I think an eye needs to kept on Dusty, her stories sound like some version of Munchausen-by-proxy, hurting someone or something, then nursing them (usually poorly) back to relative health to be seen as a hero and gain attention. It's not normal to find cats on the roof of your house and to just leave them there, nearly everyone else would've at least brought them down, and especially if a cat fell off the roof even once. It's a huge red flag to something not being right with her that it made sense to just leave the cats on the roof. And this is assuming the story is even true, since it's so bizzare and could be a cover for something. The repeated history of cats being harmed in her "care" seriously concerns me.

@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley2 жыл бұрын
@@jprofio An animal hoarder...those situations can be difficult, because just ripping away all of the pets leads the person to either become severely depressed or they might try to bring in other animals to fill the void. That still can happen regardless, though. It often means that until that person dies, they have to be monitored to ensure they don't bring in anymore animals and that hopefully they're getting the mental care needed to show why their style of "caring" for animals isn't working. Hoarding makes people ashamed to ask for help as well, further complicating the issue. Sadly, there's usually an odd disconnect between the fact that the person is feeling shame and knows things aren't right, and the person doing something different to get a better outcome.

Gotta love how over the place this woman was from the very beginning... 1/17/15, cat was buried. 1/21/15, cat discovered alive. Then makes statement that 5 days prior, she "knew" the cat was dead (so that'd mean the cat died on the 16th, despite by her own statements, it was buried the day it died). So really, if you choose to believe the cat was buried on the 16th or 17th, that's a total of either 6 or 7 days that the poor cat needed to wait. And yeah, the deleted video saying the poor cat was moving before being buried is just sick. Oh, and gotta love all those mug shots of her. I have to wonder if the owner knew the cat was alive or not when he initially buried it. If he was already sad about his cat and then the crazy neighbor who "totally could tell if the cat was dead" told him it was dead, he may have just believed her. This seems to have been in Florida and I can say from growing up in Alabama that some of the people I knew with pets weren't the best and brightest. I also have to wonder if the intended "special room for the cat" that was mentioned was just gonna be a regular room with cat stuff that anything like other pets or kids couldn't get into; the assumptions made about the room seemed a little exploded out of context. I'm definitely glad he found a good home, and is still doing well, I just feel like there's some questions regarding the intent of the original owner since a lot of the feedback is from Crazy Neighbor. Dude may have been genuinely trying to do what was best for his cat and it got taken away bc of stuff out of his control. Regarding the crime history and the fact that the injuries didn't look like an accident: I experienced some stuff living in the south where dicks would find a cat wandering around and hurt it on purpose, with bb guns and worse; if that's what happened to the cat I doubt it was by the owner. And the facts about his criminal record were vague at best; the southern US arrests black guys for things out of their control an embarrassingly high amount (I am black myself, and it's not a fun place to live). Without concrete evidence that he hurt the cat, I think the crazy neighbor is way more at fault than the owner, but he got flak because of having an unrelated record. I feel very strongly about animal safety, I actually had to bring my last dog to the Pensacola Humane Society when I moved up north (she was a bull breed, and the Alabama shelters aren't no-kill). I'm glad the cat is being treated well in a safe home, and I hope this taught the original owner a good lesson on trusting random neighbor advice instead of bringing an animal to the vet. I know this is a long comment, I just don't like that the neighbor was doing all the really shitty stuff and the owner got a lot of the kickback when he may have just trusted her when he may have just been upset about his cat.

Yeah....if the injuries aren't consistent with car or other animal, what were they consistent with? I'm having trouble imagining what could have been done to the poor thing. It makes me sick to my stomach and furious at the same time, when I hear about some innocent animal being abused. Hell, it upsets me if I accidentally step on one of our cats--at least they forgive me for being clumsy (I'm disabled, and have trouble walking properly). To do anything to hurt an animal deliberately is simply sick and twisted. Wait, they're willing to spend tens of thousands of dollars to help the cat, but then, one of the nurses, lets is be unhealthy by overfeeding it.

That cat photo at the end didn't look "overfed" at all, dude. Some cats get a little chunky as they get older, and it's perfectly healthy. Tuxedos in particular don't always stay sleek and slim into old age. It wasn't unhealthily obese

@@jprofio I like how you changed from "It wasn't unhealthily obese" to "The cat isn't obese" now.

Honestly I don’t think that cat had ever been to a vet before this terrible injury and he probably wasn’t fixed before then. It’s very common for male cats to gain a little weight after they have been fixed and get a bit of a chubby belly underneath. I don’t see an obese cat at all, I see one who is finally loved and cared for.
