My jaw dropped with the sock reveal. 😭Literally just little strips of fabric. I feel like they might as well have just not given her “socks” at all. Aside from that, I think Chelsea’s outfit is really cute and I’ll definitely be getting her.

OMG they still have the bend and snap knees 😍😍😍 I love the new MyScene dolls, however they seem less “deluxe” and more like buget dolls compared to their OG counterparts but for a higher price. I love Chelsea and I really want her when she goes on sale. I think reproductions of the originals would be awesome too 🙂

I'm probably the only collector that likes saddle stands. They are great for dolls with gowns. The My Scene stand fits Barbie. I have my Madison sitting in her beach chair so she doesn't need her stand.

My Scene is one of my favorite Barbie lines ever! I still have the originals from all those years ago, and I refuse to part with them. I don't own every single one, but I have all the ones I ever did own. I'm tempted to get these new ones, but at the same time, Mattel's quality has gone down in 20 years and they're so similar to the originals it may not be worth it. I wish they'd shifted away from the fake leather. But I'm still so tempted!!! I hope they add Nolee as well! I love Chelsea's new hairstyle! She was always my favorite back in the day. :D The 2024 version's eyes look smaller to me than the 2002 version. Can't wait to see Barbie!

I love OG My Scene so much that I struggle to like new My scene as much. But I am glad to see the girls back and I will need to see them in person to know if I will get them or not. I will likely get Madison because she is my fav character although I am not a fan of her outfit. I like the OG one more, it felt more classy. Great video, it's good to see a comparison.

The reason 2002 Chelsea’s screening looks a little fuzzy is because her face is sprayed. I think some 2002 batches were sprayed & some were using tampo. Basically, spray is airbrushing each detail of the face individually using masks. When a doll is sprayed, it can make for variants between dolls, so some may look more clean/crisp while others could have a more smoked out/fuzzy look. Spray is a more expensive method (but gives a better look with dimension that gives the illusion of real makeup imo) that was the standard technique used (for the most part) back then by toy companies like Mattel & MGA, but it’s been phased out now sadly & replaced by cheaper alternatives, which is why many of Mattel’s recent doll screenings can look very flat & sticker like (tampo) or terribly pixelated (a method called DIJ which needs to be abolished imo). The 2024 dolls have a new head with flatter eyelids to accommodate their newer method of doing things.

As a kid my oldest niece had these dolls and she and I would play for hours with them. She and I would play hair salon with them. We would give them crazy hair styles. I don't think she has them anymore . I think she gave them to her daughter's when they were younger. Great review on these dolls.

I saw them online and they have a set of 3 maxie dolls for a good deal. My niece said she will help me get them. All 3 maxie dolls look to be in good condition. I don't need any clothes for the dolls . I have a lot of clothes for my dolls. Just want to replace the maxie dolls that the neck peg broke off. Love your review & appreciate you going over the details & comparing them to the OGs. I’m really happy to see Mattel actually acknowledge My Scene again (they never acknowledge them) & give them their flowers in the form of tribute dolls with a newer take on their original designs. The 2024 girls are cute for the most part & I really like how elements of their plastic purses from 2002 were translated to fabric versions. Things like that feel more upgraded. However, as these are supposed to be collector dolls with a collector price point, I do think Mattel could have put more effort to make these more deluxe & gone the extra mile to make them a moment! These look very playline, (playline jewellery being used doesn’t help) and the 2002 dolls actually look like deluxe collector dolls in comparison, from the designs, to the secondary outfits, the colour palettes, to the accessory choices, packaging design and just overall execution…the OGs are more deluxe & it really goes to show how much effort & attention to detail they used to put into their playline dolls back then, which is unfortunately not the case anymore. I will most likely get them, as I’m a MS fan & would love to see the brand have a resurgence, but I really want Mattel to step their game up & start putting more effort & funds into quality & design again. It’s been way too many years of watered down & cheaply made Barbie dolls, & I want her to get back to being the doll we all fell in love with again.

