I consider myself lucky to have grown up in a neighborhood that was predominantly black. My family was the only Mexican family in the neighborhood. My best friends whom I considered my sisters really shared their culture with me and my family. I will always consider myself as partially black. My heart is black and my skin is brown. I always stand with my black sisters and brothers in god. To my best friends Faye and Ruthie you both had a positive impact on my life. You both were very supportive of me when I was suffering from abuse. You guys held me when I cried. Both of you were more like my sisters than my blood sisters. I will always love you both.

And maybe a movie at the Compton Drive-in at night!! ✨ Man-Oh-Man the time... The Afro's and the clock shoes with bail-bottom pants! EVERYBODY'S Mama was a good cook. Street gangs fought with bats, bricks, chains, and pocket knives. I remember it ALL-- from "Now & Laters" hard candy to Parliament & FUNK-a-DELIC ...
