My love for Assassin's Creed died with Lucy Stillman. It was then that I noticed that the main modern story was completely derailed and jeopardized. Desmond and Lucy were supposed to have children and have a game of their own set in the modern day. But behind the scenes, Kristen Bell and Ubisoft had an ugly falling out, so Ubisoft couldn't keep Lucy's character, so they not only killed Lucy off, they assassinated her character, (pun NOT intended), by rewriting her backstory into a triple agent and traitor.

At first I thought,why couldn't ubisoft just find someone else to voice Lucy? That would the first think I'd think of in their shoes,but then again the whole modern storyline conflicted heavily with them wanting to milk AC yearly so they probably didn't care.

When greed overcomes passion, we get what's happening with Assassin's Creed. At this point, AC is just a cash cow for Ubisoft and when they make more money of micro-transactions than the game itself, well... there's no incentive to stop is there. I mean, even Eivor didn't want to be an assassin... in an AC game lol (I actually liked Valhalla a lot, it's just that I think that Valhalla is a bad AC game but a very good viking era game, meaning they could've released it standalone, but the AC brand sells). Another problem with just not Valhalla/Odissey/Origins is that Ubisoft tends to create their open worlds bloated with stuff for the players to collect instead of actual content, making most of the world empty. Take a look at Skyrim, the map is big but there's always a new place to find and explore (not gonna even bring mods into this). And does anyone even care about the real world story anymore ? Because I stopped caring after Desmond. And not to mention, Ubisoft says they to "return" AC to it's roots but then give Basim special powers...right, then let's hope we get AC games set in Germany and Romania so that I can transform into a werewolf or vampire respectively.

I'm not sure you were clear enough in pointing out that Valhalla did NOT make $1 billion from microtransactions. It was the first game in the series to gross $1 billion from a combination of all the total game sales, DLC, cosmetics AND microtransactions. Although the exact figures are not official, it is widely believed that when separated, the microtransaction portion amounted to between $100 - $150 million.

Man, you’ve compiled some awesome context for the series here! Weirdly gives it a more dynamic and interesting backstory than the games themselves, haha ;D Bro, “players saw the villa as side content in AC2 so they didn’t engage with it. We looked at that and doubled down on it anyway for this one!” (paraphrasing lol) Are.. you joking? That was your takeaway, mister designer guy? Haha, I haven’t played anything newer than Syndicate yet, so idk how well that worked for them or how it’ll feel to me, it was just goofy to hear :p Also I’d think the change in focus from stealth and storytelling to direct action would make it far more appealing to me and my usual tastes, but certainly not when it’s so heavily RPG-ified! I guess that’s why I’m so hesitant to jump into the new ones. Though I do love The Division a heck of a lot, so maybe it’ll be some magical experience ;p Time will tell. Anyway, good video and thank you for your efforts ^^

