pic was black face and how we were "fetishizing black people's 'aesthetics'". Then they tried to proceed "educating" us on "how actual asians look like" (a bunch of models, idols and influencers, heavily makeuped, photoshoped and bleached) vs "racist asians trying to look black" (some non edited average people and even some blasian kids). I hate twitter.

What people find disgusting, what triggers them, what they find acceptable or not is a matter of opinion and belief. Opinions and beliefs vary drastically in globally society. Acting on an attraction to minors is illegal here. In Saudi Arabia, provided you are married to one, it's legal. Homosexuality is legal here, in Uganda, it's not. Engaging in these activities in any of the countries where they are banned can get a person killed. Everyone has opinions or beliefs, not everyone can accept everyone else's.

Honestly, Twitter is one of the worst social media platforms out there. The things that were talked about in the video strengthened that belief. I’ve had friends ask me to download Twitter and my answer was always no. They would ask why, and my answer was that “Twitter is filled with nothing but toxicity.” I remember when zoophiles were really being talked about and when I heard about it, my reaction was “People have really become desperate, are really fucked up in the head, and need a lot of therapy.” With every community that you go to, there will be some toxicity in said communities like gaming communities or Tv show communities. Hell, I heard really terrible stuff about the BTS community and how they deal with people that don’t like the music. I will never use Twitter and if someone asks me why, the stuff talked about in this video will be the reasons why.

This! I do have a Twitter account, but I used to just post my art and communicate with/follow content creators I enjoyed. I spent most of that time in artistic circles, and occasionally in the MCYT (Minecraft KZbinr) Twitter community. It was all fun and games, and I really was just enjoying the creators, but it started becoming a pretty terrible experience as the community grew larger. Fortunately, I avoided most drama, but still experienced a lot despite it not involving me at all. I did get into some arguments that made no sense at all to me, as well as people just cancelling others over... nothing? While I do wish to have access to some social media back, I definitely would not want to be an active user on Twitter anymore. Russia does not currently have access to certain platforms, and honestly? I'm glad when it comes to Twitter. Without it present in my life I feel like a much healthier person, as well as I'm definitely saving myself from the mental hell that is Twitter Keep it up and avoid Twitter at all costs, that platform is beyond rotten
@AnonFreeze Жыл бұрын
@@DeadVoxel that’s the other thing that bothers me with people on Twitter: canceling people for stuff that happened a long time ago or just because they don’t like the person. For example,in the video, Kevin Hart was cancelled for some jokes he made years ago on Twitter and he apologized so many times and people on Twitter were not satisfied and wanted justice. The problem is that people on Twitter use “Cancel Culture” a lot and usually it’s to people who deserve it for something bad they did recently, but then most of the time they cancel others that don’t deserve it. Plus people on Twitter are unhinged. A good example is the situation with MeatCanyon and his video about the “Swifties”. Taylor Swift fans wanted MeatCanyon’s blood and head. The comments they left on Twitter were so unhinged you think that a lot of the Swifties are complete psychopaths.

The other funny thing is that the people who get upset when “cultural appropriation” happens, they don’t care when it happens to white people (or Asian people too these days) (not that I mind people doing cultural appropriation). But I saw it on a TV show the other day, “The Mole”, they went to Australian Outback and they put on these outfits and I thought “that’s cultural appropriation!” But it must have been “OK” for them to do that because it white people they’re doing it to. The term “Stan” comes from an Eminem song of the same name which tells about a fan named Stan who’s so obsessed with Eminem he ends up tying up his pregnant girlfriend, puts her into the trunk of his car and drives it off a bridge killing everyone because Eminem doesn’t immediately respond to his fan mail (only for Eminem to respond AFTER the guy killed himself and his pregnant girlfriend). It’s also believed that Eminem based the song off a guy who stalked him in real life. “Stan” was never a thing a person should try to be. Being a fan is great, but being a “Stan” is bad.

