Meet The Dimmadomes, Doug Dimmadome owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome along with his son and grandson Dale and Dev (Development Devin) Dimmadome. Dale used to work for Vicky against his will until he was sent to a much better life with some help Timmy Turner back in 2002, on Nickelodeon’s Fairly Oddparents. Now decades later, he and his son are in Dimmadelphia with a lot of money, and they have a whole new set of problems. I absolutely love this show because you can tell that the really cared. They cared enough to remember Dale, who was effectively a one-off character, and give him an important role. They cared enough to think about how Vicky’s actions would effect Dale long-term. And they cared enough to think about how Dale’s behavior would effect Dev negatively. This show better get a season 2.

Doug had his moral failings, but he at least cared about his kid (once reunited) and was willing to call Timmy's parents out for not knowing about Vicky's crimes. Dale fell a bit from the tree.

I mean, Doug was happy to be reunited with his son... But didn't you ever find it suspicious that he greeted Dale with a rather casual, "Hello, Son~" Instead of...y'know, _Hugging him?!_ Seriously; Dale was _kidnapped_ and held prisoner by Vicky, working like a slave for what had to have been _months._ And Doug can only seem to greet the boy with a "Hello~"?

On surface , Doug is a better father than Dale....even though it's mostly due to leak of footage about his relationship with Dale (from the original show , after the episode they got reunited). But in Channel Chaser , when he still pounding whatever or not he should help Turners to search for Timmy , he did considering "Timmy helped him to reunited with his son" as one of the positive reason for him to help finding Timmy. Which means at least he do still cares his son enough to be graceful with the person who being him back to his life. However , Dale clearly never really cares about his own son. (More like treating Dev as just his puppet.) Yes , I know Dale most likely got some mental issue from the whole 7 years of imprisonment. But you would think someone who has that kind of PTSD would became an overbearing parent who would put too much love on the child. Someone who would over reaction for his kid's lactose intolerance and make sure to use his power to forcing school either not severing pizza or go lactose free. Someone who would examination every detail of his son's birthday party , and go totally papa bear mode when Vicky's name came up in the search. But as we all saw , he is not. (TBH , Out of all parents in this series (I only talk about the animation) , he is the worst parent I had ever see. Remy's parents are busy , but they don't really look like jerk(at least ,from the few appearances of them we saw in the OG show.)

This is backstory theory but.... Notice that Dale Dimmadome's (overly loved) boots are cowboy boots? That's his dad's (Doug) aesthetic preference, not Dale. I think Doug gave those boots to Dale to celebrate Dev being born. Possibly as a the one or final gift to his son. That may be why they're so precious to him.

Of course, I understand that everyone in Dimmesdale is crazy, but Vicky kept the children in slavery, and it seems no one was looking for them, why didn’t anyone give these children fairies? I remember Timmy's mom saying that Timmy was eating out of the trash again because she didn't cook for three. It is immediately obvious that Dale is from Dimmesdale, raising his child in the spirit of this city.

When Jorgen did the memory wipe thing, he and Dev were wearing sunglasses to block its effects. Dev didn't look confused and dazed like his dad, but more like "huh what's going on?" before getting sent back to wherever. He lost Peri and will remember. I could be wrong though. Makes me want a season 2 and more Dev lore! Also an interesting note on his bed, the SS Gâté. Gâté is French for spoiled, so it's the SS spoiled. Enfant gâté, spoiled child.

I have a different theory. Like Cosmo and Wanda he retired too, BUT he stayed around Remy as a Butler in human form. I mean Jorgan did hate his cooking and as a result wanted to keep him from EVER cooking in fairy world. Ironically Remy would grow to enjoy the bad cooking even into adulthood. "You can have him back, but he has to cook all of your meals" Based on the wording I could totally see he meant ALL of them even as an adult. While remy could have a kid who gets a godkid, he actually treats them better than Remy was. Just is honestly busy with work. BUT he comes home anytime he can to be with his kid.