Assassins Creed Unity. It bothers me immensely that they made such an epic prologue to the game set in Medieval France where you fight as the Templars ... but they did not even bother to give anyone a medieval sword. They all use 17th century swords... and I hate that. They could have easily just added ONE medieval arming sword that you can use in game ,that fits perfectly with the Superb medieval assassins armour (Dark Altair armour) ..but they refused to just do that. On the flip side, ‘Revelations’ shitty NPC copy & paste potato face was clearly a focus in unity, you have vast crowds of people and not once did I feel like even one NPCs face was copied to another ,it was that good. The architecture/building design is so detailed and strikingly beautiful, the devs certainly deserve an applause for that. The combat is slightly clunky but good overall. Social stealth and Assassinating an enemy around a corner is brilliant in Unity, you kill the target and you neatly place the body against the wall you were hiding against. I wish you were more involved with the major events, like being in amongst the crowds during the storming of the Bastille and such but I digress. They did justice to Napoleon, the weapon and combat variety is vast and engaging, the setting is superb for assassin activity and there are little to no mythological addons nor any excrement of the woke feminazi Cult which makes this AC brilliant, 8/10.
@ivanstrydom8417
@ivanstrydom8417 3 ай бұрын
I truly hope that Assassins Creed One is getting a graphical remake. They should just work on the graphics and add more medieval arming sword options, I would love to use a beautiful Crusader arming sword as Altair. I don't care one bit about the story outside of history/the animus, I just want the historical content. My top ACs are Origins,2,Brotherhood and Unity. Revelations setting of Constantinople was superb, but the half arsed npc design ( copy and paste potato face) really placed that game on the back burner for me. (Revelations Desmond looked like such a doofus.) But without a shadow of a doubt my favoutire Assassin's Creed of all time still remains Assassins Creed one. The setting of the Levant is such a climax in our world's history, the numerous cultures and world views that all convened ,coexisted and cooperated at this crossroads were immense. Medieval, in cities that are policed by soldiers , guards and police forces , shows exactly why stealth and assassins were a reality/necessity. Those settings are superb. With iconic cities such as Arce,Demascus and the center of the world Jerusalem , the world in which you find yourself is so rich in history, culture and importance, filled with peoples and packed, lively streets. In a medieval setting using European arming swords, ME shamsiers , short sword, throwing knives and your iconic hidden blade , makes the close quarters melee combat the best there ever was. I adored the melee combat in these older AC games, such beautiful, complex, flowing moves that were so elegant and deadly and AC 1 still has the best / most beautiful melee movesets of all the games. You start with just your hidden blade, then slowly as you develop your skills and rank up you gain access to more and more weapons until you are armed with some of the most elegant and deadly weapons of the middle ages. You only use a one handed weapon, thus only a single handed or double handed weapon, no Sword+dagger or sword + shield or two sword combo and that is melee perfection to me. An arming sword in the hand and nothing in the other. In the remake If they added some moves that included damaging the enemy with your hidden blade whilst in a melee duel using your sword, like when you fight janissaries in AC Revelations then it will be pure melee perfection. The stealth in AC 1 is brilliant, I love that you walk around like a praying monk in robes to blend into the city, even when crowds are unavailable, but if you walk as a praying monk, alone into a restricted area, the guards will still chase you away and become suspicious. It is so good. In Unity you use a corner to remain out of sight, assassinating an enemy around a corner you kill the target and you neatly place the body against the wall you were hiding against also out of sight. I REALLY hope this will be present in AC 1s remake. Altair is by far the most intriguing and capable Assassin to me , he is strong, calculating, mysterious and in my opinion the most skilled assassin thus far. You sit on benches to blend into the crowd, or you join a group of monks in prayer allowing you to vanish from your pursuers. The way the factions in the game are depicted is good, Unlike the propaganda of the repulsive woke cult of today , they don’t portray the Christian Crusaders as the villains. Although they did portray the Crusader held territories as cold, bleak, dilapidated and run down where the Muslim areas are vibrant and more appealing which I do not agree with. Especially the Hospitallar quarters which in reality were some of the cleanest and most clinical areas in the entire Levant since they specialised in surgery and the healing and recuperation of all injured / sickly people , be it wounded crusader knights or Muslim/Christian/Jewish villagers sharing the same cities. The Crusaders specialised in the construction of wells and water ways / aqueducts that facilitated the flow of fresh , clean water into controlled cities and waste water out of these cities. (Although I can’t recall if Acre was under siege at the time in game, if that is the case, that could explain the city's dilapidated state.) But be that as it may, you still fight against the Crusaders as well as the invasive Muslims. At the end they show that the enemy is not the Templar Knights , but instead the corrupt ,evil leaders on both sides of the conflict. I love that they correctly show that both factions have evil and corrupt figure heads that you have to assassinate and in turn both factions have good honorable leaders that bring so much good to the world such as King Richard the Lionheart and Saladin. The toughest enemies to fight are the Great helm wearing Templar Knights and rightly so. These special forces of their time were a force to be reckoned with and even when you use all your combat skill and tricks… you still get a proper run for your money when challenging a Templar Knight to a duel. I don't want open world, I don't want guns and I loathe MYTHOLOGICAL / MAGICAL shit looking at you AC Viking hype train. Keep it 100% Historical. I loved that AC1 gave tiny hints about God Three in One's existence/presence but that was never the focus. I want an AC with the depth and realism similar to Red dead Redemption but in a Medieval/Ancient setting. I can’t stress how much I love AC one and I can’t wait to play it again when the remake comes out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6isZId5odabhdU kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2PanZmwjc2ZaZo

