@lovelydiva0621 күн бұрын
For me vocals is one of those things I can forgive if you can give a great performance cause singing and dancing isn’t always easy no matter how much you train to do it and a only a select few can do it flawlessly but the paid views or streaming stuff I really don’t like nor pertake in cause it’s not organic, people are purposely having songs/videos on repeat to drive up the numbers and in the end what does it prove since it’s not organic, to me it proves nothing except a bunch of fans nonstop repeated the song for essentially bragging rights smh
@obriendenis396521 күн бұрын
The thing is alot of people call "paid views" as inorganic. I find that not true at all. You need 30 seconds for it to count as 1 view. It's different from mass streaming just to boost a song up a chart. Now that's what people should call it as "inorganic". I'm not a numbers expert but someone on reddit break it down much better than me why watching ads is more of an organic way than mass streaming.

Music in general has gone down hill.. even in the US. Music has no meaning anymore, and people just want catchy 2 minute songs with no bridge and no meaning.. just a catchy chorus. Music now a days is like fast fashion. Just quick throw away songs that will replace with the next artist with the catchier song
@warren_r21 күн бұрын
You know it's a funny thing, my grandparents (born in the 1930s) used to say the same thing about music in the 1960s... Beatles and Beach Boys, the songs are too short, they're simple and meaningless "I love you, yeah yeah yeah".... they hated it. They wanted jazz, they wanted big band, they wanted proper musicians, not Ringo Starr. Then shorter songs fell out of fashion in the 1970s... then they were back in the 1980s.... then they were out of fashion again in the 1990s. It's all cyclical. What I'm saying is.... just give it a while. K-pop will continue to evolve and change.

K-Pop is reaching a point of unsustainability. The genre has gone from artistic and talented groups (and soloists) to pushing out as many groups as possible in the shortest amount of time. Most idols are very hard working, but the field is saturated, resulting in quantity (for the sake of profits) over quality. Nearly everything sounds the same now, making it difficult to remember which group is singing which songs, which doesn't create "brand" loyalty.

I think one of the reasons is that from the 4th generation onwards, girl groups (GGs) and boy groups (BGs) have been striving to become the 'next Blackpink' or 'next BTS'. The popularity of BTS and Blackpink in the West might have attracted labels. However, BTS never aimed to become the next Psy or Michael Jackson. Additionally, from the 4th generation onwards, due to the large number of groups, the K-pop fandom has become divided. No group has been able to amass a fandom as huge as Armys and Blinks. I'm not saying the 4th and 5th generations are merely copies of the 3rd generation or unsuccessful.

I think the issue is that there is so much saturation these days of new groups debuting left and right that these "older groups" have to keep up, adding to the pressure and toxicity to the Kpop scene. Especially when these newer groups, like mentioned in the video, are already getting gigs BEFORE they even debut and receive bigger and better opportunities AFTER their debut. It's wild that these luxury brands are booking these idols as ambassadors even before their debut. And why are these companies even allowing this when this group isn't even officially debuted yet? And i get it - money! But they're not even officially debuted yet though! They're not a thing. But with all that said, i dont think Kpop has gotten worse than before per se. It's just a different landscape. Not better or worse. Just my opinion though!

Onto the third generation both YG and sm negotiated for blackpink and red velvet respectively to also have sponsorships at almost the beggining of their carrers (which is why jennie got so much hate as well, back then) and by then the entire industry started catching up to the fact that sponsorship was simply another bussiness strategy. I think kpop fans need to understand that you can't just like an idol just for their visual, i mean yeah, they are handsome and gorgeous, but we should like them for how talented they truly are, kpop sometimes doesn't need to be just about visuals all the time and I don't visual should be a position because it seems useless in kpop nowadays or years.