@@mancave10369Spreading child porn and predatory behavior is and should be illegal. Simply expressing that you are attracted to minors should not. Being a pedosexual/MAP/pedophile doesn't equal being a child rapist or wanting to rape children. Seeing those things as equal is similar to straight men being scared to be around gays simply because they are generally attracted to their sex. Sexual attraction doesn't equal sexual action and having a mental disorder doesn't eqaul being an evil person. The mental manifestation of human reproductive biology is heterosexuality between mature humans. Everything that deviates from that is a disorder but it isn't necessarily unethical just like heterosexual behaivor isn't necessarily ethical (like rape). It's evident that these disorders occure rather often and that they often aren't born from will and can't be cured. Treatment however can help people and in the case of pedosexuals prevent criminal behavior. People suffering from gender indentity disorder should be supported to have therapy or assisted in their gender transition to prevent suffering that can eventually lead to suicide. They shouldn't be seen as bad people just for not fitting into the norm. People that are attracted to minors should be supported in their control of sexual drive through therapy and possibly distanced from minors to prevent sexual exploitation of children and help the people having the disorder. I'm certain that a lot of things promoted on twitter under the label of MAP possibly the majority of things has no interest in protecting minors or having a civil discussion about humane treatment of disorders. Still I think there is a lot of progress to be made by discussing these things and that we should generally stigmatize this topic.

You're still exposed to the same type of people with the same attitudes. Misinformation, hatefulness and whatnot are as rampant on KZbin as they are on Twitter because the platforms complement each other. The only reason it doesn't feel that way is because of the algorithm. It knows what you like to watch so it keeps feeding you more of the same. If you watch Visual Ventures, you probably watch similar content made by sensible people and that's what KZbin will keep recommending. But really, the problem isn't Twitter. The problem is HUMANS. The entire Internet just reveals that no matter our physical age, we are Selfish, Cruel & Immature. When people believe they can do something free of consequences, they show who they truly are. As a matter of fact, all it takes is one step of distance from personal contact with another person to show how much we lack Empathy. Before the Internet, there were Cars & Roads, most people's driving behavior shows that we usually don't treat other vehicles as having people in them, we treat them like objects. I can't see any easy solution to this problem, but as with most things, the first step towards fixing it, is realizing the problem exists.
@darkprinc9792 жыл бұрын
There is no solution in this world, period. As long as people are individuals there will always be people who are bad actors that are willing to crush and destroy others in order to get what they want. No matter how many laws we make, no matter what punishments we enact this will always be an immutable fact of the world, because you cannot force another human being to subscribe to whatever standards of morality you have and you cannot force them to learn something they don't want to learn. This isn't a popular thing to say in a world where opinions are held higher than truth, but the only solution to these problems *must* come outside of humanity, and must come from someone greater than humanity. This is why the founding fathers of the United States understood that faith is essential to the United States remaining a free and moral society. The only solution we have is to look to God our creator, because only he is perfect and only he can make humanity better through his son Jesus.
@torikazuki87012 жыл бұрын
Well... that's *your* opinion. ^_~ No, seriously I agree with you. And something else about this Culture War that more (most?) people need to realize- It is not between Democans or Republicrats, it is not between The Left or The Right, it is not even between Liberals or Conservatives. This struggle is actually between those who believe that personal feelings and power are the final arbiters of 'truth' (and if you have the power, you make the truth) and those who acknowledge that there is an Objective Reality that exists independently of us & does not change to suit our fancy.
@darkprinc9792 жыл бұрын
@@torikazuki8701 I wholeheartedly agree with what you're saying, although I would say that the issue is more nuanced than that. These emotionally driven people would not get very far on their own because their views simply don't hold up to reality. They are in large part the front line force that is being manipulated and used from the shadows by those that wish to topple America and create a power vacuum. As I see it there are two different factions working in unison to destabilize America, but who are in competition for taking its place when the dust settles. On the one hand you have the Chinese Communist Party, who seeks world dominance because they just want power, and on the other hand you have the people like George Soros and Bill Gates who are arrogant enough to think that they are smarter than everyone else and know what's best for everybody. From there you have influencers in the United States who are willing to sell out the American people either for ideological reasons or for personal gain. What we're seeing now is the culmination of decades of work through infiltration of all of our institutions, from academia to politics and everything in between. They have gotten into the financial sector, they have gotten into churches and schools and medical boards and so many other places. Of course, they are in other countries as well, but the United States has been the primary target because of the amount of influence it holds and also because our form of government makes things much more difficult. Even now the MAGA movement is crippling the influence these people have in the United States, though at this point we've gone way too far to avoid the coming disaster and can only mitigate it.
@Buglin_Burger78782 жыл бұрын
War already showed this, people who want billions when you need roughly 5 million for one life showed this. Twitter isn't showing anything new. Religion itself is the height of this. There is no solution because even if you hide it people feel these things still. There is healthy steps to reduce the negative impact. Sites have hard filters, political things require you to check a box to see them. Adult content is much the same, check a box and prove you're an adult. Expose less people to the intensity and in turn less people get intense themselves. The people who are deeply into politics can simply not check the box and won't be dragged into a spiral while if they check it what can you do for people who willingly drink or smoke except offer them an out and place rules to protect others from them.