what i like about dale as an antagonist is that he feels like a direct acknowledgment that the original show featured a lot of adults (particularly parents) mistreating their kids and that being played as a joke- and this time, it’s *not* treated as funny and it’s not treated lightly, it’s shown as a very sad/sympathetic aspect of dev’s character and serves to make dale that much more of an awful person.

considering how hard the original series fell off at the end and the horror that was Fairly Odder? A New Wish absolutely floors me. the characterizations are spot-on while simultaneously fixing a lot of what made the original show grating (Cosmo and Wanda becoming the bumbling husband/nagging wife tropes, especially. their relationship was borderline vitriolic in the later seasons, lol). plus, Peri making his debut as a godparent and nailing the “perky but disillusioned adult” characterization was so charming to see! ANW is checking every last box for me. i guarantee you we’ll see a season 2 considering the reception it’s gotten and i can’t wait!

This person on another website theorized that Doug Dimmadome and some other rich people sold their children into slavery to Vicky and were just putting on an act pretending that they didn’t know where their children were, which was why Vicky wasn’t punished, but we will see what really happens. Someone else could have also kidnapped the children and sold them into slavery to Vicky too, but wouldn't they be punished unless that person was in cahoots with their parents or they were servants of their parents who disguised themselves and kidnapped their masters children and sold them to Vicky, but there are a lot of things that doesn't make any sense in the Fairly Odd Parents and it just results in plot holes. Third option would be for a magical creature to hypnotized the parents to selling their children to Vicky, but the magical creature would have to have a motive for doing so. Does she secretly have a magical creatures working for her that goes unoticed for decades. There would need to be a good explanation for this. Also, has there been any tragic villains redeemed in the Fairly Odd Parents so far as I don't recall any being redeemed. So I really don't have high hopes for it.

I am hoping Doug Dimmadome isn't decease or if he is will come back as a ghost as he would be an interesting villain. The reason is in the original Fairly Odd Parents episode "Mooooving Day" Doug seemed to have some magic milk that could hypnotize not only other humans but fairies too as Cosmo and Wanda were also hypnotize. Timmy of course put a stop to his plan. Also both villains and non-villains alike where hypnotize so the villains don't really work together and just use each other as pawns when they team up. Probably cause a lot of people would probably want to go after the fairies to use that magic for their own selfish reasons and cause all kinds of damage the very fabric of really in the process. I mean we all saw what happened when Crocker got his hands on fairy magic in abracatastrophe. And he was just a nutty school teacher. What would happen if the entire nations tried to use magic to mess with the fabric reality, alter/control the very nature of humanity, or rewrite history to their liking? The universe would probably implode at some point.

Everyone says that Hazel and Dev are each half of Timmy's personality but i think Dev is just Timmy to a slightly higher extreme Both have negligent parents who basically only care about themselves and both tend to act selfish and greedy but in reality are compassionate and kind deep down when it matters. Dev simply grew up with a bit more wealth and privilege which let him get a bit more entitled than Timmy but take wealth out of the equation and they are basically the same Hell, Dev's dad hiring Vicky despite literally experiencing her unfiltered cruelty first hand is exactly the same utter disregard of concern Timmy's parents showed him basically every episode.

@@moniflow Assuming AJ is 30 in the series [this theory takes place 10 years ago/ when Timmy is 17-18] Maybe Dale's father died, and he is at a new low, with Vicky being at rock bottom as well after her only money mule is a adult now [Timmy who is 18 at that time] drinks their sorrow away. They end up hooking up after getting wasted, with Vicky conceiving dev 9 months later. Not wanting a kid herself, she ditches baby dev at the bar she vaguely remembers some guy hooking up with her 9 months prior, It would also explain why he is distant to his own son, as he doesn't know how to raise a kid himself. maybe it also explains why he is named "Development" since to dale its a unexpected development in his live, blurting it out as he needs to pick a name, It also explains why Dev's hair has a slightly more reddish hue than his fathers, and his hair having a slightly similar spike to vicky's only then inversed

I think they're trying to difference themselves from the later seasons of the original show. They weren't exactly the best thing. That or they're trying to mimick the popular 2D looking 3D style like the one from the newest TMNT movie and/or Klaus (2019) from Netflix.