I feel like the author of this video skipped quite a few of these games lol, there are a bunch of pronunciation mistakes and incorrect details that seem to come from reading articles rather than experiencing the games themselves. Which isn't an indictment of the video or anything - you don't need to play every game in a series to write about it if you're drawing from some good sources and a few small errors aren't such a big deal when covering such a big topic - but it was really weird hearing things like "Akwilla" instead of "Akeela" or "Nasoo" instead of "Nassaw" when they say these words so many times in the games, let alone "Buh-SIM" instead of "BA-sim". There were also some really odd mistakes like saying that AC Rogue introduced a new combat system inspired by the Arkham games when it just used the same combat system from AC3 and AC4, calling the Rope Launcher from Syndicate "Jacob's rope launcher" when both characters have the same tool, and saying Origins introduces a day-night cycle when day-night cycles had been present in all games from AC2 to AC Rogue, among others. On a different note, ~21:20 Darby McDevitt has explicitly stated that Edward Kenway's personality was NOT influenced by negative reception to Connor, contrary to common fan speculation. Also Blackbeard is only 13 years older than Edward, and Edward had a father growing up, he's not "the father figure [Edward] never had" they're just friends lmao

I was very ambitious when I began these types of videos, doing an entire series was very difficult. It's why I won't do them, anymore lol. I do appreciate your comment and you're right. I stopped playing AC after blackflag, picking up origins and odyssey, and skipping Valhalla. But I was so far involved in making the script and doing the research, I just pressed on. It's very apparent what games I didn't play, besides black flag, pronouncing things incorrectly, that's just me being an idiot lol. As far as the day night cycle, it wasn't so much the day to night time, it was the AI were "living" and reacting to day and night cycles. If this was in something before, I missed it. Assassin's Creed Revelations. AC Revelations is truly where the brilliance fell into the gutter. Revelations setting of Constantinople was superb, but the half arsed npc design ( copy and paste potato face) really placed that game on the back burner for me. (Revelations Desmond looked like such a doofus.) The Combat in Revelations against the Janissaries were sensational …but the rest of the combat was too repetitive especially with the yatagan (Idiotic head stab and 360 twist..I HATED that). The copy + paste potato face, the braindead, repetitive ''stab sword in head and rotate '' kill move, the incorrect way they depicted the Byzanitens and the irritating tower defence mini games.. that was truly a low for AC... but oh boy could Ubisoft dig deeper and sink even further... looking at you AC Syndicate / Viking Hype train. The fact that they delved ever deeper into gunpowder territory truly became a bother. I don't care one bit about the ''modern story'' outside of the animus, and even on this unwanted front did Revelations step into uncanny valley with doofus Desmond. Assassins Creed Origins The Setting of Ptolemaic Egypt is superb, the entire region is filled with immense beauty, the setting pulls you in and saturates your brain in another time,in another world. The setting is so beautiful that you wish not to ride atop your cherished camel ,instead you constantly want to walk the sand covered streets,the agricultural fields of the Bread Basket,in the blissfully idyllic oasis and in the spectacular landscapes of the Egyptian desert. The wildlife is accurate, engaging and adds an adventurous aspect to the game, like wrestling a Nile crocodile or running away from a charging hippopotamus, it feels so natural and makes you love Egypt even more. You have a pet falcon that aids in scouting and in combat, the most perfect friend a man can ask for. I love my little Horus. The weapons, the outfits/armours are numerous and good. Although the combat is terrible. I despise health bars and any repulsive damage numbers. The level icons above the enemy means either you can just button mash to kill lower level enemies or if the level is x1 level above yours, they enemies are damage sponges that one hit you . Not nearly as good as the older games, it is clunky, with ill fitting button allocations , it relies too much on button mashing and ‘’adrenaline power ups’’ instead of well timed counters and beautiful/elegant counter/take down moves. For the Copesh … the most iconic Egyptian sword...there are only 2 KILL MOVES… Whilst fighting unarmed , you can’t disarm an enemy , here too it is just button mashing and ‘’adrenaline power ups’’..to do faster button mashing…. It is frightening to me how AC1s combat is far superior to a game created more than a decade later. You play the entire games Byek but of course it is the femiazi that assassinated Julius Caesar, have to show how a woman kills the most powerful man on the planet. FUCK the woke femiazi cult Assassinating an enemy around a corner is not as good as in Unity, in Unity you kill the target and you neatly place the body against the wall you were hiding against. Here you don’t hide as much as crouch awkwardly against a wall trying to face the correct direction when the enemy passes, then once you assassinate him..the body just drops to the floor right there for all to see, then you have to move over the body, pick it up and carry it 2 feet around the corner and flop it down on the floor. Why did Unities dev team do such a better job than this team? Unfortunately there is no social stealth….you can only hide in bushes, hay or some sparsely placed closets. No blending into/hiding in crowds, on benches, or working with clerical factions to hide in plain sight. They really missed the ball on this one. The characters are most engaging, Baek is a brilliant protagonist, a Madjey returning home after a long expedition ,finding his home under occupation and tracking down those in power with ill repute and working on creating a regime change.The way you lose your ring finger in game is epic. You can disable the idiotic damage numbers which greatly increases immersion. You can read scattered papyri that tells you so much of this fabled land,of its peoples and its culture, then you get to delve into ancient (even for that time) crypts ,exploring the ancient tombs of Pharaohs a millenia older than Cleopatra herself, that leaves you itching with excitement to see what adventurous treasures lies around the next corner. This game is a visual piece of art, bringing the past to life. Although it is not perfect ,It is really good. 8/10 due to the mediocre combat, the feminazi BS and lack of social stealth..