exactly! They are supposed to be tribute collector dolls, however in actuality are major downgrades to their original counterparts. The quality is arguably worse, a smaller piece count (the OG dolls literally retailed for $13.99) AND they have a new UV head sculpt + a new screening method instead of sprayed😭 While I absolutely am glad MS is FINALLY being acknowledged (in more than an insta post), I can't help but feel these are lowkey disrespectful(I'll still get two of each)😭

I enjoyed watching the comparison of these newbies and the original My Scenes.i remember seeing them at the stores back in 2002 shortly after the Bratz came out. I bought few originals, but Bratz have been my favorites. So, when I heard the lawsuit going around which it upsets me…I decided to stop collecting My Scenes because I feel it’s so wrong to fight over the brand. If they never acted out, I would continue on collecting them. So, I have over 30 original My Scenes doll(s) in my collection. I am glad I saved them plus I bought more from Flea Market and thrift stores. Am looking forward to welcome them back to start collecting them again. Great reviews!

TheOG My Scene dolls are premium! I have all 3 plus a Lindsay Lohan one. The only dolls that compare right now are Rainbow High dolls. Monster High is amazing, but even the OG MH beat the new ones by miles.

The packaging with the flap on the box was the very first packaging. It was packaging used during the test market for the dolls. When they went into wide release, they simplified the packaging by eliminating the flap I worked for a shop that sold them as part of the test market.

White sewing thread could make a replacement for the aged elastic straps on Madison's top. The butterfly, emblem of the nineties and early 2000s. lol For some reason I'm remembering the time I played with one of the My Scene dolls that made faces. That was hilarious. Chelsea's wearing an ornamental knuckle duster. o.O Flairy gathered moment= ruffle. :D A little bit of white school glue will help her hand thing stay on. And the pink fake socks are very odd. I seem to remember being confused and put off by Madison's blue eyes.

OMG MYCENE! I was really hoping you would do a video of myscene video with these new releases and you did not disappoint! I love my scene. I had so many as a kid along with Bratz. Loved them both equally. OG Madison! Omg she is sooo gorgeous! Her outfit, her face makeup, earrings are soooo beautiful. I have to add it to my collection. However, her 2024 doll I’m a little disappointed in. Because compared to the 2024 Chelsea (which I think is absolutely gorgeous!! That outfit though), it kinda fell flat for me. The 2024 Maddison’s make up and outfit was just pale in comparison to the Barbie and Chelsea 2024 doll. Don’t get me wrong, she’s still very cute, but compared to the other 2024 dolls, it’s a little sad. Poor Maddy. But her OG doll definitely flawless. 😍 Okay, the 2024 Chelsea doll is so gorgeous, and so close to her OG doll. I absolutely love her outfit and jacket!! And even her box was colorful and soo very cute! I love both her OG and the 2024 doll and sooo happy they kept her hair color. I was always a fan of her red hair and blonde highlights. ❤ I do have to say, I love the 2024 bags better. I prefer fabric over plastic. That’s just me. But I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who didn’t care for 2024 Chelsea’s hand piece. That was a little much for me as well. But all her other accessories I loved. Even 2024 Maddison doll I loved her jewelry. I’m very happy they kept the original face. Because wow…I always loved how beautiful their faces were. I’m sad they don’t have Nolee!!! She was the original four. 😓 poor girl. I know they discontinued her later in the line to before they completely stopped producing My Scene. I really hope they continue to make more dolls for this line, like they are with Bratz. Thank you for the for this review!! I really hope you do more My Scene dolls after your Barbie review. ❤❤❤

I had a kneejerk reaction I don't think that they are bad, but some fierceness has been lost through the years especially Chelsea. Mattel always does this. I mean I guess not just Mattel. MGA has also lost that some of that in their Batz repros as well. I'd say that these dolls look better out of box than the stock photos and even those other leaked in-box photos. Huge ICK weird half leg warmers. They keep doing that with MH too ugh please stop I beg! Anyway, I will be on the lookout for an eventual sale. The price is a bit too high for what you get.
