Any laws or rights that are based on what somebody can pretend to be, decide to change on a whim, or say they believe about other people are just plain unworkable, as we have seen amply demonstrated with depressing consistency in recent years. I wonder how naming the alliance The Homosexual Alliance whould have gone. I think that I would prefer that. I don't like the word Gay. I don't relate to it and don't understand it. Lesbian is a great word with history and is specific. Homosexual is what I am.
@davidgervais78403 жыл бұрын
The word Homosexual was made up in Germany about 1880 and came into English about1892. It is a made up word, part Greek and part Latin. It tried to medicalize something ordinary as something that needed to be cured. Since then until today, politicians with an agenda of harm to others and religious bigots have used the word to demean and abuse gays (& lesbians & others) to further their own purposes. English, and all other languages continuously create new words and repurpose old ones as needed. This is a natural evolution and people use what works in their language and culture. Creating a miss-matched bastard hybrid compound word and trying to force it into English is ultimately doomed to failure. People prefer to create words that meet their needs and values.
@gaiopescatore3 жыл бұрын
@@davidgervais7840 There is nothing wrong with the word homosexual, but it is a technical term. If we object to it on the ground of its hybrid formation, then we must object equally to television and telecommunication. Now, if someone, which has never happened, continued, after I spoke, after I presented myself as female despite my looks and often boyish/mannish clothing, to refer to me with male pronouns, it would have to be intended as an insult. Never having been so confronted, I don't know how I would react, but such reminds me of exactly how so-called 'transwomen' insult others when we do not or refuse to refer to them with their announced pronouns which give total lie to their perceived sex. Respectfully, Stonewall was abt gay & lesbian liberation- but trans ppl were always part of the movement. My understanding for the last 30yrs was that there was a loose agreement that gay & lesbian "rights" were given priority- but w the understanding T "rights" would be fought for after...it turned out not to be as necessary for everyone to come out for trans rights, as they happened along the way... every book ive read in 30yrs, every docco, movies, stories...all paint this picture. I know this, bc I lived in lesbian community for a decade before I transitioned. I fully support the LGB alliance. Gender ideology has created havoc w gay & lesbian peoples lives- same sex attraction is very different to same gender attraction! The T has taken over the whole rainbow- which is unacceptable bc it impinges on everyone else's rights To say the T is "tacked on the end" is misleading. The T was always part of the movement, a small part of the movement, but part none the less~ Gender ideology is a feminist theory, which has escaped the laboratory & absolutely needs to be sent back from where it came. Its done nothing but cause damage, to communities & individuals! The only bit abt this whole interview that troubles me, is trying to fight the re-writing of history... by trying to re-write history.... LGB ppl deserve representation 100%- the T has become Toxic in overstepping itself- that's the problem... that T was a small part of the original movement, is not a problem on its own. Gender ideology is the problem.
@roxee572 жыл бұрын
The T part that was there at the beginning was an acknowledgement that some very feminine gay boys and very masculine lesbian girls were so vilified by society they came to believe they would be happier if they changed their appearances so they matched their femininity and masculinity, a group which Blanchard & co calls HSTS, homosexual transexuals. There was also another T part of autogynephiles, which are people who transitioned because their sexual orientation was inverted to their inner paraphilia of imagining themselves as women. So both were still about sexual orientation. Neither were this gender identity essence supersedes sex idea we’re dealing with now, even if people in these two groups have adopted the language.

Can't help but think 'reap what you sow'. There's a lot of bellyaching of the previous generation of woke activists on this issue. Shared opposition against it does not an alliance constitute and, frankly, they stand to lose more than the rest of us. So good luck, I guess, but this one's on you to tackle. Don't come running to the heteronormative patriarchal xenophobic majority you used to fight against.

Unfortunately those with qualms about _this particular vaccine_ (rightly so IMO) have been lumped in with people who thinks it’s all a plot by bill gates to microchip people. Kind of strange she goes through all of contortions to explain her position yet falls for the simplistic ‘anti vax’ trope

"the Mantra was no debate" "They just wouldn't talk to us" Why do I feel that's severely shortened? So Stonewall has nerver put out a Statement on any of the issues you mentioned? Seriously? Someone just Ghosting an issue is rare, very rare especially in the case of an Organisation that is vety vocal on gay rights especially. This Sounds like you asking the same question multiple Times, getting responses and when the same question is not answered anymore, suddenly noone ever engaged in discussion with you. Now that is a hunch i have and not reality, but "noone ever engaged with us" seems so unrealistic that i just had to try to make sense of it.

what are you talking about? being trans is all about gender, not sexual orientation. You really must stop trying to link the two together, they are seperate. Therefore stating that if you allow conversion theropy then the person will turn out Lesbian, Gay or Bi is simply a load of crap. If you think this, then you aren't really understanding anything about gender id. It would be like trying to make someone write left handed, when they are right handed. A Trans person (ie a person born male, and identifying as female) can of course still be Lesbian, Gay or Bi. The two things are seperate. Bev Jackson will have you believe that a person identifying themselves as the opposite gender to which they are born, is obviously confused because they are really just lesbian, bi or gay, which is wrong. Get educated on this.
@boudicca98073 жыл бұрын
This is a typical word salad to say that a man can declare himself a lesbian if he identifies as female. Again, she covers this in the video - lesbians are accused of genital fetishism for preferring their own sex when they want to have sex. It's about same sex attraction, not same gender attraction. Sex is about bodies, not 'gender identity'.
@charlottejones75853 жыл бұрын
Take Blair White for example. I see her as a straight woman. However her s-e-x is male which cannot unfortunately be changed no matter how painful that will be for some trans people. But although I personally see her as a straight woman- who by the way is a bastion of common sense and someone I really respect -her sexual orientation is actually homosexual. That cannot be changed.

Gender identity is the idea that your soul can have a penis so powerful it overrides your actual vagina. I don’t believe in bepenised souls or any souls at all. It’s a ridiculous fairytale.

Mx White "... end of" nothing! Of course trans-people deserve respect and kindness -- just like every other human being. To label someone a "transphobe" or "hater" simply for a disagreement is a dishonest use of toxic language to shut people up. It is simply undeniable that transwomen DO retain the "male superiority" attitudes with which they were brought up. It seems that A FEW transwomen who retain these "superior" attitudes are trying to bully Lesbians into "submission" This is EXACTLY why women demanded "Women Only Spaces" in the first place ... because most Men (no matter how Left/Progressive) will automatically wish to take control of any situation/conversation/space. You only have to look at the Nursing profession, which is -- hugely -- a female profession, yet the relatively few male nurses take up an inordinately high proportion of the "top jobs", from Matron upward. If "intact" transwomen ARE allowed into "Women Only Spaces", they WILL tend to "take over" -- it is inevitable!
