Michael Jackson hated himself. He hated his brown skin. He hated his black features... natural big lips. He wanted slim skinny lips like white people. He hated his nose, he wanted a slim pointed nose. He even got a cleft chin... like a white man. He even adopted white children and had the nerve to say that they are his biological children created with his sperm🤔😪. How dare him disrespect us with that nonsense and lie. That alone should tell you that he hated being black. He didn't want his children to be black

I remember when the BAD video premier, my mom screamed out... "What happened to his skin? Why does he look like that?" She grew up a Jackson 5 fan. Her and Michael Jackson were born a few months apart in 1958. So she grew up on him and the Jackson family. She faded away from him as she got older.

I always wondered what fans reaction was seeing him go from brown skin to light skin and then to white in real time with him not giving an explanation until his interview with Oprah because by the time I was born in 96, his skin was completely white and I legitimately thought there were two Michael Jackson’s, one white and one black until I was a teenager that’s when I realized it was the same person

@alawishous15572 күн бұрын
The more I research Michael Jackson, the more frustrated I get with the way some fans refuse to acknowledge even the most obvious truths. I don’t believe Michael hated being Black, but I also don’t think he attached himself to any race. After Thriller, it seemed like he wanted to transcend any category-musically, visually, and culturally-becoming something the world had never seen before. Yes, he had vitiligo. Yes, he had lupus. Yes, he struggled with acne as a kid. But the idea that vitiligo alone explains his skin lightening doesn’t fully add up. A lot of fans take Michael’s word as absolute truth, but we have to remember that he came up in the tightly controlled Motown system, where artists were trained to handle the press, craft their image, and, at times, conceal the truth. Michael himself admitted to only having two nose surgeries, which is clearly not the case. It’s not about attacking him-he had every right to do whatever he wanted with his body-but it’s about recognizing that he wasn’t always honest about it. I think because he was ridiculed so much in life, his fans feel the need to defend him at all costs, sometimes to the point of blind devotion. But Michael wasn’t some fragile, helpless person who didn’t understand the world. He was a grown man who knew exactly what he was doing. He made deliberate choices-whether with his appearance, career, or the people he surrounded himself with. After Thriller and into the Bad era, he distanced himself from certain people and controlled his inner circle because that’s what he wanted. This was the same man who was ruthless in business, who outmaneuvered industry giants, and who was highly strategic in everything he did. Fans also need to acknowledge that Michael played the media game himself. He fed the press certain narratives but would then tell his fans not to believe the tabloids when things didn’t go his way. And it’s funny how you can tell when someone is just repeating old talking points when they still use words like “tabloids” in 2025-who even says that anymore? At the end of the day, I love Michael Jackson. I’ve studied every detail of his life, and I think it’s important to see him for who he truly was-flaws, contradictions, and all. Idolizing an imaginary version of him doesn’t do justice to the real man behind the legend.

Obviously while growing he was already a big star so at he's teen years to adlosece he discovered he's many acnes and all that and he just wasn't comfortable to have all that. Micheal had done he's nose but fine that's he's life probably he wanted a better desired look for himself it had nothing to do with being white. Micheal suffered scalp burns making him stay on wigs all he's life yet he turned it into a style. He suffered vitiligo had to even he's skin yet they blame him for trying to be white. Yes alot of others surgeries may have caused damages but he was still a cool personality. Today young people are doing surgery to have bigger ass some cosmetic surgeries to change lips, hips face lifts and so on. But once it was Mj it became national problem

