Another thing to mention about the Nerf guns: Sometimes Hasbro will have Nerf guns share the same name as Transformers to keep their copyright. For example, the Nerf Rampage, Shockwave, Thunderblast, Barricade, Jolt, Strongarm, etc!

22:25 Talking about the Jurassic Park crossover, I did write this story idea of Tyrannocon Rex being a creation of Shockwave as a machine of war and JP93 is an Auto-Trooper who would change his name to Wrangler after he crash-landed on Earth in Kenya when hunting down Tyrannocon. JP93 then meets a group of humans who gives him the name Wrangler and he scans a Jeep Wrangler instead of a Ford Explorer. And Tyrannocon gets her alt-mode from scanning a T-Rex animatronic from a film production . There is no reason for me to bring this up in the comments, but I just wanted to bring it up and share this idea just for fun.

Man that first movie DS Decepticons game was a big part of my childhood but in retrospect it had the most egregious case of "Starscream was right, actually" syndrome ever. There's like this running trend in TF fiction where the writers will portray Starscream's ego as far outstripping his competence, and him being just definitively the worse leader compared to Megatron. However, due to the format of the show/comic/film/game/whatever, the Decepticons' ultimate defeat is almost always under the tenure of Megatron or Galvatron, who is also normally solely responsible for the war. Starscream's methods and plans normally end up vindicated by the format, because he didn't start the war, and he didn't lose the war. In this game, though, Starscream basically achieves the entire goal of the Decepticons. He gets the Allspark and he's led the faction to what is ultimately their victory for a million years. Meanwhile, Megatron's a rabid cannibalistic monster who flew off into space and abandoned all of his troops while doggedly pursuing the cube, and then got defeated by some ice. By every measurable metric, Screamer is a better leader than Megs in this game... but because the three other Cons on Earth are basically Megs' fanclub, Megs gets revived, Create-A-Bot gets recruited into the cult, _and then they all die trying to fight Starscream_ because Megatron means more to them than their actual goals. Meanwhile, Megatron was galivanting around the city and fighting Optimus. He and Create-A-Bot do team up to beat Starscream... and destroy the Allspark in the process, afterwhich Megs eats his only remaining soldier because he doesn't feel like fixing him, when this guy is the sole reason Megatron isn't a headless popsicle. But oh, Starscream's a backstabber, that makes him totally worse than the lunatic who abandons his soldiers without notice and eats them if he feels like it.

My friend was just getting into the series and I dumped a ton of exposition on him, so these videos are pretty timely lol. Great work. I was also in a line chat with the top 200 players of transformers battle tactics until my phone bit the dust in the ocean and when I got a new one, the end of service announcement happened. I did always like how they adapted the toys into chibi forms with their accessories and all. My best guess to the quick shutdown is that it wasn’t very popular ie very little promotion and also didn’t really encourage spending due to being (almost) full pvp and the event reward characters often being much better than the gacha bots, so if you managed to win a character from just one event you could snowball your account hard and never need to use the gacha even if the bots gave more score just because you decimated everyone in your path anyways. Oh, and the official threads for them went through about 3 hirings and firings of community managers due to the amount of toxicity in it.

I realized way too late in the DS game for movie 1 that whenever you play one of the large characters(Megatron, Blackout, Optimus Prime, Creat-a-bot as an attack copter), when you do a ground slam attack, what’s happening in the animation is the large bot slams the ground so hard, his arms dig into the ground, thus having a need to yank them out. That little animation detail gave the large bots a little more personality. It was charming.

Note about the scooter and Crosscut… Skids (and Crosscut) are initially based off thw Honda City Turbo, which includes a small motorized scooter meant for city commuting. Third Party Figures - While technically being bootlegs by definition, the term "Third Party Figure" refers to a Transformers figure not officially endorsed by either Hasbro nor Takara. It usually refers to figures that have higher quality than the descriptor of "bootleg" would imply. SSSS.GRIDMAN and Shattered Glass - Several characters in the anime SSSS.GRIDMAN are designed after various Transformers characters, specifically from Shattered Glass and Age of Extinction. For example, the main antagonist is designed after SG Optimus, and the protagonist is designed after G1 Cliffjumper, meanwhile the designs of a team in the series are based on the Dinobots from AoE, with their leader designed after Grimlock, the flying team member designed after Strafe, etc. Julien-K in RotF Game - In the tie-in game to Revenge of the Fallen, the industrial rock band Julien-K lent some of their music to be used in the soundtrack, like their song Death to Analog, despite none of their work appearing in the film itself. They also helped compose a bit of the soundtrack. Panty & Stocking Transformers Episode - There's an entire episode of the anime Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt that is a Transformers parody, poking fun at both the live action films and Generation One. Another note about the aligned continuity: the first two novels by Alex Irvine also retconned both The cybertron games and Prime. Plus for Cybertron were directly meant to be connected the G1 and nothing else. Primes retconning was far less nasty than TCW did to legends… because everyone in the line continuity was contradicting something.

While I'm not a huge transformers fan I do know a lot about 80s and 90s Japanese cars and can explain why clutch and crosscut are related. crosscut appears to be a 1985 Honda city turbo 2 and in real life was sold along side with a small scooter known as a Honda motocompo. I'm assuming they paired the 2 since in real life the car and scooter are closely related since the car was built to perfectly fit the scooter in its trunk.

There was actually a third Machine Robo Anime in 2003 - Machine Robo Rescue (imagine Rescue Bots, but every robot is a combiner, every robot's human companion is a kid, there's actual fighting and the story is a very typical anime). The funniest thing to me about the Mcdonalds/Burger King toys in general is: 1: During Beast Wars, one of them was just a Lion with its age advisory in place of where a name would go. This was taken to its logical extreme by TFwiki and eventually the TFCC by turning him into a character named Under-3. 2: There were also some Rallys toys that look leagues worse than anything that came out of either major chain. 3: The armada toys had combiner modes. Decepticons formed a big vehicle, the Autobots totempoled together into a big robot. Also, I remember Transmetals did actually have Waspinator as a playable character. He even got an alt costume that turned him into Starscream's Ghost. There's also a vague recollection of Stratosphere getting an appearance as a major supporting character and boss in the Dark of the Moon game. While he never fully transforms, he acts as a transit vehicle for Bumblebee, and Starscream ends up raiding him for munitions before killing him by exploding whatever weapons Starscream couldn't carry.

I don't know if this is a madela effect, but when I saw Age of Extinction in the theaters as a kid Ironhide's card had his black nose plate which was used a lot during Revenge of the Fallen products, but it also could have been his black face plate which used to be a part of his concept design which funny enough the old concept designs for the Autobots, and Decepticons were heavily used in the DS games, just a random fact.