Origins and Odyssey are peak Assassins Creed, but yall are scared of rpg elements. The Series desperatly needed a change after Syndicate was received as "just another" Ac game and they delivered. Valhalla jusz ended the trilogy on a sour note. Nice editing tho xD

Odyssey is only ac in name,it has nothing to do with assassins creed. You play as a half God with superpowers and magic abilities and spear that makes you teleport,, you also fight mythical creatures . Origins is a pretty good when it comes to ac lore and main story, but it could've been better if they left out the mythical aspects of the dlc and the trippy story segments. None of what I mentioned is because of rpg elements in gameplay, all problems are with brand and story continuity, or rather lack thereof. Ac needed a gameplay change in the past, especially the combat, but throwing everything thats good with the gameplay and narrative In the trash is not the right answer.

@@tozkal96 So you're telling me, that if Ubisoft made Red dead 2 and called it AC, it would still be Trash? That's just dumb. Origins and Odyssey are fantastic games with a great narrative and nobody but old bitter AC fans care about the Assassin's Creed eSsEnCe. Besides that, there have always been superhuman objects, people and Events in AC.

You're putting words in my mouth. I never said that the games are trash, in fact these games are some of my favorite games of all time.its just not naratively cohesive with the older games with is whyni dont think they should be named ac. there was never magic tho, only scifi noone was for an example immortal before odyssey. And if changing the rules of the universe that were set by Ubisoft is ok? Then Harry potter should be able to wield a laser weapon in a spaceship like in starwars without it being a problem narratively. Because thats pretty much what ubi has done to ac lore, just switch out the genres, apparently scifi=fantasy and viceversa@@yaman2503

Desmond having his own game is the WORST AC IDEA I've ever heard! If you speculated that... Shame on you. Everyone knows the modern segments were the worst part of every game. I hated getting taken out of the game for the boring shit I couldn’t care less about

Same I felt like the modern story gave a reason for entering the animus, when they removed it in black flag, the whole series suffered