This brief documentary separates the real, old school….pre-1980…Black American, non-trendy “fans”…from the others🤷🏾♂️ Michael’s physical obsession was / is nothing to dismiss…or obfuscate. He merely symbolized a bigger problem: Black self-hatred. Black self-hatred needs to be addressed and analyzed, in: the USA…the Caribbean….South America…INDIA…the Middle East…and the African continent, itself. Like many Black elders, Joe Jackson infected the minds of his children with self-hate. Thus…most of his children changed the shape of their noses…and the men sought non-Black/non-dark-skinned women (Jermaine didn’t, initially. And Marlon is still married to a Black woman). Michael would have a completely different physical appearance, if he was protected and encouraged, by his father. Also-if Joe was a loving father--Michael would still be alive. He wouldn’t’ve surrounded himself with thieves and leeches….to fill an internal void. P.S.: Michael CLEARLY LIED about “just using water” to achieve his curl look🙄 Non-Black folks ( like the narrator ) really buy that lie?😄. It was A PERM (jheri curl). And for the 1984 Victory Tour /Grammy Awards show: he made a mistake and over-permed his hair. That’s why it was unevenly stringy!! Anyone who previously had a few perms/jheri curls (like me) saw this, immediately!!💁🏾♂️

And with many other things has he been of help in regards to identifying my symptoms and treating them, of the same illness. Lupus is horrible, and I feel all his pains, but Michael helps me make it way less of a problem - I don’t feel alone anymore. I always wear long sleeves and long pants, as a preference for modesty. But now, I also prefer so for my sun sensitivity caused by my illness. And I not only use my umbrella for the rain anymore. But I don’t go to things such as makeup, I’ve always been against it and never used it since it’s bad. Makeup itself probably also played a role in his vitiligo because of certain chemicals. As someone with lupus, I have a better chance of developing vitiligo since both are autoimmune diseases. Also, he said he only had 2 nose jobs. You say it was more than 2. I think I’ll stick to believing him.

One thing people should understand is that as a person that is always on the spotlight and you have the money to look good, why not go for it. For goodness sake, you don't need people 's opinion. Michael is not the only one into surgery, he did not start and people are still doing it, why couldn't he be left alone. These tabloid did evil to him, honestly

Hey Could we please get a commentary on his relationship with both his parents

I still remain very skeptical about his vitiligo claims. In all the private footage shown, particularly in Japan, during the Bad Era; Michael appears with his original skin tone and no discernible blotches what so ever. Even in the "Black or White" video his hands, and all other parts of his body not completely saturated with light makeup, are his original shade. Then by the "Remember the Time" video, less than six months alter, he's completely white. It must have been one invasive procedure to achieve complete de-pigmentation in such a short amount of time. It also seems like a bit of a coincidence that someone as image obsessed and seemingly fixated on modelling himself after the eurocentric standards for beauty would also have this particular disease.

False. The last time Michael appeared in his original skin tone was early Victory Tour. After '84 he never went back to his original chocolate skin color. He was light caramel during the entirety of the Bad Era.

I agree. The transformation was pretty drastic too. Peep the time he and Madonna attended the Oscar’s together in March of 1991. He still very much looked like his Bad era image. Then cut to the debut of Black or White music video 6 months later and he’s completely white and I believe he had something done to his eyelids. His Dangerous era appearance always seemed very “Eurasian” to me. I’m still a fan but dedicated Moonwalkers will amplify his obvious dishonesty regarding his looks

I've always said this but ofc it's a problem when we have an opinion that doesn't align with other people, his skin color change just doesn't sit right with me, when his father would literally make fun of him for having a big nose and that he was to black

@@Jedi_Kniggaagreed 1991 was a big change in his appearance he undergone more surgery that year while recording The Dangerous album it was May or June 91 where the bad era look ended

@@malbrojay4740 Did you watch the video? Michael's skin tone appeared vastly different throughout the Bad era... Significantly lighter and more racially ambiguous in promotional materials.

I appreciate that this channel tries to be fair and transparent but some of the descriptions used are infuriating. It's overall very respectful in the end so still great work.

It's a shame how judgemental folks are about other ppl's looks, in and outside the industry. You would think we would learn from what MJ went through but no. We still cruelly pick apart ppl's bodies. (9:52 That has got to be radio legend Tom Joyner interviewing Mike. So interesting to see!! )
