I was looking forward to these. I think they are cute and i like the update. But I dont see myself spending $40 for them. They are missing something or lacking something. If they were like $20-25... i would have considered getting them. Im a little disappointed in them. Thank you for the side by side, it showed me im good with my originals. 😊

Oh, they will be, once they go on clearance. I don't feel like the reaction to them, across the internet, is very positive. The relaunched Bratz dolls looked exactly like their original releases. The Monster High Creeproduction did, as well. Mattel fumbled HARD on this one!!

Your dolls both the 2002 and 2024 look amazing!! I never had any MyScene dolls so I didn't know what they looked like. I don't remember seeing them in stores back then, so I don't have the nostalgia for these dolls. I am loving the way the newer dolls look in the face and the outfits! You are right the boxes look very boring.

Thank you. The nostalgia of the dolls is what made me buy them. If you never had the originals, these are bad. But they aren't great either.

Thank you for the video and comparisons! Madison was always my fave so I’m sad to see she seems to have had the least effort put into her new doll 😭 Her being the only one without a jacket just doesn’t sit right with me. How the hell were they better at textured curls in 2002 than 2024!? These are great for nostalgia but NOT worth $45 to me. I’d have been more tempted if they did Madison better

Excellent review that only a long term collector can execute. It seems to me that Mattel has put more effort into the Dream Besties line. Better character development but really big heads which I don’t like. But better prices, more appealing to today’s children. I am not sure I will get them, but more effort has been put into the line.

I like Chelsie’s outfit. That one seems like an upgrade and would buy just that one. As for the Madison, I like her eye shadow in the OG. I would probably just buy the originals for all others.

I’m interested in these girls but admit hoped for closer packaging to the original and more accessories including that the original line had. I think that the price of $45 is a bit high and $25 - $30 would have been better. I’m in no rush to get them, we should voice how much more we want them reflecting the original lines. I do think they will sell well and reproductions can improve in the mirroring of the original lines as time goes along the same way Bratz and MonsterHigh reproductions have. It’s a good start. I do hope that they properly capitalize on this beloved brand and support their fans.

These dolls were so pretty. I was hoping to pick them up, but $45 is a big ask for a play line doll. While I appreciate the improvements in fabrics and hair, one of My Scene's characteristics was extra outfits and lots of fun accessories. In that way, it's a little disappointing. You'd think they'd want to come back with a bang! 🤷‍♀️

If I wouldn't have seen the originals, I would have liked these, but they fall short, especially for the price. I am concerned this will kill any more new dolls, if that was possibly planned. It's not because we don't want them that we aren't going to rush to buy them, but because this is not enough. Bratz did better in their reproductions, although I preferred My Scene back in the day.

I never had my scene; back then due to the fact I was a boy and “boys don’t play with dolls” but as I started collecting dolls as I got older by that point I haven’t seen them anymore & pretty much forgotten about them. However I have always liked Madison as well as the one with purple eyes; I think “Nolee” or something like that? I feel like what would have ate is if they made them into a belly button mtm hybrid with the arms & legs of the made to move dolls. So many customizers give their mtm dolls a snatch waist; I think a lot of people & fans alike would have been gagged & probably wouldn’t mind the price point; although it may have made them more expensive. Missed opportunity nonetheless. Overall I do like their outfit pieces but not strong enough to spend almost 50 bucks for each of them, although I am curious to see how they look on IT dolls. I love that butterfly top and would like to snatch it for my Siren Volain. Based on mix and match possibilities I think Madison & Chelsea would be a good choice for the right price.

O the "Boys don't play with dolls" comment. I was lucky to have been surrounded by girls from a young age , therefore, I was never stopped from playing with dolls, but I remember the saying. I was around 16 when the original dolls came out and bought them under the concept I was buying them for myself. Because I wasn't confident even to start collecting for myself.

I love the new myscene dolls. I don’t mind the boring box bc they’re just so iconic to me that I like how it focuses on just the dolls with a clear simple box. Like this is MYSCENE BARBIE, MYSCENE CHELSEA, and MYSCENE MADISON. Introducing them to the new gen. but the old boxes were so cute and very 2000’s 🤍

I knew that Madison was downgraded, but boy, when you put her next to 2002... they really did her dirty ;____; poor baby. I actually think, seeing them side-by-side, I actually like Chelsea's 2024 doll a lot more... *gasp* but she's just soooo pretty. I like both Barbies about the same, but Chelsea's feels like it was actually improved in every way. The skirt, and the COOOOOAT please, it's gorgeous. She's the only one from this set that I feel the urge to buy, but maybe only once she goes on clearance, because 45 bucks... let's noooot. Or I'll ask someone for her as a Christmas present maybe. Idk. We remain Chelsea stans, that's all that matters.
