Another great video! Looks like no delays on both of your trips!
@TheRailfan988 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, only real delays we had were waiting for signals around the single track areas, but nothing that bad.

By the way--for all the rail buffs--that track along side the train is the U.P.'s "Kansas Pacific" line.

Wow...I didn't know DENVER had these...and the cars are with a much quieter Paint Scheme than back east SEPTA's! Are they having problems with their underframes on these Silverliner V's???
@TheRailfan988 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I prefer the RTD design over the SEPTA, both in paint and the overall cars. I'm not sure about the underframe issues as I haven't heard anything about that. The only major issues I've been hearing about are with the overall power to the line and of course PTC.

this is now entirely a quiet zone except chambers

I heard it costs $9 one way for 20 miles , with some station have $2/day parking ,why the bell is working all the time , may be is stocked in play mode ?? ( Chicago O'Hare to down town $2.50 for 18 miles on Blue line )
@ericschumacher71584 жыл бұрын
This shocks me too. $9 to get to the airport? That is really expensive.
@L0LrevneD10 ай бұрын
Well I’m writing from 2023, where the airport ticket is $10, which considering the inflation we’ve had over the last few years is no longer terrible. Still pricy tho.

Do you want to derail that is ptc also known as positive train control and it makes sure you don't over speen or if there is anything wrong and if it dose go in the back

It is required that they blow the horn at railroad crossings. They usually blow the horn 4 times at each crossing, like this: Long blow Long blow Short blow Long blow It is also required that they ring the bell when approaching the station, unless they are in a quiet zone.

Cool video. How much is the trip one way? Moving to Denver and will be making that trip to DIA often.
@TheRailfan988 жыл бұрын
Airport fare is $9. I don't believe they have it split into one way or round trip, just a day pass.

Are there solar panels on the stations roof?

so Denver basically ripped off SEPTAs Silverline V? why would they add cost by putting a platform for the tracks to run on? seems like a waste of money. put them on the ballast like a normal railroad.
@southeasternpennsylvaniara15886 жыл бұрын
Kevin Howard acctuilt septa and RDT got them from the same company but with a few differences and plus septa had problems with their under frames and RDT did not.
@kevinhoward95936 жыл бұрын
Well SEPTA does everything the cheapest way possible. That's why they suck and so does their service quality.

@@southeasternpennsylvaniara1588 thank you it's so annoying that people are like septa this and septa that rtd is a lot better

The concrete platform, especially on tight turns, helps ease track geometry maintenance. It's very common on purpose built high speed lines, but it's very good on lines like this because it's low-maintenance, and the track geometry doesn't change as drastically as it would with ballast.
