When DaddyOFive first began their channel back in 2015, the goal was simple: play some light hearted pranks in order to generate views. In the beginning, the Daddy'O'Five channel was fun, however as time progressed, it would steadily descend into an increasingly tragic tale. Eventually, DaddyOFive would lose custody over part of his family, have his channel deleted, and completely steamroll his reputation in the process.
This is, The Tragedy Of KZbin's Saddest Family Channel: DaddyOFive.
Thank you guys for watching, like and sub if you enjoyed, SunnyV2 XO ❤
The idea for this video was partially inspired by "InternetAjay" who posted a video on a similar topic in August 2021 titled "The Rise And Fall Of DaddyOFive: From Family Prank Channel To Deleted" You can watch his version here - • The Rise And Fall Of D...

The ink prank was always very interesting to me, the dad’s yelling sounds like bad acting but the mom sounded genuinely angry (even though it was her idea) almost as if she had some built up hatred towards Cody (which she probably did)

I wanted to comment that too! She also said he was a difficult child and clearly had a grudge against him. She was enjoying seeing him scared and crying. Her screaming sounded like genuine anger or hate. It's like with my dog. If she does something bad, I just can't get my voice deep and all serious. But there was this one time when she was a puppy and she was hurting my other very old dog at that time and I was genuinely mad and only then did I manage to really raise my voice.

Like during the lead up to the first adoption "prank", the middle kid basically channeled the mom with the whole "We can't do anything because of Cody" which is the same language Heather used all the time. She HATED Cody & Emma, but loved them bringing in the views.

@@TrueEnergizerBunnies That sounds about right. I'm no medical professional, but I don't think ODD is a thing. I personally think it's a lazy blanket diagnosis when psychs don't want to look into a child's actual problems. Every child I've worked with that "had ODD", they were actually trauma victims and most were autistic or had ADHD. Not saying cody is autistic, but he definitely is a trauma victim. Plus mental health Systems are notorious for just slapping half assed diagnostics onto children they deem as "problematic" or "difficult".

@@AgarthanExecutioner if you’re not a medical professional then how can you claim that you don’t think it exists? If you don’t have the qualifications to understand the disorder, then you can’t claim that you think it doesn’t exist when you don’t understand medical issues or disorders at all. Don’t try to say something if you don’t have proper evidence to show, and when you clearly don’t have any qualifications in the area you’re talking about. And as someone with a family member with ODD, I can tell you that that’s very wrong. Ever heard of comorbid disorders? If you have one, you’re more likely to have another? The reason that you see people diagnosed with ODD that also have ADHD and such is because it’s a cormorbid disorder. If you have ADHD you are moser likely to also have ODD more than a neurotypical person. Please educate yourself. ODD is in the DSM 5 for a reason, and can even develop into another disorder in adulthood. Please stop saying what you did as that can be extremely harmful. My siblings always knew they could get a reaction out of me as did my parents and so I was often blamed for stuff I flat out didn’t do, because my siblings thought it was funny to watch me freak out and my parents would harshly punish me. For instance, one time my sister threw a rock at a church window that was near our house, then said I did it. Naturally my parents took her side and when I said she did it, I was hit with a belt buckle so hard, it gave me a permanent scar on my cheek. To this day I do not have contact with my family, because in essence they are dead to me. I am sure Cody will learn to resent his family much like me. My stomach turned when the dad told Cody that “he’s a problem child” and “teachers should get raised” because that’s how my father treated me. Asking a kid "are you traumatized?" is CRAZY and any mental health professional worth their salt would have a problem with this. Especially when the person asking the kid is the one who did the traumatizing. What did you THINK those kids would say!? Of course they're going to say they weren't. It's called "fawning" and it's one of the four main ways abused people deal with their abusers when confronted like that.

Absolutely, it's a survival skill! Even adult victims use this tactic to survive their abuse - and adults can be independent and fend for themselves - unlike children who can't move out, can't get in their cars and leave, can't fight back physically, can't set boundaries, can't smash their dad's jaw with a well deserved haymaker.

The ink prank still manages to make me cry, it’s his body language. He was raising his hand up to his chest as a defense mechanism, and with his eyes switching between his “father” and “mother” searching for a glimpse of reassurance that someone believes him and everything would be okay. He looked, and possibly felt, helpless at that situation. And to make matters worse was her screaming!! Some idiots don’t see the negative effects of what screaming at a child would do, it’s an easy/messed up way to cause trauma and ptsd to them. I genuinely feel so bad for Cody. I mean in the invisible ink video and just in general tbh they caused him to essentially have a complete emotional breakdown (multiple times.) The abuse these poor children (especially Cody) had to go through just for some attention online is so horrible. And the parents still have the nerve to play the victim talking about how they were being “attacked”. I hope the children are living a better life now. Edit: I edited my comment a bit bc looking back over it some words were kind of misused and the edit conveys what my thoughts are more clearly. Sorry everyone. Actually I kind of have this same problem. I’m a freshman and when I was little I knew if I did something wrong, my parents would be livid. One time when I was in first or second grade, My whole room was striped of almost anything to have fun with and they would have no regrets. That was in the past, after one time in 5th after getting extremely bad grades and them throwing notebooks and binders on the floor questioning every single piece of paper in my backpack, I think that was the point where things finally calmed down in punishments. I have made good grades from now on and when I do get bad grades it almost a totally different reaction. Instead, they look at me disappointedly and say I’m grounded until they are good again, meaning no technology (Except for NETFLIX AND Disney+ on TV.) or they say “two weeks to pull it up or I ground you from something”. This has been a much better way for me to bring my grades up. Now anyone who says “oh no I feel sorry for you” don’t be, I grew up with a little stressed out parents, but that’s all in the far past. I have always been just fine. Please read this before you decide to worthlessly say “oh no I’m sorry you had something bad happen” for no reason. Thank you.