Kids on social media are the worst thing since ever. As a white male, going through 8th grade is hard because people will sometimes say racial slurs to me and im afraid to say anything back in fear that a couple of people will think I'm racist. People call me a dumb white boy and theres just hate everywhere. I just wish that social media didn't exist at times, but then I would've never met my friends. You gain some and you lose some.Yet It's gotten to the point where I don't display emotions. I was always told that men need to hold in their emotions, so I did. Now if someone calls me stupid or whatever I just chuckle a bit and hide all my emotions. Now I'm not happy at all and its all because of kids with social media. Thanks a lot, Twitter.

the beginning of my "community cancelation" (if you wanna call it that) was sparked from me saying "i wish twitter wasnt so politically toxic" which led to a dozen different people with large followings who i had good ties with for quite some time suddenly pull the plug on me, along with nonstop attacking comments, constantly twisting my words, regardless of how clear i tried to make myself on what i meant ,,,, which at it's purest roots, was just a wish to stop seeing completely vile, mean, and pure hateful comments being endlessly and relentlessly pointed at others every single day. It was just depressing to see, and simply voicing that stance, and more over a wish to see more positivity on the platform, i was villainized. I think the most disheartening replies were when asking a few individuals if i could speak in DMs to clarify things, and they'd reply with "no" and a block. ;_;

I feel terrible for Tommy, and actually for a lot of CCs in the Minecraft community - Wilbur as well, who is being romanticized a lot. Most of those CCs are young and were even minor at the time (Ranboo, Tommy was 16 when he blew up, Tubbo 17). Being confronted to fame at that age is already a challenge. Having to experience bullying and hatred on top of that is just so sad and it makes me angry. No matter what you think of people, the internet is no fricking justice court. People bullying Dream on his looks and on everything else made me want to throw up because it’s not a matter of guilt here, it’s a matter of law and human dignity. I hate Andrew Tate with all my heart, and this is an extreme case of an actual criminal, but I’ll never go stalk him or tell other people to insult him, because I think it’s up to justice to do what it’s supposed to do.
@DeadVoxel Жыл бұрын
Right? I mean, just how hypocritical is it to defend minors with all of their heart, yet doxxing, harassing, bullying and cancelling a minor at the same time??? Twitter is full of hypocrisy and people who think they can bring justice to everything and anything. Justice is certainly important, especially when the legal forces or massive platforms won't do anything about a clear issue, but why does Twitter think it's a good idea to lash out onto people who THEY think did something wrong when objectively, they did not? Too many "lost" people are in these types of communities, the average person outside the box can only spectate as trying to reach out just detriments your own mental state, I learned that the hard way and decided that its best to observe rather than act, especially when you don't have the means to make true change.

I have to disagree about the art. There are works way more gruesome and less controversial simply because it's in text form. There is also 50 shades of gray (I mention it cause it was extremely popular at a point) which is not only controversial, it features grape. Many movies feature grape, including children, just not usually depicted. It's just when it is in comic form especially made by a single artist that people take offence. I don't care for the offence, art is art, it's not supposed to be real. It's not even fetishistic in nature, it's just gruesome and wrong. I think people just miss the point. Murder is an horrible thing that is also offensive and yet we are constantly exposed to it, you are all just hypocrites or blind to it.
