BMW already said they aren't giving Toyota the S58 its a M exclusive engine. Toyota has to do something with the B58 we will probably see 475hp instead

If it’s 500hp it’s indeed the s58 without a doubt. It couldn’t be anything else from bmw. Also b58-s58 are in the same engine family this engine would most likely drop right in and utilize preexisting bmw supply chain parts that the supra is already using. Most likely they could Bolt up some big brakes and suspension from the new m2. Put supra grmn over the m logos.

Yet FAIL to REALIZE that the MK4 A80 Supra wasn't a decent seller throughout the 90s(the MK3 A70 Supra remains the top selling Supra to date), and that the 2JZ series engine literally started in the Toyota JZA147(Aristo)/Lexus GS Sedan. NOT the Supra A80 MK4.

It'll be closer to 580 bhp. It'll actually make 470-490 rwhp and weighs 3350 lbs. It'll easily run a stock 11.1-11.3 1/4 at 125-126 mph. That's R35 territory on the low end, but it'll walk the R35 up top. It should theoretically run a 7.9-8.1 60-130, since 480 whp DP JB4 E30 supras are already running that. Valid dragy confirmation on them already.

BMW will not give Toyota the S58. They might let Toyota throw some forged pistons in the B58 and chuck a larger turbo on it. That will yeild 500hp easily. But definitely won't be an S series motor

@@fzr1000981 it is proven for what it is however it is not really a tune it's more of a piggyback option. It was the only option up until I think just recently where they may be custom tuned and s58. I'm not an expert but I have personal experience from people having issues with the jb4 and being inferior to a custom tune on the b-58 platform causing over boost and what not but not straight up blowing it up like I've heard with the few s58 s

If its coming they will announce it after Nissan announces or shows of their Nismo version of the new Z. The Z is this cars main competitor and a GRMN version will only be announced after the Nismo Z. We have been hearing rumors about the GRMN and manual since 2020 when the Supra first came out and they only chose to release the manual after the Z.

Depends how you look at it. The Tesla hits it’s crazy acceleration times under specific conditions and prepared. It’s not like you can launch it at full speed at every set of lights. I can do that in the Supra all day no problem. But yes the Tesla Plaid is the faster car.