I had basically the same childhood experience other than the fact it didn't get shared online (thank god I was born before the youtube era) and I can tell you that shit sticks with you forever. psychological abuse is just as damaging as physical abuse. I'd get bullied and harassed at school, get punished for reacting, and then go home just to get bullied and harassed by my grown ass adult father. There were literally times as a kid I would sit in my room as he screamed at my mother downstairs and I'd plan what would be the best way to kill him. My mum would tell me to "just be the bigger person" when I was a literal child as if this 60yr old man doesn't know any better. I still feel rage when someone behaves in a way that reminds me of him and I'll always hate him for ruining my brothers ability to develop socially in a normal way. I can't imagine having to grow up with all that and then also know that it had been posted online for millions to see and laugh at your pain. I hope that kid gets some fucking good therapy and actually gets some support for his ODD.

For me at least, there were instances I'd get so upset I'd feel ill and couldn't think straight. The one thing that helped me calm down was being alone. Being somewhere I couldn't hurt myself or anyone else gave me the time necessary to calm down before a situation escalated to violence. This is an unpopular opinion but the reaction was way overblown and the parents shouldn’t have lost custody of their kids. It was clear that the parents weren’t abusive as they didn’t abuse the kids at all in the earlier videos and always knew when to stop before taking it too far, but eventually the views took over their rationality and they tried justifying taking it too far by saying that it was only for the video and that the kids were okay with it. Obviously, it was wrong but it was easily rectifiable and didn’t require CPS removing custody of their children from them. People really did destroy a perfectly happy and normal family.

don't forget the gaslighting; if his parents convinced him that _he_ did it, but he doesn't remember doing it, he might eventually believe he did do it, and then think he has something wrong with his memory, or be gaslighted to "remember doing it" even if he did not.

As a behavioural psychologist, who has worked almost exclusively with children, teens, and young adults, for the past 27 years, I can honestly say they aren't the worst I've ever seen, but the only ones who record their acts of abuse who are worse than Daddy'O'Five and his wife, are those who sell their recordings directly to a certain type of collector. Sadly, there is a big market for video and audio recordings of people punishing, humiliating, and tormenting, their children.

I was abused as a child. I remember stumbling upon this channel when I was about 14-15 and immediately seeing the abuse behind the "pranks." If you see something, say something. I know social media can seem like make believe sometimes, but you were literally watching child abuse in front of your eyes, and you did nothing to stop it from happening again. These are real criminals with real residences...just a phone call for a "welfare check" to social services would have been enough.

Suffering? They lost their kids but they’re still living off their KZbin money. They were big at the right time of KZbin history when ad revenue was actually really high. They probably justified the abuse because they were making like 20k a video. They should’ve had all their earnings taken away and given to birth mother for college and expenses. The kids earned the KZbin money and paid for it in trauma.

I prank my kids by pointing at their shirt, telling them they've got some dirt, and booping their nose when they look down. I do it to my husband, too. Works 90% of the time. They just don't learn! I've also blasted Rebecca Black's "It's Friday" over the speakers in their rooms on a Monday morning before school. I had a rotten childhood, much like Cody's, so I like to fill our house with laughter. I hope Cody has learnt to laugh again. Bless his heart.

As long as you aint abusing kids you should be good, but as just some guy without a mustache says, family channels in general don’t age well at all, a lot of times it comes down to parents just exploiting their poor children for views. Also you shouldn't be worrying considering your channel isnt a family channel. I dont think anyone is going to care considering only a couple videos may have your family in it.

Ive been in the kids place before, it broke my heart to see the look on their faces when they answered that they are fine, and everything is alright when their abusers questioned them. My abusive father was like that to me and my siblings as well. After hes done abusing us, he let things settle down a little and after we were done crying he point blank asked us in our face wether or not we would do it again, or were we okay now. And as victims of his abuse, it felt like we had no choice but to say we were fine and act like nothing ever happened or else things would get worse either that moment or later when the absue started back up again. he would find a way to justify what he did to us, like it was no big deal and trauma it caused was none existent and we were just acting like babies. And it’s disgusting to see not one, but BOTH of them act so much like that man. .
