What happened to Middleditch and Schwartz after their successful NETFLIX comedy special?

I don't think it's fair to speculate that they're no longer friends? When Ben's talked about Middleditch in interviews he's only had positive things to say about him. Also, I think it may have now been scrubbed from the internet, but the woman Middleditch allegedly groped had previously consensually hooked up with him. I think it changes the narrative a bit from predator creeping on random person to guy makes unwanted advances on previously reciprocating individual at sex club. From all the other screencaps and allegations that came out at that time (again mostly scrubbed from the internet) I still think the dude is a creep but this particular omission from the narrative always bugged me.

Good intel!

I think there ended up being a lot of women who hated working with him because he was creepy and his ex wife said some stuff about him that makes me think he's probably just a bit of a sex pest and hopefully not much worse

I don't see why Netflix can't continue the series with Schwartz & Friends that Ben's been touring to sold out theaters.

I’m coming over from Football Therapy and am already stoked for this channel! I absolutely loved the Netflix specials these guys did. Kept me sane at the start of the pandemic. I’m sad how things turned out with Middleditch, but understand why. I actually saw Ben Schwartz do improv in Chicago last year, though, so I’m grateful he still performs! I’ve done a little improv myself, and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to put themselves out there, make friends, or just have fun!

Thank you for this video. Huge fan of both of them and had the same burning question. Thanks for not posting clickbait bullsh*t and actually delivering some great content. Cheers

Doesn't mean anything.

@@dougdougw doesnt mean nothing. If they used to both follow each other and then now dont... thats pretty big. How many close friends and basically co owners of a company dont have each other on social media? Its far more odd than it is normal. I could all be completely off base, but there really isnt much pointing to that.

That’s one accusation from the ex and one passive aggressive tweet. And one friend who preferred to keep his agents.

I used to get pretty hammered, and didnt grope anyone without permission. Im sure i was obnoxious to some people in some other way, but the urge to grope people without consent cant entirely be blamed on substance. I dont think its a massive deal, if Thomas had dealt with it responsibly.🙄

Long form improv has been around for decades. It wasn't started by these two lol. Google UCB, google Groundlings.

This feels a little bit loaded. Someone seems to have targeted the guy pretty hard, someone who might just have a vendetta against him. The allegation is, he groped a girl, she said no, he did it some more, then it was over. Yeah, not great, and should keep away from clubs, but not worth ending his career over. David Letterman did worse. I hope he keeps going.

I mean, was Middleditch drunk at the time? I haven't read anything about the case, but It sounds to me like a guy who might have been inebriated and handsy. Doesn't make him a monster, just a guy who maybe needs to stop drinking. I've known a few ladies in my time who were exactly the same, can't keep their hands to themselves when they're over the legal limit...
@felixbache53694 ай бұрын
I mean if someone working at a night club known for 'secrecy' tells their manager a guest should be banned chances are that guest was more than 'drunk and handsy'

Following and groping somebody after they have already told you ‘no’ is crossing the line into harassment/assault territory. If you don’t see that, you could probably benefit from some self-reflection
@animatorFan744 ай бұрын
Well, the friendship couldn't have been THAT tight, then..... "Hey, you groped some ladies so we're NEVER working together again"..... Yep, couldn't have been too much love there.... :P

You gonna derail your whole career while it's on the rise because your mate is a creep? Weird hill to die on, and no decent friend should put you in that position
@rockersr.g.24104 ай бұрын
Yes, r*pists and perverts don’t deserve love. I’m sorry you and whoever liked your comment disagree. No way you feel bad for the creep who doesn’t care about consent but ofc, that can only mean you don’t care about consent either. Ben is against r*pe and touching others inappropriately on purpose, he’s a good man. ‘He groped some ladies so we’re NEVER working together again’ good! there was love until Ben found out, again, Ben and good people like him know perverts and pro-r*pe creeps don’t deserve love

Or Ben's been eating off that Sonic money and he has a good former Scientologist publicist who's hung onto that whole Disconnection ideology for work purposes.
@rishabhpb3 ай бұрын
Or they're probably still friends but only privately, and Middleditch doesn't want to hurt his friend's career as he's blowing up
